Well, we all know the issue about being a laziness template. But that was when the former EiC was in charge. And I don't get it why it should not be an universal template. Even SM agreed with it being a universal template.----DJWolfy01:31, 4 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
We're keeping it, it might be a laziness template but it helps get stuff done in less characters. It's especially done for side games. Masatoshitalk01:50, 4 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
Yeah that's what I said, it should also be used for every word beginning with Pokémon, for example {{g|Center}} or {{g|anime}}, not only for games.----DJWolfy07:56, 4 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Snorlax said you are player of Black 2 (or maybe other Masatoshi? I don't remember, I think he meant you)... well, if YES... then I need help with Route 4, more precisely the stuff that is marked as White 2-only in some way. I need someone to check Black 2 if stuff is really exclusive to White 2, or everything is the same as in White 2. I mean, I have feeling that the street in Route 4 differs between Black 2 and White 2. Marked +-+-+ (talk) 19:14, 27 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

I don't know why you reverted my edit on 8 December. Episode N's start date was known as soon as it was announced. We always knew that the episode I put the tag after was the correct break point, we just didn't have episode titles for any Episode N episodes yet at the time. Digifiend (talk) 23:29, 21 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
The date wasn't added, we don't like adding something ambiguous like Season 16 continues into Best Wishes Season 2 Episode N below.. That would lead people to think the season would be ending then, which as far as I know, is not. Masatoshitalk10:16, 23 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

