(Japanese: ギアル Giaru) is a Template:Type2 Pokémon introduced in Generation V.
It evolves into Gigiaru starting at level 38, which then evolves into Gigigiaru starting at level 49.
Biology
Physiology
Giaru resembles two gears, with six cogs each, interlocking. The cogs of the gears are a light gray, while the central regions are much darker. Their left eyes are a simple "X", while their right eyes are very wide with a black pupil and a white cornea. They have round green noses and small mouths that are held wide open.

- Giaru and its family are currently the only pure Steel-type Pokémon related by evolution.
- Along with Dratini, Larvitar, Remoraid, and Trapinch, Giaru is one of the few basic-stage Pokémon to learn Hyper Beam.
