Synopsis

Ash's battle with Katie is still underway. Ash has three Pokémon left while Katie has four. Since a trainer has lost 3 Pokémon, the League rules call for the arena to be changed. They are now fighting on a Water field. Ash decides to use this to his advantage and sends out Corphish while Katie calls on Golduck once again.

Corphish falls victim to Golduck's Confusion attack, unable to move. Finally, it uses a Crabhammer to send Golduck flying before pelting it with BubbleBeam. Golduck is knocked out!

Katie sends Venomoth out again. Venomoth uses Supersonic to confuse Corphish, so Ash recalls Corphish and sends in Swellow. Swellow uses an Aerial Ace to dodge Stun Spore, then follows up with a Quick Attack to finish off Venomoth.

Katie then chooses Scizor to fight. Swellow uses a Double Team to counter Metal Claw. Scizor is able to damage Swellow with Hidden Power, but Swellow uses a super-powered Quick Attack to take Scizor out of the fight.

Now Katie is down to her last Pokémon. She chooses a Walrein. Walrein uses an Ice Beam, which Swellow is barely able to dodge (its wings are injured by the ice). Walrein then dives underwater and uses Ice Beam again, before Swellow can have a chance to dodge. Swellow is unable to battle.

Ash sends Corphish back out, and its obviously still exhausted from its last fights. Corphish uses a BubbleBeam but is caught off guard by Walrein's Body Slam and gets knocked out.

Ash has only one Pokémon left — Grovyle. Grovyle's Leaf Blade attack does a lot of damage against Walrein, but Walrein keeps evading by going underwater. Ash gets the idea to have Grovyle use Leaf Blade on the water, disrupting the current and forcing Walrein to surface. Grovyle then blasts the defenseless Walrein with Bullet Seed and knocks it out.

Ash wins!

Katie shakes Ash's hand gracefully, thanking him for a great battle.

Meanwhile, Morrison and Tyson are both finishing up their latest battles. Morrison's Metang takes out a Machoke while Tyson's Meowth takes down a Rhydon. All three of them have now advanced to the final 16 of the tournament.

Ash and Morrison go to the Pokémon Center to see the newest matchups. Amazingly, they're scheduled to battle each other! Ash is excited, but Morrison seems despondent at having to battle his friend.

The next day, Ash & Morrison's battle on the Ice Field is about to begin. Ash sends out Corphish to battle Morrison's Girafarig. Morrison half-heartedly tells Girafarig to use Light Screen, but Corphish effortlessly smashes through with ViceGrip. Corphish then uses a Crabhammer to knock out Girafarig.

Morrison recalls his defeated Pokémon and simply stares at the battlefield, unable to make a move. The referee tells the crowd that unless Morrison sends out a new Pokémon, his actions will be considered a forfeit.

Everyone, including Ash, waits in suspense for Morrison to act as the episode ends...
