Ahoy, President of the MoveDex. Reckon we should be keeping the old images in the article somewhere? If so... where? —darklordtrom 10:24, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- Hmm. No particular uses seem to pop into my head at the moment; I don't think it would be feasible to keep older-generation screenshots on the same article, and I don't think sub-articles would work either.
- I'm inclined to say we don't need the older images, but perhaps we shouldn't delete them just yet, in case something does pop up in the near future. Perhaps a "Possible future use" category would be handy on the Archives.
- Strictly for Project MoveDex, however, I'd say there's little use for the outdated images. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 22:04, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

Metagross Pic
Hey. I would like to put a new pic on the main Metagross page. Can you do it for me?
a:Image:MetagrossAnime.png --Hmdwgf 03:54, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- A higher-resolution version of Metagross_anime.png, it seems?
- For future reference, if it's a strictly higher-quality version of an image already up, I believe it's perfectly fine to simply upload the better version on top of the old one (keeping the same name, and saving you the trouble of adding it to the correct pages). I'll just switch this one with the old one though, seeing as you've already uploaded it. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 12:57, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- OK. I shall do that in the future. --Hmdwgf 22:56, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi, thank you for doin some of my Pokedex entries for me while the editing thing iz down, but can you make the Taillow entry Ruby/Sapphire instead of Emerald, like Solrock, or Treecko? Littlmiget123 22:04, 26 October 2009 (UTC)

"Project MoveDex"
So what is your next step in action for our "In_The_Manga" little project? -- Landfish7 22:35, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
- I think I'll get a test-fire going on Razor Leaf's article soon, and assuming it works with the formatting, we can start copying it over to other moves. I've been meaning to update the MoveDex project "to-do" list for a while now, so I'll put something up there soon, hopefully.
- Do you have AIM, perhaps? We might be able to discuss the project a bit more over that. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 01:44, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
- I don't mean to sound stupid but what is AIM? I know it probably has something to do with instant messaging.
- And like I said before. We we will also need to upload more pictures instead of using pictures we already have (We CAN use pictures we already have but we ALSO need more pictures for other articles.) -- Landfish7 19:34, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
- AIM is a chatting program, yes. "AOL Instant Messenger" (yes, they used an acronym within an acronym). I've also got MSN and Yahoo messengers, but if you don't have one, that's fine.
- Yeah, if we can get the templates up, even without images, it'll be fine; the problem would simply be the description (not being a reader of the manga, I can't provide anything on that front).
- If I have time, I'll make the template later tonight. But there's no hurry on it. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 23:31, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
- Infact I do have Yahoo messenger. My e-mail address is [email protected] (don't be confused, I am a yahoo user). If I can get you on my contacts we can both manage to IM each other on Yahoo so we don't have to make a zillion edits to the userspace. (I've read the userspace policy before! :D) -- Landfish7 19:34, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

1. In Lairon's entry you have written as follow: "-and smashes its steely body up against others it battles over territory." I guess you should have written "in battles", not "it". i might be wrong because I didn't hear that part so well.
2. You should also add Nidoking's Pokédex entry from the same episode. If you don't know it, I can tell it to you if you want.

Just a reminder
What to do next on our "In_The_Manga" little project? Or is the project ano go now? -- Landfish7 21:59, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
- I haven't had a chance to speak with the other EB members yet (still recovering from a cold), but I think I'd still like to see a Manga section. Granted, it will only be on a limited number of moves, but the few that have it should contain enough information to warrant a full section.
- I'm not sure if it'll need the same type of template as the "in the anime" section uses, however. I need to re-work a few other sections of the move articles anyway, so consider it temporarily on-hold until I get a chance to get the layout worked out. (feel free to continue dropping suggestions on the MoveDex or my own talk page, though.) -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 10:26, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
- OK, Tell me when your ready for the next thing we need to do with this. By the way, you have a point, some things will need to be specified like, not just the "episode" but which manga it is. For example, is it Pokemon Adventure or some other manga? Anyway, I'll poke you if it begins to be a while (3 weeks or so?) -- Landfish7 22:12, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

