By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

 • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
 • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
 • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
 • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
 • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
 • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
 • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
 • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
 • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Seafloor Cavern/trapped

Can you be more specific about what room you can get trapped in at the Seafloor Cavern? And if possible, how, in as much detail as you can manage? Tiddlywinks (talk) 06:36, 2 March 2016 (UTC)

I'll try and get a video if I can figure out how to work my Polaroid Cube+, otherwise I'll take pictures. Unowninator (talk) 07:04, 2 March 2016 (UTC)

Well this is embarrassing. I can't remember how to do it anymore, and I'm starting to think I overlooked the cliff. Guess I should delete the fact. *facepalm* Unowninator (talk) 07:21, 2 March 2016 (UTC)

Regarding Raichu

Hello. When someone undoes your edit, please do not simply add it back. If you'd like to start a discussion on it, please do so on the talkpage. As it stands, that particular piece of trivia doesn't need to be there. All it really says is that Yellow is the only Gen I game that doesn't have Raichu, and it's not notable. Thanks. Crystal Talian 11:12, 19 March 2016 (UTC)

VC Box printing

I don't think there's any particular difference in the VC Yellow that needs noting regarding the printing options. Let's talk about it.

Now, I only have the Japanese VC Yellow right now. It's possible there might be something different between the JP and US (if that's what you have) VC versions. But anyways, on page 4 of the manual, it only seems to say that you can't change the Print settings in the Options. (Which seems to actually be false. I was able to change them just fine.) Can you quote what you're seeing in your manual?

That aside, though, the option is still in the PC, so I think there's nothing that really needs noting. I mean, of course you can't connect a Game Boy Printer, so no one should expect it to actually work. But playing my US Yellow cartridge, if I try to print a Box I get "Printer Error 2"/"Check the Game Boy Printer Manual." (In my JP VC Yellow, it actually says it's trying to communicate when I select the print Box option. I suppose that's just a difference between the JP and US versions.) Does your VC Yellow (I assume US) say the same thing?

Tiddlywinks (talk) 17:47, 20 March 2016 (UTC)

http://imgur.com/E5gaArB And I just found this one now. http://imgur.com/V1iAAQv Unowninator (talk) 18:27, 20 March 2016 (UTC)
Oops, forgot to mention. When I try printing from the Pokedex, nothing happens. When I try the PC, the music changes until I push (B). Unowninator (talk) 18:29, 20 March 2016 (UTC)
Interestingly, whereas the US VC manual has the exact same wording in both those places, the JP VC manual says different things (like I said, on page 4 it says the setting can't be changed, while on page 9 it actually says the option can't be selected/acted on).
Are you saying that when you try to print a Box, there's no message, no change of any sort except for the music?? It'd be pretty weird for JP vs US VC versions to be that different. O_o
I tried the Pokedex on my Yellow cartridge and it shows the same error message I see when I try to print a Box. But in JP VC, it did absolutely nothing, like you said and like the manual says. But anyway, that'd be for the Pokedex or Game Boy Printer pages. Tiddlywinks (talk) 18:55, 20 March 2016 (UTC)
In case you're interested, here are copies of the Japanese Yellow VC patches and the English Yellow VC patches (the original source). Both versions disable the Pokédex's print option by making it do nothing. I haven't checked what the commented-out print-related patches are for. SatoMew2 (talk) 19:45, 20 March 2016 (UTC)
The point is, if the printing option is mentioned on THAT particular page, it should be mentioned there that it can't be done on the VC. Unowninator (talk) 20:37, 20 March 2016 (UTC)
If the Print option within the PC menu acts the same in the VC as in a cartridge, then no, there is nothing that needs to be mentioned on the Pokémon Storage System page. Tiddlywinks (talk) 21:02, 20 March 2016 (UTC)
OK, I tested the unused patches.
Fix_print also changes the behavior of the Pokédex's print option. Normally, when the Game Boy Printer isn't connected, requesting a print makes the game return Printer Error 2 and play the printer theme, which after being dismissed, moves the cursor back to the Pokémon that the player chose in the Pokédex list. The patch would do the same thing except it would play the button-press sound effect and skip the error altogether.
As to the Japanese-only disable_print_check, it breaks the printer at Summer Beach House if the player tries to print, both when displaying Printer Error 2 (printer not connected) or when the game is printing (printer is connected), causing a freeze. This explains why they didn't use it.
disable_print is the only print-related patch that was used and it changes the behavior of the Pokédex's print option to play the button-press sound effect and do nothing. There are no other patches for Game Boy Printer functionality so everything is the same on both Game Boy and Virtual Console. The printer patches for the French, German, Italian, and Spanish Yellow VC releases are the same ones as the English patches. SatoMew2 (talk) 22:32, 20 March 2016 (UTC)
Sounds good, thanks. =) I'm not sure it's much worth it to try to note what difference there is on the Pokedex or Printer pages (in part because, again, you obviously can't attach a GB Printer), so, at the very least, I won't be touching those myself. =P Tiddlywinks (talk) 22:40, 20 March 2016 (UTC)

Wait, the games got a patch? (I'm in the middle of a game, so I can't check the e-shop right now). Unowninator (talk) 22:45, 20 March 2016 (UTC)

That's basically just referring to what changes were made to the games before they were put up on the VC. Tiddlywinks (talk) 23:36, 20 March 2016 (UTC)

Links/redirects

When you create links, please try to make sure they're not redirects. Taking a recent edit of yours as an example... One simple thing to keep in mind is that most pages are at their official/full title; so our "Brawl" page is only a redirect and the real page is at Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Also, Pokemon should pretty much never be linked by just their name; instead, you should link SPECIES, because all of our species pages are at SPECIES (Pokémon) (like Manaphy (Pokémon)). (You can find a bunch of other useful templates at Bulbapedia:List of link templates. There are a couple that are just like Pokemon species, namely moves and Abilities.)

