Walkthrough:Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl/Part 11

This is the Bulbapedia walkthrough for Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
These pages follow the remade Nintendo Switch iteration, not Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. The guide for those games can be found here.

Route 214

Route 214 runs south from Veilstone City toward Valor Lakefront. The route passes through rocky terrain and contains Honey Trees on the western side. Notable wild Pokémon here include Girafarig, Sudowoodo, and Graveler.

Ruin Maniac Cave

The Ruin Maniac Cave (also known as the Maniac Tunnel) is a cave on the west side of Route 214. A Ruin Maniac is digging further into the cave, and the tunnel expands the more Unown forms you have seen in the Solaceon Ruins. At fewer than 10 Unown forms seen, only the entrance chamber is accessible. At 10 or more forms seen, the tunnel is longer with more Hippopotas encounters. At 26 or more forms seen, the full tunnel opens and connects to a chamber containing the "?" and "!" Unown forms.

Hippopotas is found exclusively in this cave (and the Grand Underground) in the early game. It evolves into Hippowdon at level 34 and is a strong Ground-type Sinnoh Pokémon. Pick up TM28 (Dig) near the cave entrance.

Valor Lakefront

Valor Lakefront surrounds Lake Valor in southern Sinnoh. Two scientists are standing at the entrance to the lake and refuse to let anyone through. You will be able to access the lake later in the story. The Hotel Grand Lake complex is located on the lakefront.

Notable wild Pokémon here include Girafarig, which can only be found on Route 214 and Valor Lakefront in the overworld.

Hotel Grand Lake

The Hotel Grand Lake is a resort complex on Valor Lakefront, accessible from the north of Route 213. A Clown in the northwest bungalow will give you TM92 (Trick Room). A woman in one of the bungalows has lost her room key. Find the Suite Key hidden on Route 213 and return it to her for a Lava Cookie.

Seven Stars Restaurant

To the Northwest of Hotel Grand Lake you will find the Seven Stars Restaurant that contains several trainers who will fight in double battles.

Route 213

Route 213 runs west from Valor Lakefront to Pastoria City, passing along a sandy beach. Head west along the route to reach Pastoria City. Dr. Footstep's house is on the east side of the route. Show him a Pokémon with maximum friendship to earn a Footprint Ribbon.

The Suite Key needed for the Hotel Grand Lake side quest is hidden on this route near the north entrance.

The Swimmer trainers on the water section cannot be battled yet as Surf is not available. Return here after obtaining Surf in Part 13 to fully explore this route.

Continue west along Route 213 to reach Pastoria City.