For what, specifically? For a table? If so, when creating a table (you can also check here on how to create them) at the beginning of it, you should add class="expandable", the class will then wrap everything below the first line. If all else fails, study the code of a table that has it. Masatoshitalk23:32, 29 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Multiple Edits
Latest comment: 17 March 20132 comments2 people in discussion
Hi! Thanks for dropping a message.
I know it seemed like I edited the same page multiple times but I was actually editing different sections of the same page, and the page being Mount Coronet, it had a lot of sections. I was adding the items obtained in Platinum in the area and each floor was edited and saved in its own sub-topic.
I do use the preview function every time to make sure there's no typo or code error. I'll try to minimise multiple edits in the future though I don't think any other page needs as much editing as that one.
It would be better if you could edit the page overall, actually. If you had to leave while editing, you can save the code in a .txt file and then resume your work when you're back. It's just to prevent server strain. Thank you for understanding. Masatoshitalk02:53, 17 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Why is that a rule. I dont get how removing a message isnt "clean". I normally on like wikipedia remove blocks, spams and stuff that I dont care about and move messages to archives. Oh and yeah It is "stupid" and I haven't reverted it. BlackDragon03:44, 19 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
Historical purposes, and so we don't have to warn users again. You have to understand that, while Wikipedia and Bulbapedia run on Mediawiki software, their policies are different. For one, we don't let Anonymous edit for obvious reasons. And we don't have as many servers as Wikipedia has, so that's one of the reasons we enforce a daily limit on userspaces, as well as users only joining in for editing their own userpages. We're mostly here to contribute to the wiki in information. Masatoshitalk03:48, 19 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
People do that? Thats weird. I get it, But ya know people could say that, instead of being rude. I dont think anons should be able to edit anyways...trolls, but I see the reason for it, still thinks its weird but I archived it. I just like removing dead messages that wont get replies. And archive messages with more than a few replies. Its just how I like to do things. But as for the userpage. If I have 3 big edits and I see a mispelled word, it would be against the rules to change it before I forget. Thats what someone told me even if I edit like 10 times that much in the main page.
Why cant I edit the 6th gen pages either. I have sprites for the pokemon made directly from the official image, like the rest are. BlackDragon04:01, 19 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
If you're going to archive, might as well archive everything so we can keep a closer track of your history, you can't just move your block reason message away and call it a day.
The Generation VI pages might be protected, unless you're trying to upload the sprites. If so, head to Bulbagarden Archives to upload them.
You have to move everything. Historic purposes, and as such, they should be left undisturbed unless it's vandalism.
Doing things your way doesn't always work, especially in a place with rules. We're not overreacting, we're only enforcing the rules. And please, do not recreate the page unless you move the full talk page, nor do create an empty page for the sake of having a working link. Masatoshitalk04:15, 19 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
"If you're going to archive, 'might as well archive everything so we can keep a closer track of your history" Sorry might that doesnt seem like a rule, just your opinion. Oh and we who? But I archived it. And have a space holder is not against the rules. Cant I just like archive the first 4 in order and keep newer still active ones? Besides is there like a bot on here that automatically archives sections older than a set time??? just wondering. BlackDragon17:11, 19 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
This section tells you what to do. My opinion is part of a rule. As part of the Staff, it is my duty to enforce the rules, as well as the rest of our staff. If you're going to move it to an archive, move it entirely and start clean. Having space holders are pointless and we're not going to have blank pages, might as well delete it and wait until there's content. And no, we don't have a bot that does that. Lastly, please take this week in order to read the policies and start indenting your comments. Masatoshitalk01:10, 20 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Indeed, the Polish wiki is, unfortunately, dead. That doesn't mean the webmaster of a site can come here, and create an article promoting their site; it is borderline advertising, which is a bannable offense. And finally, your article did not meet the notability requirements, a wiki with barely over 180 articles is not really a popular site (at least yet). I hope you can understand my reasoning. Masatoshitalk18:21, 24 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Beta is not the correct term to use for changed/removed content in video games, as the term "beta" refers to the stage of development where the game is tested before being shipped (i think?), it is highly unlikely huge amounts of data would be removed from the game at such a late point. Calling them "Beta elements" is disgustingly inaccurate. On the other hand, referring to such unused/changed content as things changed from the "Development cycle" is a more acceptable term. Please consider reverting back to "Development cycle", as beta is a horribly inaccurate term to use, especially since this is meant to be the Pokémon equivalent of Wikipedia. --TheTruth aka Relicant 17:14, 30 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Could you also refrain from editing my own userspace? That text you removed was hidden, you had no rights to touch it. Thanks. --TheTruth aka Relicant 18:36, 30 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
You still haven't responded to my initial question. And don't try to hide behind Maverick Nate's response because it wasn't the answer I wanted. It was just a link about discussing moves/deletes/etc with the focus being on the "Beta" Pokémon games pages. nevermind about this that attitude will get me banned and i wont be able to fresh start sorry. --TheTruth aka Relicant 18:52, 30 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
While it may be inaccurate to call them "Beta elements", it can't be changed by anyone, especially without a proper discussion. What Nate posted was a link to the place where the renaming and possibly moving will be discussed. I would also suggest to wind down on the accusations (like you seemed to do right now), since Nate provided the answer you really needed. He's trying to make this smoother and official. This is a question better asked to the Archives Liaison, Kogoro. And upon further inspection, you already have asked her about this. I can't do anything that isn't without her consent, so please wait until she decides to unlock Archives, and additionally, try to ask one person only, and unless that person redirects you to someone else, try to stick with whatever that user said. At first, I would like to say that your work on updating the Pokémon menu sprites has been quite remarkable. I really like when someone puts effort into doing some improvements.
Secondly, could you please also upload the menu sprites for the Mega Evolved Pokémon? They should come in handy at various pages. Also, I was just wondering, should the Kalos Pokémon have their animated menu sprites uploaded? Just thinking.
In case you would be so nice to do at least some of these things, you can be sure that me and the rest of Bulbapedia will be very glad. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 13:35, 3 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Oops! Sorry for taking so long to reply back! Real life's kept me busy. Thanks, and I would gladly upload those, but our source doesn't seem to have it either, so we're kinda hitting a wall in there. Regarding the animated menu sprites, that would mean capturing all the Pokémon's menu sprites again, record the frames and then edit them one by one. It's possible but it's too tedious and expensive (since you still need the capture device). Masatoshitalk15:39, 16 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

I noticed you've uploaded images of the models of all(at least I think you got them all, I just checked a bunch of random Pokemon from beginning to end) of the Pokemon in X and Y, are there plans for these to be added to the pages for every Pokemon under sprites or maybe a new section called "models" to be more accurate? If so when what ever way is decided I'd be willing to help add them to the pages, unless that is all figured out of course. ArchedThunder (talk) 05:53, 7 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
Not all of them, I received help from Spriteit (who ended up doing more than I did), and Kogoro. Yes, there are plans to add them, but we're waiting until Kogoro states that we are ready to begin the transition. As for permission for you to add some of them, I don't see why not in my opinion; but you have to wait until what the aforementioned happens, because this isn't going to be just adding the models onto the articles. So I'd ask you to be patient until then. Masatoshitalk08:31, 7 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

