The Parcel (Japanese: おとどけもの Parcel), originally known as Oak's Parcel, is a Key Item introduced in Generation I.
Terminology
The Japanese name of this item is the same in all games, regardless of the player delivering it to Professor Oak in the Kanto-based games or to Barry in the Sinnoh-based games.
The English name was originally adapted as "Oak's Parcel". In Generation IV, this name was shortened to "Parcel" since the item was being delivered to Barry for the first time. However, the short English name remained even as the player was required to deliver this to Professor Oak again in Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!.

When delivered to Professor Oak at his laboratory, he will give a PokédexRBYFRLG and a set of Poké BallsFRLG, or a set of Razz BerriesPE to both the player and the rival.
Some additional events happen once the Parcel is delivered:
- The old manRBYFRLG or the Team Rocket trioPE stops blocking Viridian City's north exit.
- The rival becomes available for an optional battle on Route 22.
- The player will be able to obtain the Town Map, receive Professor Oak's evaluationRBYFRLG at his laboratory or his PC, battle or trade Pokémon with other games, and buy items from Viridian City's Poké Mart.
- One of Professor Oak's Fame Checker entries is unlocked.FRLG
Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Brilliant Diamond, and Shining Pearl
When brought to the player's rival in Jubilife City's Trainers' School, the Parcel will be opened, revealing that it contains two Town Maps. The player and their rival take one each.