Thanks. =) Tiddlywinks (talk) 09:10, 26 March 2016 (UTC)

Honestly, I just click Preview & check to see if the links are blue. If they are, I leave them alone. If red, I try to change it. Also, I just checked the Manaphy links, and I fail to see a difference. So I don't quite understand...
Also, I noticed quite a portion of my edits are undone by you. Do you check all new users or something? Unowninator (talk) 16:46, 26 March 2016 (UTC)
Visit Manaphy and Manaphy (Pokémon) in two separate pages (or tabs) and compare the pages. The difference should be pretty obvious. (It's not a huge difference; but still, we prefer not to link redirects.)
I check Recent Changes (not I alone, nor staff alone). I generally check areas of interest to me or anything that could be a "problem", and trivia is rather frequently a "problematic" section. That's all. Tiddlywinks (talk) 17:11, 26 March 2016 (UTC)

Talk page response

Just because there was no response to your comment on the talk page, doesn't mean you can just make the edit anyway. Have more patience, someone will comment in the mean time. If you wanted a quicker response, go to the talk page of the user that reverted you. And to answer, I reverted your edit because it was overly specific.--ForceFire 03:32, 28 March 2016 (UTC)

Unfortunately, patience is one of my weak points. I only undid the edit because I thought if it's not in Recent changes, it's not going to be noticed for a long time. My apologies.

Although I do wish I could have a 3rd vote to break the tie. If someone else agrees with you, I'd stop. Unowninator (talk) 03:35, 28 March 2016 (UTC)

*notices you protected the page* ... You're a moderator, aren't you? Unowninator (talk) 03:38, 28 March 2016 (UTC)
I'm a staff member, yes. Why?--ForceFire 03:40, 28 March 2016 (UTC)

Just asking. But if you are one of the staff, then I guess you have the final say. Very well, I'll stop. Once again, sorry about everything. Unowninator (talk) 03:43, 28 March 2016 (UTC)

Images

Images on Bulbapedia are hosted over on the Bulbagarden Archives. The ability to upload images is limited to autoconfirmed members, so if you're not autoconfirmed on the Archives, just ask a staff member to upload an image for you. On the topic of your image, the low quality and the black borders on the sides lead me to believe that you obtained it from a YouTube video. We do not allow users to obtain content/images from others without permission. Do correct me if I'm wrong, though. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 17:47, 28 March 2016 (UTC)

Yeah, it was from youtube. I didn't think it mattered. My bad. Unowninator (talk) 19:41, 28 March 2016 (UTC)

Gym Leaders/Badges in the anime

A bit of advice: If something keeps getting changed, please check the page's history and any edit summaries to see if there's an explanation (and if you still disagree, discuss it). The In the anime bullet point for the Earth Badge says "given" because that's the only viable option within that list. Just read the sentence that introduces the list. Please do not keep changing it. Tiddlywinks (talk) 09:31, 29 March 2016 (UTC)

Well IMO, I think he earned it fair & square. But if we can't say that, what about just "other", or even an footnote with an asterisk or that underline thing?Unowninator (talk) 19:04, 29 March 2016 (UTC)
The list is about what Misty said. And Misty gave two options: earned or given. So no, we will not create a third one just because someone(s) doesn't like how one of them is characterized.
Nor is there any need for any sort of note. A smart reader can very easily make their own judgement in that regard; there's simply nothing we need to say.
(As an aside, try to indent your responses one space further than the previous person's, using ":". You can take this section as an example. Thanks.) Tiddlywinks (talk) 19:24, 29 March 2016 (UTC)

Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire Version

Please don't create a redirect because of a template error, learn how to use the template. To make it plural just add |s near the end of the template like so: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.--ForceFire 12:37, 30 March 2016 (UTC)

On the other hand, like I mentioned above, using the "game" template with XY or ORAS makes a redirect (since it inserts "Version" and the Gen VI games don't use that); "g" should really be used instead: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. (I know our game templates are a bit of a mess. =P ) Tiddlywinks (talk) 12:41, 30 March 2016 (UTC)
Adding on to the confusion (sorry!), the "|s" parameter isn't needed when using g. It's only used to make game link to "Pokémon <game> Versions" instead of just "Pokémon <game> Version". I don't think it actually does anything when used with g.
Additionally, just a reminder to try to preview your edits with the Show Preview button. Your recent edit to Cosplay Pikachu created a template redlink that could have easily been caught with a preview.--Cold (talk) 03:34, 1 April 2016 (UTC)

Huh; I thought I fixed that?