Can you add this?
I think that you've forgot that Ice Ball was used by Walrain ans Sealio in the anime. 11:19, 22 November 2009 (UTC). - unsigned comment from Moti19909 (talk • contribs)
- For future reference, typing four tildes ~~~~ automatically adds your signature and timestamp, so you don't need to type it out yourself or make multiple edits. =D
- Anyway, I assume you mean to add an "In the anime" section to Ice Ball? I personally don't have access to the anime (not DVDs at least, so I can't take screen captures), so I can't add anything until someone's collected the images. Rest assured though, if someone gets some screenshots of it, it'll be added to the article. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 15:57, 22 November 2009 (UTC)

On the Matter of Moves--Swift, Attract, and Dragon Claw
Should there be periods at the ends of sentences in the anime sections of the moves? Most of them do have periods at the ends of the sentences, but I was not sure if I should correct the ones that do not (for example, Umbreon and Glameow's portions in the anime section of the move Swift do not have periods). Additionally, at what point does a move previously in the front become relocated to the back? (the move Icicle Spear does not have an anime section at the lower part of the article, for example) Should all anime move sections have ‘hide’ options? (the anime section for the move Attract does not have a 'hide' option, for example) Additionally, Dragon Claw has differing descriptions between TM and usage in-battle. Should that be listed?Steph 04:18, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
- Gah, soo many questions. Let's see now.
- I'm in favor of periods myself (I'm a fan of grammar), but honestly, it's not a big deal. Mostly comes down to the writer's style. No reason to go around adding periods to everything, but if you're writing one up in the first place, might as well stick a period on the end of it.
- From the looks of it, Icicle Spear was simply never updated with the correct formatting and template. If you spot articles like that one, they're fair game to update; there's no requirements for cleanup on those.
- On the same note, I have no idea why Attract isn't set to be expandable. I'm told it was made into a variable for the few moves that were only used once or twice, but honestly, even those could use the show/hide option. Either way, don't bother fixing those for now; I'll probably edit the template itself to always be expandable.
- Hmm, as for Dragon Claw, how do they differ? (it appears I've already used all my copies of TM02.) -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 05:09, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
- I'm sorry for butting in, but I edit the anime moves alot! I am going through and watching the anime, and everytime a new move debuts, I do what I can (i.e., if it isn't updated with an anime template, I'll do that, or if it doesn't have a show/hide section). If you want, you can leave Icicle Spear and Attract to me and I will edit them when I see them, that way they don't have false descriptions like a lot i've seen. Again, sorry for butting in. Littlmiget123 13:02, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
- Dragon Claw: The descriptions differ in a matter of adjectives. I should be able to check the exact wording later, but one of them differs by saying 'hooked' claws, I think. There may be a few others--at least, TMs-- that differentiate in description. Icicle Spear and Attract: Yes, formatting this complex is better left to you, Littlemiget123 (or Jioruji Derako, whoever deals with it first). I shall inform you if I find any others with incorrect or unusual templates. Steph 15:09, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
- As for Dragon Claw, if you can dig up the exact wording, it's probably worth noting the difference in the trivia section.
- And go for it, Littlmiget. I don't watch the anime myself, so I stick to working on the templates themselves. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 17:49, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
- I have added the tidbit about Dragon Claw to its Trivia section, along with a few others. I have also been able to figure out the move templates, and have now progressed with updating them. Thank you for your help, Jioruji Derako. Steph 23:53, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
- One note on the move description differences; make sure to note the generation/game the TM is from, as well, since move descriptions vary between generations normally. (Don't bother noting it if a move TM has differing descriptions between its R/S/E bag description and its D/P/Pt in-game description, but do note it if the descriptions are different within the same generation/games.)
- And thanks for updating those templates; there's a few users who do work on adding info to those, but a small few who actually bother to keep them properly formatted. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 04:19, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

