We’ve quelled Lumiose’s Rogue Mega Evolutions for now, so it’s time to return to the Z-A Royale. Your phone will buzz, and you’ll receive the details for your next promotional match. This time you’re pitted against Canari the streamer that Naveen is a huge fan of. The only issue is that nobody knows where Canari is to challenge her.
Naveen knows how to get the information, but is worried that your promotional battle will disrupt her streaming schedule. However, he agrees to help you out if you can beat him in battle. This starts Main Mission 14: Reaching Rank E. In your battle with Naveen he’ll use a level 33 Ariados, Sableye, and Scraggy. Once you beat him, he suggests you grab your ticket before he lets you know the next steps.
The Battle Zone
This battle section is a huge step up in difficulty as you now need 36,000 points in order to earn your ticket. It’s possible to earn enough points in one night, but be warned that you will likely need a second trip. Bonus cards are vital in making sure you don’t have to return on a different day. Don’t forget that you don’t need to wait for the time to turn to night, you can rest at a bench to move time forwards.
Canari’s Quiz
Meet up with Naveen, and he will tell you the location, password and give you an earpiece so that he can communicate with you during the quiz and feed you the answers. As you try to enter the quiz you’ll be asked for the password. Tell the guard “Let’s Go DYN4MO”.
The first round of the quiz is true or false. You can try this for yourself but don’t worry. Even if you get the answers wrong Naveen will let you know the correct answer so you can change it up. The correct answers are: True, False, True.
The second round asks you to bring Eelektross its favourite treat. Naveen will tell you to meet him at Café Gallant and marks the location on the map. You can activate the mission marker, or head to the location just north of Wild Zone 3. Here Naveen will order and hand you the Super Lumiose Galette. Return to Canari to hand over the treat.
In order to have a chance at the final question you will need to win a battle against the other fan. He has a level 34 Helioptile, Emolga and Raichu. Once he’s been defeated, she’ll ask the final question. Naveen will tell you the answer, you just have to select it; 4. Grandpa. Once you’ve won the quiz, you ask Canari for your promotion match.
The fight for Rank E
Follow the mission marker to Canari’s location. However, before you’re allowed to start your promotion match you have to battle Tarragon. He is a Ground-type specialist with a level 36 Hippowdon and Diggersby, and his ace, a level 37 Mega Excadrill. This is particularly dangerous given Excadrill’s move diversity and access to Swords Dance. Hippowdon can also be annoying covering the field in Stealth Rocks.
You now have access to your promotion match against Canari. She is an Electric-type specialist with a level 37 Heliolisk, level 38 Ampharos and Stunfisk, and her ace, a level 39 Mega Eelektross. The Eelektross receives a heavy nerf as there are no abilities in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, meaning that it is able to be hit by Ground-type moves.
Once you beat her in battle, Canari will give you TM066 Volt Switch and an autographed plush to give to Naveen. She thanks you for reigniting her passion for battling, and with that Main Mission 14 is complete. You then return to Hotel Z to give Naveen his reward and eat another well-deserved croissant curry.
