Charizard 'M's characteristics

It is not to be confused with Glitchy Charizard, a similar but unrelated glitch caused by the Mew glitch. Charizard 'M is a different from the typical 'M, and causes significantly more damage to the game. Charizard 'M can also change all of a player's party Pokémon into Charizard 'M, but the moves and type do not change, and putting these "transformed" Pokémon into a box makes the other Pokémon Charizard 'M also.

Charizard 'M can be obtained by doing the following:

  • Catch a 44Hy in the Yellow version by doing Method #3 of the Mew glitch using a Pokémon with a special stat of 192, or trade a Lowercase A glitch from Red/Blue
  • Evolve the 44Hy into a Q (the Yellow equivalent of Charizard 'M)
  • Trade the Q to the Red/Blue and it will become Charizard 'M

Unlike other Glitch Pokémon, a Charizard 'M's ID number is always #000 and its Original Trainer will either be blank or a set of letters partially from the player's name. As a result, it is impossible to nickname a Charizard 'M. Its cry is static and sometimes causes the background music to end. Charizard 'M is not the same glitch as 'M. Its type, like a normal Charizard's, is Fire/Flying. (See above reference.) There are reports that Charizard 'M can be used to swap moves of Pokémon stored in the PC, depending on the order they are withdrawn. [1] Additionally, Charizard 'M is not recognized by the game as a Pokémon in many circumstances. If a player places it in his or her party, it will render all other Pokémon invisible (see above reference). Furthermore, Charizard 'M cannot be healed at a Pokémon Center.

Sometimes, if game link activity goes wrong (typically from faulty link cables or dirty connectors), glitched Pokémon may be produced, in which a Charizard 'M is a possible result.

Trivia

  • Charizard 'M is one of two Glitch Pokémon to be based off of Charizard (The other one being Glitchy Charizard).
  • Charizard 'M marks the only time a single Glitch Pokémon has the ability to change four times (Lowercase A traded from Red/Blue to Yellow to become 44Hy, 44Hy evolved into Q in the Yellow, and Q traded to the Red/Blue to become Charizard 'M)