Edit: Okay, now I see what happened: I typed it in, but forgot to save it. *facepalm* And I didn't forget about Preview; I just misclicked again. *facepalms again* Unowninator (talk) 03:41, 1 April 2016 (UTC)

Ah, don't worry about it then, we've all been there. Just try to be more careful in the future :)--Cold (talk) 04:11, 1 April 2016 (UTC)

Creating pages

Please do not create pages with no article content as you did on SpotPass. Because there was a previous article in another user's userspace, their article should be moved to the mainspace by a staff member rather than a new page being created. --Abcboy (talk) 04:43, 5 April 2016 (UTC)

Huh? I'm not sure I understand. I found nothing on Spotpass when I did a search. Unowninator (talk) 15:46, 5 April 2016 (UTC)

Reverting Edits

Hello. As I mentioned on Raichu's page, when someone undoes your edit, please do not simply add it back. This is called edit warring and is a blockable offense. If you still think the edit was a good idea, please discuss it on the talk page. Thank you. Crystal Talian 02:16, 7 April 2016 (UTC)

Ughh, I really hate my lack of patience. This is the 2nd time this happened here.

Sorry once again. If you want to block me, do what you will. Unowninator (talk) 02:26, 7 April 2016 (UTC)

Uploading images

You've been told about this, I'm aware, but just to remind you, to upload images you do so by creating an account over at the Archives. Once you've created an account, you must be autoconfirmed yo be able to upload, the requirements for autoconfirmed by the same over at the wiki (a certain amount of mainspace edits and be a user for a while).--ForceFire 03:27, 9 April 2016 (UTC)

I know I have to do a number of edits before I can upload, I just don't know the exact amount I need. Thanks anyway though. Unowninator (talk) 03:31, 9 April 2016 (UTC)

Talk page formatting tips

Not sure if you know this already, but when you're replying to someone on a talk page, put colons (:) in front of your message to indent them, generally one more colon than the person you're replying to. This makes the conversation easier to follow and also places your message on a new line without necessitating a second line break. You can also lead your message with asterisks to start it with a bullet, or lead it with a space, like you did on Talk:Milk Drink (move), to make it appear in that box thing (I'm not sure what use that has, I've rarely seen anybody do that on purpose). You can see some examples of what I'm talking about on the wikicode page (bottom of the first table), and in some of the messages on this talk page.--Cold (talk) 23:18, 15 April 2016 (UTC)

So it was a space that did it, huh? Okay, thanks for the tip, as well as the link. Unowninator (talk) 23:46, 15 April 2016 (UTC)
Just to piggyback on a related topic, please don't leave HTML comments like this on talk pages (or any page). Something (hidden) like that is just completely pointless. Thanks. Tiddlywinks (talk) 01:12, 16 April 2016 (UTC)

The Preview Button

Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Page button. Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Also, if you want to edit multiple sections of the page, make sure that you click "edit this page" at the top of the page rather than editing it by section. Thanks! --Tiddlywinks (talk) 01:12, 16 April 2016 (UTC)

If you're talking about that box thing, I did use it, but then I thought "it must just be showing me the change I added" for some reason, as in it would vanish upon posting. Turned out not to be the case.
Although I do admit I sometimes forget to use it, that wasn't the case this time. Unowninator (talk) 01:28, 16 April 2016 (UTC)
Yeah, I posted this in part because you've expressed similar surprise at your own edit a few times in the past already. Tiddlywinks (talk) 01:50, 16 April 2016 (UTC)
Just to clear up any possible confusion, since I've seen you make this assumption at least once before: what you see when you click "Show preview" is exactly how it will look when you save the page. There may be a few small exceptions (eg. signature timestamp), but a preview should never specifically indicate what you've changed.--Cold (talk) 02:43, 16 April 2016 (UTC)

I'd like to just remind you about the preview button... This red link should have been trivial to catch (even after you saved, if you were paying attention). If, perhaps, there are just times where you think you know what you're doing and you don't need to preview...do it anyways. If you're ever editing anything more than purest text, a preview will be your first line of defense against simple errors. It's simple and hardly takes any time. Please take advantage of it.

Relatedly, I've noticed a few times you've continued to link redirects (like here and here). I told you how you can recognize redirects. I would appreciate if you could be more conscientious about them. Thanks. Tiddlywinks (talk) 01:38, 9 May 2016 (UTC)

Sorry, force of habit. I'll try harder to remember. Unowninator (talk) 02:29, 9 May 2016 (UTC)

Trivia

Hey, I've noticed that you mainly edit the trivia sections, while there's nothing wrong with that, it's best not to spend all your time on the trivia section and contribute to the mainspace. I've also noted that a majority of your trivia have either been reverted or reworded because they we're either vague or too specific, so I think you should take a step back and decrease your edits t the trivia section. Thank you.--ForceFire 03:57, 17 April 2016 (UTC)