Help!
My signature that I want it to be is - This is abcboy, at, only goes to - This is abcb. Could you help? - This is abcb 16:57, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
- There's a limit to how long your signature is. I believe you're limited to 80 characters only. ht14 16:59, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
- 80 rendered characters. "abcboy" would be what is rendered, so that's not the issue. The issue is that the code itself is about 373 characters, and I believe the signature coding box is limited at around 200 - 255 characters. Perhaps try:
This is {{color2|FF1111|User:abcboy|a}}{{color2|1111FF|User talk:abcboy|b}}{{color2|11BB11|Special:Contributions/Abcboy|c}}{{color2|000000|User:abcboy/Comic|b}}{{color2|000000|User:Abcboy/sandbox|o}}{{color2|000000|Manaphy (Pokémon)|y}}, at,
, but even that might break the limit, and might not work right with the templates... - Kogoro | Talk to me - 17:08, 1 February 2010 (UTC)- It's still too long, though according to my preferences, it says "Your signature is too long. It must not be more than 255 characters long.". However, Notepad says it is only 243 characters Abcboy 17:22, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
- I think the only good way to get it working would be to drop a link or two. Your sandbox is a personal space to test code out and the like, so really, you're the only one who needs a link to it; I don't think you'd need it in your signature. You could do the same for Manaphy. Maybe make the entire "boy" link to your talk page or userpage (or whichever); the cut of two entire links should drop the coding by a good number of characters. Aside from that, I don't think you can get much shorter than Kogoro's suggestion. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 04:41, 2 February 2010 (UTC)

Manga moves
Hi. Last week, I asked TTEchidna if I could put down the attacks used in the Pokemon Adventures manga, and use the anime header. He said yes, but then last night, a user put up your chart, and I started editing. I did about 3, but then I thought something was wrong, and I stopped. However, another user went and did the rest, and got yelled at for it. I guess what I'm trying to say is, are we allowed to use your template, or no? Littlmiget123 20:06, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
- Well, don't use the template from my userspace; that's just for testing purposes at the moment.
- If you want to get started on the editing though, I can go ahead and move it to mainspace; I don't think there are any large changes we'll need to make, so it should be fine as-is. I'll let you know when it's up. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 22:39, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

Hi. How do I switch the screen from the one with Erika to the original one? The tabs that are usually at the top of the page are like in the middle of it, so I can't click on anything at the top of the page without going to the main screen. Littlmiget123 14:11, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

I noticed last time you beat MAGNEDETH, and I found another one. Can unprotect this page, or even redirect it to List of key items in Generation IV#Sport Ball. --SnorlaxMonster 09:37, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
- Wait, did you mean redirect it to Poké Ball#Sport Ball? There's no key item known as Sport Ball, as far as I know.
- Sport ball (without the capital B) already redirects correctly, and searching for Sport Ball (with the capital) just uses the un-capital B redirect, so I'll just unprotect the page in question instead. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 12:07, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

As I brought up at User_talk:TTEchidna/Pokédex, I think we need color templates for Generations. Currently I think we use third version colors for that, but those hardly go with each other. I suggest using the colors in the HGSS Pokédex guide, that is to say:
- Gen I = Green
- Gen II = Yellow
- Gen III = Red
- Gen IV = Violet
From what I can tell, you're the person to go to for things like this; do you think such a change is feasible? --AndyPKMN 14:39, 9 May 2010 (UTC)
- HGSS Pokédex guide? I'm not sure what that is; is that in-game, or an actual physical guidebook?
- Source aside, I like the idea of using set "generation colors", although the choice of color seems like something that would be disputed often. In the case of TTE's template specifically, it probably doesn't even need colors there, but for other templates and such, if we do use colors, it would be good to have an easy set of colors to use. I'll discuss it a bit with the other EB members when I get the chance, too. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 19:35, 9 May 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for considering it. Just so you know, I'm referring to the actual guidebook put out by tPCI. --AndyPKMN 20:48, 9 May 2010 (UTC)

