Bidoof (Japanese: ビッパ Bippa) is a Template:Type2 Pokémon.
It evolves into Bibarel starting at level 15.
Biology
Physiology
Bidoof are small brown rodent-like creatures with large front teeth which they use for gnawing on wood. They have round tufts of fur on their tails and a ring of them on their faces. Bidoof has a red nose, a black snout and a paler-colored underside. They also have black, slightly webbed paws. In the anime, it is shown that they can run on two legs like humans.
Gender differences
The tail of a male Bidoof consists of five tufts of fur, while the tail of a female only has three.
Special abilities
Behavior
Bidoof need to constantly gnaw on hard substances to keep their teeth ground down, since they grow constantly. Without something to gnaw on, they become violent because of the pain and inconvenience the unwieldy growing teeth cause.

NPC appearances
- Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness: Bidoof is a member of Wigglytuff's Guild, the second newest recruit next to the player's team. He updates his "Yup Yup" journal over the course of the game.
- Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia: 9 Bidoof are used by Team Dim Sun's Wheeler.
- Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky: Bidoof stars in his own special episode, being the playable character. When Bidoof left home and first joined Wigglytuff's Guild, he often messed things up and wasn't really liked by anyone. One day, whilst visiting the Kecleon Shop, he was confronted by a Snover who gave it an old map before hurrying off. A Gligar and Bagon then appeared to be chasing Snover. The map showed a legendary dungeon known as the Wish Cave where Jirachi sleeps, and after learning about it from Chatot, Bidoof decided to go there so he may make a wish to make himself a stronger explorer. Snover finds Bidoof at the Guild, and together they head off to the Wish Cave. However, upon reaching the end, Gligar and Bagon appeared, and Snover turned against Bidoof. It turns out that it was a trick pulled off by the three, who are a thief gang called Actors. They saw Bidoor's wealth when he visited the Kecleon shop, so they plotted the whole thing to lure Bidoof to the Wish Cave to rob him. Bidoof fights the three, but fails. Before the team robs him, the entire Guild shows up to help him. Bidoof is touched that he is a cherished member of the Guild after all. Wigglytuff helps him blast open a hidden cave where Bidoof can find Jirachi. He finds Jirachi sleeping. It talks in its sleep, warning Bidoof that it attacks in its sleep. Bidoof must defeats it to help it awaken. Bidoof makes his wish and, though given a lot of choices, Bidoof wishes for new juniors to join the Guild so he could help them. The wish is fulfilled when the player and his/her partner joins the Guild, thus ending the story.

Trivia
- A guest comic to the webcomic VGCats parodied Bidoof by giving it the nickname the "Vendor Trash" Pokémon.
- In each region, there is a two-stage Template:Type2 Pokémon encountered early in the region. Bidoof is the Sinnoh variation on this theme, while Rattata, Sentret, and Zigzagoon are those of other regions. Out of all of them however, Bidoof is the only one whose evolution is not pure Normal-type.
- Bidoof's Platinum Pokédex entry references Rattata despite not being in the same regional Pokédex as it.
Origin
Bidoof appears to be based on a beaver, or a gopher. It is particularly similar to the mountain beaver, a primitive relative of beavers lacking tails.
Name origin
Its name is derived from beaver and doofus or tooth. Bidoof's Japanese name Bippa is derived from the English word beaver and 出っ歯 deppa, protruding tooth.
In other languages
- German: Bidiza - From Biber (beaver).
- French: Keunottor - From quenotte (milk tooth) and castor (beaver).
- Korean: 비버니 Beaverni
- Chinese: 乳齒瀨
