Walkthrough:Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl/Part 15

This is the Bulbapedia walkthrough for Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
These pages follow the remade Nintendo Switch iteration, not Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. The guide for those games can be found here.

Route 211 (East)

The eastern section of Route 211 runs from Celestic Town west toward Mount Coronet. Explore this route briefly after finishing in Celestic Town, then Fly to Hearthome City to challenge the Hearthome Gym, which is now available since Fantina has returned. TM29 (Psychic) and a Zinc are on a high ledge but require Rock Climb, which is not available until later in the game. Ruin Maniac Harry gives you TM77 (Psych Up) x3 after the battle.

Hearthome Gym

Fantina has returned to Hearthome City and the Hearthome Gym is open. The gym specializes in Ghost-type Pokémon. Dark- and Ghost-type moves are effective against Ghost types. Normal-type Pokémon are immune to Ghost-type moves, providing a safe option against Fantina's team but Ghost Pokémon are also immune to Normal moves.

The gym building spans multiple floors, and you must navigate through a series of rooms, choosing the correct doors on each floor to progress toward Fantina at the top. The correct doors to take to reach Fantina are **right**, **middle**, **left** and **right**. The other doors have trainers.

Note that one of the trainers has *Drifloon* and is recommended to battle to fill your Pokédex if you haven't captured Drifloon at Valley Windworks on a Friday as it is the only Drifloon encounter outside the wild one.

Trainers with a Vs. Seeker by their names, when alerted for a rematch using the item, may use higher-level Pokémon.

Upon defeating Fantina, you receive the Relic Badge and TM65 (Shadow Claw) x5. The Relic Badge is Sinnoh's fifth gym badge and enables the use of Surf as a field move. Fantina's strategy relies on status conditions: Drifblim uses Will-O-Wisp to inflict burns, drains HP with Strength Sap, and its Zoom Lens boosts the accuracy of Hex, which deals double damage to statused targets. Mismagius has Levitate, granting it immunity to Ground-type moves. Gengar's Cursed Body can disable moves that hit it. Drifblim's Aftermath ability deals damage to any Pokémon that knocks it out with a contact move.

After the gym, Fly to Floaroma Town and head north along Route 205 to access Fuego Ironworks by Surf.

Fuego Ironworks

Fuego Ironworks is an industrial factory located west of Route 205, north of Floaroma Town. Surf across the river on Route 205 and head west to reach the factory entrance. The factory owner, Mr. Fuego, gives you a Fire Stone when you reach him inside. Navigate through the factory floor and conveyor belt areas to find him at the heart of the building. TM35 (Flamethrower) is found near the boiler in the factory interior.

Floaroma Meadow (North)

The northern section of Floaroma Meadow is accessible by Surfing east from the Fuego Ironworks area. Pick up the Miracle Seed in the northwest corner and the Leaf Stone near the south of this section. Several hidden recovery items and Honey are scattered throughout the meadow.

Route 219

Route 219 is a short water route south of Sandgem Town, requiring Surf to traverse. Fly to Sandgem Town and Surf south to access it. It connects to Route 220 and the southern ocean routes. A pair of Tubers at the start will challenge you to a Double Battle. Finneon can be caught here with the Good Rod, and Clamperl with the Super Rod.

Route 220

Route 220 continues south from Route 219. Two small sandy islands break up the route, providing places to rest between the water sections. Chinchou and Lanturn can be caught with the Super Rod, making this one of the only place outside the Grand Underground to find them in Sinnoh. Pick up the Splash Plate on the first sandbar and Carbos in the shallows past the second.

Route 221

Route 221 is a peninsula extending south and west from Route 219, accessible via the western fork off Route 220. It has both land and water areas, with tall grass containing a variety of Pokémon including Gastrodon, Floatzel, and Sudowoodo. Stunky and Skuntank appear in the grass in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, while Glameow and Purugly appear in their place in Pokémon Shining Pearl. TM81 (X-Scissor) is found between the two grass patches. An elderly man in a house on the route gives you an Expert Belt on your first visit. Pure Incense, which reduces the encounter rate of wild Pokémon, is found west of the house.

At the far southern end of Route 221, Ramanas Park is inaccessible until after you obtain the National Pokédex. Return here in the post-game to encounter many Legendary Pokémon.

After exploring the southern routes, head to Jubilife City and continue west to Route 218 and Canalave City.