I actually commented at the Spinoff page. And haven't heard further. Last I asked, a couple of days ago, it was still being worked on.
I can pick up from Victini onwards as I think from there on can be done rather quickly, so I can quickly edit my list that I compiled from Rumble World. The only thing missing is Wii U, and your updates don't include that or Gen. VI. So still lots missing, I didn't think it was ready to use yet. CycloneGU (talk) 17:05, 31 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
The templates are up to Generation VI and are there, you don't see them because they're uncommented. You can do that, but I still think it would be wiser if you ask Kogoro before doing anything. Masatoshitalk17:12, 31 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
Exactly. That's kinda what I did here, though I haven't heard back. Both Rumble games I made same as Rumble and Rumble Blast, and Shuffle matches Trozei. I didn't add Battle Trozei as I don't have its data compiled, though I did eventually buy the game and could go after it eventually. CycloneGU (talk) 17:15, 31 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

It was not my intetion to make anything illegal or that would hurt bulbapedia's terms, I just did it because I thought it was permitted since another user did it and didn't have the vs artwork deleted. I have a huge question I'd like to ask you. Do you know how I could make the Animated PNG files smaller than 2MB? 'Cause I've noticed that the Bulbagarden Archives doesn't allow uploading of files larger than 2MB, and I'd really like to upload a PNG animation which is 6.72 MB in size. But I've tried every possible way I can make it smaller without any loss, but the lowest I can make it... is 5.27 MB. I've tried compressing standalone .png files and then putting it together with APNG Assembler, but it makes it become 10 MB in size. What should I do? Is there anything you use to make Animated PNG files smaller in size without any frame skipping?—Platinum Lucario (talk) 21:21, 3 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
It made the file bigger. It's now 6.78 MB. I wonder, how come did you upload the animation of the thunderstorm and hurricane from B/W? It's well over 2MB and it's roughly about one megabyte lower than mine. And why did you upload it if no file over 2MB is allowed?—Platinum Lucario (talk) 08:55, 4 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
Then there's a lot going on in the animated file (backgrounds moving and whatnot). Is it from Generation VI? And regarding the big files uploaded in Archives, it's because I'm part of the staff and thus I can circumvent the limit. Masatoshitalk11:26, 4 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
It's a Nintendo 3DS image, for size reasons, we're not uploading animated files that come from the Nintendo 3DS console. Speaking of which, did you get permission to upload Nintendo 3DS/Generation VI related content? Masatoshitalk11:28, 7 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
I haven't uploaded any animated images yet, but I have uploaded model images of traps and tiles that appear in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity. And wait... do I actually have to have permission to upload any images from any Nintendo 3DS games? I didn't know it applied to all 3DS games, I thought it only applied to Generation VI games. If that's the case, then I guess I'm trouble, I'm really sorry for uploading the images of the traps... —Platinum Lucario (talk) 15:26, 7 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
While it's mostly for Generation VI images and media, Gates to Infinity is still a 3DS game. Since we've ran into people uploading images from other people, we're taking measures to ensure that the pictures are from the users themselves and not taken from outlets without permission. It's just for you to be in the clear and free from suspicion. That's a good step regarding verification, I would have done it with Kogoro, but Zesty's a good choice, too. Masatoshitalk16:41, 7 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
That's understandable, it might also be a good idea to change the message, as well as make an update in that notice that appears before uploading files. Since it only states "Generation VI", a user may end up uploading a 3DS image from Generation V, without knowing that the policy applied to all 3DS games, just like what I did. 'Cause it never mentioned "Nintendo 3DS games", just "Generation VI". Just letting you know. ^^' —Platinum Lucario (talk) 17:00, 7 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
Relayed the information, the notice at the top of every Archives pages is now updated to reflect that before uploading any Nintendo 3DS-related content, permission should be asked. Thank you. Masatoshitalk10:34, 8 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

ah, so there's a source to that? i did digging of my own and found nothing pointing to castform being artificial, if there is evidence then the issue is a lack of citation. maybe in the trivia section? Snow rat (talk) 22:51, 16 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
There is. It's a line in the Hoenn games where a Team Magma grunt states that the Weather Institute had created a Pokémon that had something to do with the weather. At first, I had to check before undoing those edits because I didn't recall an actual mention of it being an artificial Pokémon. I believe that it being an artificial Pokémon is bigger than the trivia section, since it's an important part of the Pokémon itself, much like Mewtwo, Genesect, the Porygon line, among others.