TBH, thinking of trivia is what I enjoy the most for some reason, plus I usually can't think of anything else to do here. And I've never been good at Language Arts, so writing an entire article is out of the question for me. :/ What else is there for me to do? Unowninator (talk) 04:17, 17 April 2016 (UTC)
Editor's Hub is a good place to start. It doesn't have to be a large scale edit, it can be something minor like a spelling/grammar fix. You're on a wiki, you can't say there's nothing to edit :P--ForceFire 04:46, 17 April 2016 (UTC)
Technically, I didn't. :p One thing, how long exactly before I'm allowed to do trivia again? Unowninator (talk) 05:51, 17 April 2016 (UTC)
Didn't say you couldn't, just to slow down on the trivia edits and not focus solely on the trivia.--ForceFire 06:11, 17 April 2016 (UTC)
Oh. Okay, I guess I could try it. Thanks. Unowninator (talk) 06:22, 17 April 2016 (UTC)

Just a reminder that this is still a thing, you are still editing the trivia far too much. Please try to edit anything but the trivia section, I've already linked you to the Editor's Hub.--ForceFire 13:54, 22 April 2016 (UTC)

Once again, please take a step back from the trivia sections. There are more constructive edits you could be making instead. Crystal Talian 05:04, 1 May 2016 (UTC)
*moves to bottom because I almost didn't notice your message, and apparently missed the last one from Force Fire*
*sighs* Sorry, for some reason I thought I've been doing better. I just want to ask, m I at least allowed to delete or correct some inaccurate facts? Unowninator (talk) 05:28, 1 May 2016 (UTC)
So long as that's not the only thing you're doing, that's fine. Try to limit yourself to one or two edits in the trivia section a day. Crystal Talian 06:56, 1 May 2016 (UTC)
Okay. But I don't quite understand, why exactly I need to edit something else in the page if someone else's error is in the trivia? Thanks and good night. Unowninator (talk) 07:04, 1 May 2016 (UTC)

Serebii as a source

So I noticed on Tiddlywinks' talk page, they didn't specifically answer your question about why Serebii is unacceptable as a source, so I thought I'd answer it here to clear up any confusion. The webmaster of Serebii has specifically asked us not to use any material that appears on his site, so we aren't allowed to do so. I haven't heard of any other sites restricting us like htat, so as far as I know, pretty much any other well-known, generally reputable Pokemon site is typically acceptable as a source for most things. :) Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 04:43, 19 April 2016 (UTC)

Really? I wonder why he doesn't want it. Anyway, thanks for telling me this. ^_^ Unowninator (talk) 05:00, 19 April 2016 (UTC)
Uh... not sure where you got that from Pumpkinking, that's not true. Serebii is not a reliable source because it is a fansite and fansites in general aren't reliable sources.--ForceFire 05:12, 19 April 2016 (UTC)

>___> Which is it guys? - unsigned comment from Unowninator (talkcontribs)

I distinctly remember that being the reason commonly cited in edit summaries and on talk pages back around the time X and Y were initially released. Maybe I misunderstood at the time and that was just a time-specific reason, and the fan site thing is a broader reason. Sorry if I was mistaken. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 06:13, 19 April 2016 (UTC)

Exp. All

I just wanted to explain more here since an edit summary doesn't really allow much room for explanation.

My problem basically boils down to, I just don't think it's something that should necessarily be expected from the description. I think if the experience were affected if you had multiple of the item, that might be notable. But this is a glitch, and not necessarily doing anything surprising. It's just not needed.

(Also, FWIW, even Key Items have the "Toss" option in Gen I. That said, Exp. All isn't a Key Item, because you can toss it, whereas you can't for something like the Super Rod.) Tiddlywinks (talk) 00:29, 20 April 2016 (UTC)

Okay, fair enough. Sorry about the undoing. I didn't realize there was more to it. Unowninator (talk) 02:08, 20 April 2016 (UTC)

Shaymin trivia

Quick question about the trivia you added to Shaymin's page - is the second berry in the trivia point supposed to be Rawst Berry or Aspear Berry? I notice the point appears to be about freezing, but Rawst Berry doesn't cure freezing.--Cold (talk) 18:41, 21 April 2016 (UTC)

Whoops. Sorry about that. Unowninator (talk) 19:28, 21 April 2016 (UTC)

cerulean city

you're right but isn't that going out of your way? if u play the game "normally" you gotta get dig first.--EternalDragonX (talk) 22:22, 21 April 2016 (UTC)

Well for Speed purposes, no; it let me skip visiting Bill so didn't have to get the S.S Ticket, which means more space for my bag & PC for TMs & other stuff worth duplicating. But if trading doesn't count, then you're right; Dig can't be skipped. Unowninator (talk) 22:30, 21 April 2016 (UTC)
oh are you playing red? I'm playing fire red and u gotta get the ss ticket first to advance past cerulean. I feel like trading is going out of your way because you can't get cut till vermilion which is where the game expects you to be able to get it.--EternalDragonX (talk) 22:38, 21 April 2016 (UTC)

Yes, I'm playing the games on the VC, actually. And just so we're clear, why exactly can't you use Cut if traded? Because you only need to beat Misty to use Cut; once you do that, just trade a Pokemon and you can skip both Dig and the S.S. Anne. I don't remember the scenario for FR/LG. Unowninator (talk) 23:07, 21 April 2016 (UTC)

i didnt say you couldn't use cut if traded, i meant that you can't get cut the hm till vermillion which is when the game expects you to get cut. The game does not expect you to trade to get all the HMs and skip stuff. so if you play the game "normally" and do what your expected to do, which i believe is what most people would do, then you have to get the tm first, then the bike.--EternalDragonX (talk) 23:23, 21 April 2016 (UTC)
Very well, if you want to undo my edit, go right ahead. Unowninator (talk) 23:30, 21 April 2016 (UTC)

Link templates

Just a reminder to link with link templates when applicable, eg. After You instead of After You, Normalize instead of Normalize, etc. I notice that you do use these most of the time, just keep it up and don't forget!