Update
Ok, I hope I'm not bothering that much, so far, overlapped templates are gone (for now), but there are some templates in here, that don't read -moz, I tried changing it to -webkit, and Google Chrome handles it pretty well, although there's a little problem with the inner border, BUT, Mozilla Firefox doesn't read -webkit, how can we fix this problem? 聖人 wat 10:44, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
- That's actually quite simple. Replace the -moz sections with the
{{roundy}}
template and we're away and laughing. —darklordtrom 11:03, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Template issue - Safari on ipod Touch
Hi.
Long time lurker, first time 'talker'. There seems to be a small issue with the new template on the Ipod Touch (Safari). The left nav renders on the left allright... but only AFTER the main content page. So if the content and the nav panes were on a grid of 4 boxes, the content would all be in the upper right box and the left nav in the lower left box. Know what I mean?
One has to scroll thru the entire content screen to see the beginning of the left nav (still on the left). This is troublesome when one frequently utilizes the left nav search box. It's like a drug!
Any investigation / fix expected?
Thanks!
ktsd
- Hmm, by "template" you mean the page layout, correct?
- Nothing in the current site layout is modified as far as sizing or position, so if it's displaying incorrectly on your iPod, unfortunately that's just an issue with MediaWiki itself (or more specifically, the Monobook skin).
- By their nature, most mini or mobile browsers mess up layouts in one way or another, so it's especially frustrating to attempt to fix. In this case, I don't believe there's anything I can do about it. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 19:00, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
Sprites in Signatures
I know that the Signature policy does not allow images in signatures, but I've seen some people with sprites of Pokémon in their signatures, particularly the Heartgold/Soulsilver overworld sprites. Does this violate the policy? --PhantomJunkie 05:09, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry, I accidentally hit the second-level headline button a few times. xD PhantomJunkie 05:24, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
- It does, yes; overworld sprites are images, and are disallowed as such. If you do see people with signature violations like this, contact an admin about it so they can give them a warning. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 05:33, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
lololol hai geo
hey geo, since you're never on msn, ill have to abuse this site's poor poor bandwidth. how commonly used are emulators for pokemon games? i know d/p has some silly wifi friendcode thing but i'm thinking more about battling for generation 3. vba is boring when you don't have anyone to battle with D:
also the kids are like 15 years old now? i forget lol. did we start at 12 or 13?
k im done. get on msn moar Totallynotnova 23:58, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
- I wouldn't know the usage ratios of emulators, I've never touched them myself (and discussion of emulators in detail is more or less taboo, so not a lot of people randomly chat about it).
- If it's battling you're looking for though, surely there's some emulators designed to simply allow competitive battling in gen.3. I know Shoddy is the main place to battle competitively in gen.4, there might be options within that for earlier generations as well (never checked it myself).
- And the kids are probably 15-ish now. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 03:42, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
Sprites
I don't know who to ask about this so, I'll ask you. Is Bulbapedia all of a sudden trying to eradicate the listing of sprite differences in trivia? The reason I'm asking is because other users seem to have a problem with me posting something about Suicune's sprites, but yet every other Pokémon on this site has at least one thing written about sprite differences. And by differences, I mean designs that are different from the official artwork and/or current gen sprites. Personally, I don't see any problem with it as long as speculation isn't tagged along with it, which someone actually tried doing by making up excuses to not write the differences up. But I wanted to know what you thought. Someone told me that it was useless/pointless trivia. Well duh, trivia is suppose to be. That's what makes it trivia. Thank you --いぬみみ 15:37, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
- What were you trying to add? Bulbapedia discourages sprite trivia because it can easily overload a page with nitpicky trivia points, especially with older sprites. But if the sprite is radically different than the Sugimori art (such as Koffing's Red and Green sprite), we can sometimes find a place for it. And finally, no, trivia should not be useless or pointless. Good trivia must be interesting and informative, despite not contributing to the main body of a page. --AndyPKMN 19:15, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
- I can understand the nitpicking. I was adding that Suicune's hexagon piece in G/S is purple and that its chin is blue instead of white in Crystal, which does not match any other artwork from the G/S days or current sprites and artwork. And I guess I didn't mean "pointless" but it's information that is not something that is useful for the article to be complete but just something extra that is interesting, as you said. --いぬみみ 20:20, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
- The majority of sprite trivia is too trivial even for trivia (I'm so cool, I used trivia three times in a sentence). With the older games being on systems that didn't support a ton of colors, as well as a general increase in detail as the years have passed, there are bound to be tons of sprite differences, and sorting the notable from the normal is often more work than it's worth. This is why we've had rules against sprite trivia in general.
- Like AndyPKMN mentioned though, there are occasional exceptions that find their way in, where sprites have changed drastically between generations, but a majority of it isn't worth listing. (like you said, trivia doesn't need to have a point, but it certainly should be at the least interesting, if not also informative.) When in doubt, asking about a particular bit of trivia is certainly the way to go; in Suicune's case, it's debatable (it looks to me like the purple in the G/S sprites was being used as a bit of shading, although it is odd that it was changed in Crystal). But changes in that vein are generally notable (providing they're drastic enough, and appear to have been on purpose). -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 03:40, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
- Okay, thank you. And I agree, since the colors were limited in the G/S days. Do you think it should be added to Suicune's then because it is so different? --いぬみみ 00:22, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
- I'm on the fence about this one; if it was originally meant to be purple, then yes, it's notable, but it's entirely possible they used purple there to make it look more like a dark blue (either way, it's not entirely purple, so you can't tell for sure which color they intended it to be). I'd ask someone else for a second opinion on it. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 17:12, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

