Celebi (Japanese: セレビィ Cerebi, German, French: Celebi, Korean: 세레비 Celebi) is a Legendary Psychic/Grass-type Pokémon, first appearing in Generation II. It has only been officially available in the Japanese version of Pokémon Crystal (via Nintendo's Mobile System GB service, which was discontinued on December 14, 2002) and through the Japanese Pokémon Colosseum bonus disk, as well as various promotional events.
Celebi comes with the ability Natural Cure, which heals a status ailment (Burn, Paralyze, Sleep, Poison, Freeze) when the Pokémon is withdrawn from battle.
Celebi does not evolve.

- This Pokémon wanders across time. Grass and trees flourish in the forests in which it appears

- When Celebi dissappears deep in the forest, it is said to leave behind an egg it brought from the future.

- Revered as the gaurdian of the forest, Celebi appears wherever beautiful forest exist.
- Pokémon Emerald
- This Pokémon came from the future by crossing over time. It is thought that so long as Celebi appears, a bright and shining future awaits us.
Name origin
Celebi's name may be a combination of celestial and being.
It may be based on a fairy or dryad.

In the anime
Celebi first appeared in Pokémon 4Ever. A Pokémon hunter was after it and Celebi traveled 40 years into future to escape from him; taking the young Sammy Oak along with it. Vicious eventually captured the Time traveling Pokémon in a Dark Ball and used it to destroy the forest. Ash and Sammy managed to snap Celebi out of The Iron Masked Maruader.
Celebi also made an appearance in Pokémon Chronicles. In the episode it was in, Celebi took Ritchie back in time to help stop the destruction of a Pokémon Center.