Additionally, when linking to games, please remember to use game for pre-Generation VI core series games instead of g to avoid linking to redirects, and that you don't need to use the "s" parameter with g. Thank you.--Cold (talk) 02:57, 23 April 2016 (UTC)

So the correct uh, "words" are Red and Green, and X and Y? BTW, why does it matter if it's a redirect or not? Unowninator (talk) 04:10, 23 April 2016 (UTC)
Because we want you to link to the actual articles, not something that redirects you to the article.--ForceFire 06:32, 23 April 2016 (UTC)

Golbat Gen I Learnset

So, I caught a two Golbats in Pokemon Yellow (the original Gameboy version, not the VC), one level 39 and the other level 44. The Level 39 Golbat had the moveset of Bite, Supersonic, Confuse Ray and Wing Attack (in that order), while the level 44 Golbat had the moveset of Supersonic, Confuse Ray, Wing Attack and Haze. Our list is correct, the game appears to think that Golbat learns Bite before Supersonic, we're looking into it to investigate further.--ForceFire 07:10, 24 April 2016 (UTC)

Okay, so it looks like the game skips Bite when generating a level 43+ Golbat's moveset as it is a starting move. Basically, it generates the starting moves (Leech Life, Screech, and Bite) then changes it according to its level and its most four most recent moves. So it gives it Supersonic, filling the fourth slot, skips Bite since it already "knows it" and replaces Leech Life, Screech, and Bite with Confuse Ray, Wing Attack, and Haze. Hope that's clear.--ForceFire 07:25, 24 April 2016 (UTC)
Wow that's weird. Does it happen to any other Pokemon? Thanks. Unowninator (talk) 15:08, 24 April 2016 (UTC)
It's how the game makes movesets for a wild Pokemon, so yes, it goes for every other Pokemon.--ForceFire 15:19, 24 April 2016 (UTC)

Talk page chronology

Please keep all talk page sections in chronological order as according to the date of the first message. Don't move the whole discussion to the bottom because you missed a couple of messages. The reason why I didn't make a new section was because the section was already there and felt the time difference between the last message and my new message wasn't long enough to warrant a new section.--ForceFire 03:00, 2 May 2016 (UTC)

Very well. I thought it would be okay here since the page is technically mine. Unowninator (talk) 03:08, 2 May 2016 (UTC)
Well, yes, it is. But it gets confusing to see a discussion starting on April 17th below a discussion that started on April 24th, so it's best to keep thing in chronological order--ForceFire 03:12, 2 May 2016 (UTC)
Okay, that makes sense. Thanks for telling me. Unowninator (talk) 03:13, 2 May 2016 (UTC)

Welcoming users

Hello I just noticed that you have welcomed some users that has not made a single edit yet, please don't do that as we have a custom here at Bulbapedia to only welcome new user when they make their first edit. Your friend Raltseye 07:34, 5 May 2016 (UTC)

Oops, sorry. Should I undo them? Unowninator (talk) 15:21, 5 May 2016 (UTC)
No, neither you nor me can earase a page, and besides there's no point in that. As long as you don't do that in the future, that's fine. --Raltseye 15:39, 5 May 2016 (UTC)

New pages

Please do not create new pages in the mainspace, especially ones with as little content as the one you just made. Instead, you may create a page in your userspace, at User:Unowninator/<pagename>. Thank you. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 03:23, 9 May 2016 (UTC)

If it's in my userspace, can others still edit it? Or do I have to make the whole article myself? Unowninator (talk) 03:29, 9 May 2016 (UTC)
If it's destined for the mainspace (meaning that you put the mainspace template at the top of the page), we consider it acceptable for others to edit the page. If you want to be explicit in giving others permission to edit, feel free to put at the top of the page, as well. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 03:36, 9 May 2016 (UTC)
So let's say I want to make a page about abilities with identical behavior as certain moves (like Imposter). I'd make a page titled "User:Unowninator/<Abilitys like moves>"? Unowninator (talk) 04:08, 13 May 2016 (UTC)
Sure, but you can take out the < and > in the title (unless you actually want them there)...so User:Unowninator/Abilitys like moves could work (by the way, "Abilitys" isn't a word; "Abilities" is). --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 04:38, 13 May 2016 (UTC)

XD Mew move tutor

Can you tell me why you claim that Mew can only know one of the Mt. Battle-exclusive Move Tutor moves? I know of no particular proof of this and can hardly imagine any. Tiddlywinks (talk) 16:26, 12 May 2016 (UTC)