Co-leader
I want to step in as the co-leader. I have a lot of experience with the moves in the games.--Dbeckelheimer6 14:59, 13 August 2010 (UTC)Dillan Beckelheimer
- I'll keep you in mind. I'm primarily looking for users who have been around long enough that I can get a good idea of their experience, but with a possible re-work to the entire Projects network sometime in the future, I also don't want to make any moves just yet (hah, pun).
- Just keep doing what you're doing, I've already noticed you've been doing a lot of good work on the Emerald walkthrough. And just let me know if you run into any problems (I don't check my messages every hour like some of the other admins do, but I do check regularly). -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 17:26, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Growth?
Hey. You're the admin who most recently changed something, and you're the nicest on here, so I'll go to you with this question. Why is Growth protected, do you know? Littlmiget123 01:03, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
- It's rumored that in Gen.V, Growth will raise both Atk and Sp. Atk, so the article is protected to prevent people from trying to update that before we have some sort of confirmation. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 03:30, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
- Ah, okay. Thanks very much. It's just a shame that some people ruin it for everyone, though. I guess I'll edit my article at another time. Thanks! Littlmiget123 03:37, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
Co-leader job
I might be interested in being co-leader. I wouldn't be able to contribute all that much time but I am very experienced with moves in the mystery dungeon series especially. I haven't done many major edits yet because I didn't have much direction. I've mostly just patrolled around making minor edits but if I have a specific goal in mind I can get things done. Alex726my talk page 10:52, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
- There are a lot of needed wanted pages. That's a goal: books, anime staff, manga, decks, etc. MaverickNate 22:58, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
I kind of meant that if i have a goal within my expertise I could get things done. I don't really know anything about Pokémon books, manga, or the TCG. I did look through the list of wanted pages to see if there was anything "within my expertise" a while ago and didn't find anything but I did create the page for the Secret Bazaar. Moves are one of the things that I know a lot about so that's why I think I could be good for the job. I think I'll let the project leader decide if I'm good enough, though.Alex726my talk page 00:29, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
- That's why you research and learn about the things that are needed. Make the things within your expertise. That's what I did. I'm just saying, don't claim there isn't any direction. MaverickNate 02:33, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
- I think, for the time being, I'm going to remove the notice about needing a co-leader; while I still do need someone to step in and help out with the side games, I'm not positive what, if anything, might be changed in the future with the Projects system, so I'm hesitant to make any changes.
- If it's direction you need, though, I believe a lot of the side game move articles are sorely lacking in, well, content; that being my major problem, I've never played a single side-game, so I don't even know if there's anything missing.
- What I'm looking for above all else is someone who is both willing and able to find and improve these articles, or at the very least, someone who can find these issues and is willing to coordinate improvements (you know, leadership skills). -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 06:09, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
- Ok. I understand. I'll look into some of the articles and see what I can do. Alex726my talk page 22:41, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

If there are any of them with graphical issues/is stuck in Gen III, I'll replace them. Is that OK? Examples are found in my album:

Hello
Hello. I read on the Signature page that you are the go-to-guy/girl for wikicode. Any idea as how to make a userpage as cool as yours? -- ラコノスケ (Excited for Generation V. You? | Talk to meh :3) 00:43, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
- Tables and divs are your friend. (both can be used to make content boxes on a page.)