Honestly, it's from days of trying, and I noticed I'd always get the same sets most of the time. Such as DynamicPunch with Zap Cannon, and 2 other moves (But unfortunately, I can't remember what they were though; it's been YEARS. One thing I do remember is that those 2 moves were always the same, and the set of moves were always in the same order). And basically I found that nearly every group of 4 moves would eventually repeat, and none of the sets I was offered had 2 or more of those moves. Unowninator (talk) 16:38, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
When we make definitive statements like that, though, we generally want to have confirmed it by having someone look at the raw game data. If something's based on probability, there's always the possibility that repetitive in-game trials will, by luck, not match up with what's programmed. Without looking at the data, we can't say for sure there's no possible set that has more than one of those moves. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 16:59, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
Unfortunately, I can't hack like that (and even if I could, how would I prove it?) Unowninator (talk) 17:04, 12 May 2016 (UTC)

Trivia... again

You're still focusing too much on trivia, please consider editing other things. A majority of your trivia have been removed because you stretch your trivias so far and put far too many clauses that it becomes unnotable in a heart beat. So again, slow down in editing trivia and if you are going to add trivia, don't nitpick and stretch it just to make it seem notable.--ForceFire 03:39, 13 May 2016 (UTC)

I'm still doing it too much? Ughh, I have been holding back on some things (like Sceptile being Ash's only other Pokken character), and I still do it too much, as well as editing other stuff like that Mew tutor thing. Unowninator (talk) 03:48, 13 May 2016 (UTC)
It's a combination of editing the trivia too much and stretching your trivias to make it notable when in reality it isn't.--ForceFire 04:00, 13 May 2016 (UTC)

Trivia Ban

Hello.

I wanted to leave you a message about your recent edits. In particular, your edit to Ash's Pikachu. The trivia piece you removed was specifically talking about Pikachu being used in Gym battles, not the entire Johto region.

Upon review of this and your other trivia edits, staff has decided that for the time being, you are banned from editing the trivia sections until further notice. This being done under our banning policy. Just to be clear, this is not a block from the site. We would just like you to not edit any trivia section for a while. We will let you know when you can edit them again. Until then, please feel to make constructive edit to other areas of the site. Thanks. Crystal Talian 05:15, 13 May 2016 (UTC)

....Crap. Well, maybe it's for the best, at least now I have a reason to take a break. Is there anything else I should know or avoid? Unowninator (talk) 05:21, 13 May 2016 (UTC)
Nothing else for the time being. Crystal Talian 05:24, 13 May 2016 (UTC)
Wow, it just occurred to me that it's been over a month. I just have to ask: is this permanent? Unowninator (talk) 16:52, 19 June 2016 (UTC)

Trivia

Just as a small reward, if you find an error in a trivia, you may edit the trivia section to fix that error. Saves you from having to go to a talk page and wait for a response. Do note that if you abuse this privilege, it will be taken away from you again.--ForceFire 02:59, 30 May 2016 (UTC)

Oh, is this for the marker thing? Okay, thanks. ^_^ Unowninator (talk) 03:33, 30 May 2016 (UTC)
Just so we're clear, this is only for fixing errors not adding/removing trivia.--ForceFire 03:39, 1 June 2016 (UTC)
Oh, did I mess up? I thought removing inaccurate trivia would count as fixing an error. Unowninator (talk) 04:08, 1 June 2016 (UTC)
Not really, fixing an error would be fixing spelling/grammar/templates. Removing an entire trivia isn't fixing a small error.--ForceFire 04:18, 1 June 2016 (UTC)
Okay, so leave 100% false facts alone. Got it. Unowninator (talk) 04:19, 1 June 2016 (UTC)
What about vandalism? Am I allowed to revert it if it's in trivia? Unowninator (talk) 03:40, 2 June 2016 (UTC)
Reverting vandalism is fine. Adding or removing trivia is not.--ForceFire 04:38, 2 June 2016 (UTC)

(resetting indent)Okay, it seems you still haven't got the message. You're still adding trivia, not fixing small grammatical or spelling errors. Because of this, your trivia ban has been fully reinstated. You may not edit the trivia section, if you find an error in the trivia section, go to a staff member's talk page. Thank you.--ForceFire 05:16, 4 June 2016 (UTC)

*sighs* It feels like all I do is screw up. :/ Unowninator (talk) 05:18, 4 June 2016 (UTC)

Status=complete

Nah, you've got it right! Adding that parameter isn't supposed to change the template itself at all; it adds the page to the Candidates for mainspacing category, so the staff know it's ready to be considered. If that parameter isn't included, the page ends up in the Under construction category instead. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 05:01, 7 June 2016 (UTC)

Oh, I see. Thanks for telling me. ^_^ Unowninator (talk) 05:50, 7 June 2016 (UTC)

Redirects to non-existent pages

In the future, please avoid creating redirects to non-existent pages until after the target page has been created. Otherwise, this creates a broken redirect. Also, when creating a redirect, you cannot use a link template due to how the MediaWiki parser works. --Abcboy (talk) 18:44, 11 June 2016 (UTC)

Huh, I could've sworn it was created earlier. (Edit: Okay, so the color change makes red links blue now? Great.) (Well, at least I was able to get your attention to protect that page as well :P )

BTW, if I can't use s in redirects, how would I properly make said redirect, hypothetically speaking? Unowninator (talk) 18:50, 11 June 2016 (UTC)

Just do it the old-fashioned way: #REDIRECT Core Enforcer (move). Also, even though red links look blue, they are still creating wanted pages. --Abcboy (talk) 18:59, 11 June 2016 (UTC)
Well that explains PumpkinKing's request. But anyway, the blue link is why I thought the page existed, is what I'm saying. BTW, how come Pumpkinking's link doesn't make it wanted? Unowninator (talk) 19:04, 11 June 2016 (UTC)
The red link template makes it so the link is considered an external link with a red color. External links aren't counted as links in the same way, so it doesn't add to the wanted pages. --Abcboy (talk) 19:07, 11 June 2016 (UTC)
Okay, thanks. I just wish they appear red again soon without having to click. Unowninator (talk) 19:15, 11 June 2016 (UTC)
Again, do not create redirects to non-existent pages (in this case, "Mimicyu (Pokémon)"). Wait until the target page has been created. --Abcboy (talk) 15:37, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
Crap, I forgot. Sorry. -_- Unowninator (talk) 16:03, 13 July 2016 (UTC)

Shuffle Mission Cards

Hello there. I would like to point out that for the Mission Card's difficulties, the icon appears to be a stylized Pikachu. Stars are used for the individual missions' rewards, so I meant to just use something different for the entire Cards' difficulties to avoid confusion. However, if you think that the stars are easier to understand or more Pikachu-like, I'm also okay with that. Nescientist (talk) 19:01, 26 June 2016 (UTC)

Gigantic Pokémon?

Hey there, why delete your Gigantic Pokémon page? It seemed notable enough to me at least. --Raltseye prata med mej 21:57, 27 June 2016 (UTC)

Because I lost my confidence and gave up. If you or anyone else wants to work on it, go right ahead. Unowninator (talk) 22:36, 27 June 2016 (UTC)
Okay, how sad :( hope you'll cheer up and don't give up on everything :) I'll keep working on the Gigantic Pokémon page right away then, btw where in-game does it call it Gigantic Pokémon if anywhere? Or did you come up with the name because it suits and no official name is used? --Raltseye prata med mej 22:50, 27 June 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for your support. As for the name, I forgot which screen, but when choosing a Pokemon, there's a message that reads "This is a gigantic Pokemon. Only one gigantic Pokemon can be used at a time" or something like that. Unowninator (talk) 22:55, 27 June 2016 (UTC)
You're very much welcome. Now I know that it's used in-game, I just have to connect to one to research more on the subject I'm afraid :P Thank you very much for the list and the work you did in creating the page. I don't think that I could have created it from scratch like that so a good start is a good start. --Raltseye prata med mej 23:09, 27 June 2016 (UTC)
I'm also sorry to hear that you feel that way. I understand that it can be hard seeing one's edits or suggestions shot down, and it's easy to take it personally. One thing that I find helps in a number of ways is taking a step back and trying to understand why they were shot down - not only does it distance yourself emotionally somewhat, it can add to your understanding of the project/site's goals and potentially improve the way you contribute in the future. Ultimately we're all (generally) just trying to make this resource better and more useful/usable for others, and all judgment calls are (or at least should be) based on deciding whether something is useful or appropriate for the people meant to see it, rather than personal attacks. I also hope you don't lose all hope, I appreciate your enthusiasm and willingness to point out things that may need work. :)
Also, some things that I think may be useful for the Gigantic Pokémon page include more details on how it affects gameplay and possibly a list of moves that are significantly different when used by them (possibly moves exclusive to them as well?). I plan on recording information on every move/ability in SMD eventually, because it seems like many are significantly different from their effects in the early Mystery Dungeon games, and helping with this would be pretty similar, so I'd be willing to research it. Unfortunately, SMD is on the backburner for me, so it might be a while, but I do plan to get to it eventually! VioletPumpkin (talk) 23:21, 27 June 2016 (UTC)
That would be nice, I have added a column that says image on the page where I thought we could add an image of the Pokémon in question do you think that is necessary/could you upload those? Regarding moves, maybe Unowniator could help with making a list of that and how it differs? Anything more that's needed for the pages while you're at it? --Raltseye prata med mej 23:30, 27 June 2016 (UTC)
By the way when we're speaking of it how big is Dark Matter? --Raltseye prata med mej 23:34, 27 June 2016 (UTC)
I think it's 4 or 5 squares in length. I'm not sure if it's a perfect square though. Unowninator (talk) 23:42, 27 June 2016 (UTC)
Now that is something that needs research as well. Should you or I do that? Btw I added a hidden trivia point on Dark Matter stating this. Feel free to fill that in and show it when the time has come to do so. --Raltseye prata med mej 23:52, 27 June 2016 (UTC)

I'm not allowed to edit trivia; the only reason I edited that one is because it was still in my userspace. Unowninator (talk) 23:54, 27 June 2016 (UTC)

Yeah I know, I'm sorry if I'm being annoying or anything or if I speak to much, I'm just very tired. I'll go to sleep now, sorry for talking so much, I hope you have a continuing good day or night and that your trivia ban get lifted some day. --Raltseye prata med mej 00:06, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
Thanks. Me too. Unowninator (talk) 00:41, 28 June 2016 (UTC)

Pokédex numbers

If you use , it will become its Pokédex number when the page is saved. --Abcboy (talk) 19:02, 30 June 2016 (UTC)

Testing Pikachu
Ooh, nice! Thanks so much. I guess I can work more on the Skills. ^_^ Unowninator (talk) 21:36, 30 June 2016 (UTC)

Warning templates

If you want to send a warning message to a user, please use a warning template rather than typing the whole thing out. Also, normal users can give warning messages to others, as long as it doesn't come off as rude or acting like you have a higher authority.--ForceFire 07:30, 5 July 2016 (UTC)

(Oh thank god, I thought I was in trouble again from the title.)
Thanks for the template list. Are there any more that could be useful? Unowninator (talk) 15:51, 5 July 2016 (UTC)
I made one to remind people to use their signature, but it hasn't been mainspaced yet. Feel free to use it, too. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 16:34, 5 July 2016 (UTC)
Oops; I'm really sorry; I misread what you said. ;_; I sincerely hope you're not mad. Unowninator (talk) 18:43, 5 July 2016 (UTC)
No, don't worry about it. Just make sure in the future to be careful to pay attention to how things work. Templates that can get subst'ed need to be done pretty much perfectly, or else mistakes could get permanently included when someone subst's the template before it gets fixed. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 18:45, 5 July 2016 (UTC)

Friend gift vs Friend Gift redirect

Answering to why Friend gift was deleted. Uncapitalized redirects are unnecessary since the search engine here manages that for you. I know since I have been told this in the past. That's why I tagged it for deletion, and that's why it got deleted. --Raltseye prata med mej 01:59, 8 July 2016 (UTC)

Oh, so that's why. Thanks for telling me. Unowninator (talk) 02:02, 8 July 2016 (UTC)

Formatting

Please don't use HTML formatting like <i>, use the wikicode equivalent instead. You may wish to explore some of the links in the welcome template at the top of your talk page, especially the wikicode link. Tiddlywinks (talk) 15:49, 8 July 2016 (UTC)

If you don't me asking, why does it matter so much? Unowninator (talk) 15:54, 8 July 2016 (UTC)
A fine reason is, don't mix styles. And this is a wiki. Tiddlywinks (talk) 15:59, 8 July 2016 (UTC)

Again, please use wikicode like this to create italics, not HTML formatting like <i>this</i>. Even on talk pages. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 17:24, 19 July 2016 (UTC)

For some reason I thought it only mattered on articles. *sigh* Unowninator (talk) 17:27, 19 July 2016 (UTC)

Trivia subsections

Just so you are aware the dub edits (along with errors, origin, name origin, or any other subsection) is still part of the trivia. Be careful, as your trivia ban is still in effect. Thank you.--ForceFire 07:10, 17 July 2016 (UTC)

Really? Yikes, well, thanks for not punishing me. I'll avoid those too from now on. Unowninator (talk) 17:23, 17 July 2016 (UTC)
I forgot to ask; do categories count as trivia? I asked because I find they're in different sections for different pages, such as J. Unowninator (talk) 16:23, 19 July 2016 (UTC)
What do you mean by categories?--ForceFire 04:43, 20 July 2016 (UTC)
At the bottom of most pages, there's a few categories, such as this one at the bottom of Disguise. Unowninator (talk) 05:23, 20 July 2016 (UTC)
Those are separate and not part of trivia.--ForceFire 05:30, 20 July 2016 (UTC)
Okay, so I CAN edit those, good to know. Thanks. And sorry again about the test thing. Unowninator (talk) 05:35, 20 July 2016 (UTC)
What exactly do you mean be "edit"? Do you mean editing the category pages themselves? or adding categories to pages? Because both are fine.--ForceFire 06:04, 20 July 2016 (UTC)
The latter (plus removing them). Unowninator (talk) 06:31, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

Team members limit in Rescue Team

Technically, it's 3 on all dungeons that don't have any restrictions. The fourth member slot seems to be reserved for escort clients, or a Pokémon recruited inside the dungeon. No idea why.Eridanus (talk) 11:24, 18 July 2016 (UTC)

Yeah, I know. I also agree with it being stupid and pointless. Unowninator (talk) 15:28, 18 July 2016 (UTC)

Pokémon Trap

Just wanted to make sure that you tested the 12 Pokémon cap more than once. While I haven't tested it in SMD yet, I know that in that game there's a limit to the number of Pokémon that can be on the floor at one time, and that the total number spawned would probably vary depending on how many Pokémon were already on the floor. If there's a limit in Red/Blue Rescue Team, something similar could potentially happen. VioletPumpkin (talk) 02:26, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

Unfortunately, no I didn't test it more than once. I'll delete the 12 then. Unowninator (talk) 02:28, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

Things to test

Please don't add those in the new ability pages, the games aren't even out yet and they will clearly be tested once the game comes out. Have some patience.--ForceFire 04:54, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

Very well. My apologies. I just didn't want to forget, is all. Unowninator (talk) 05:20, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

Trivia ban reminder

A reminder that your trivia ban is still in effect, you see a trivia you disagree with, bring it up on the talk page. Don't revert it. Thank you.--ForceFire 06:26, 21 October 2016 (UTC)

Ah crap; I forgot. Sorry. As long as you're here, how much longer until it's gone? It's been several months. Unowninator (talk) 15:22, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
Until the Editorial Board feel that you won't be editing the trivia section too much.--ForceFire 15:32, 21 October 2016 (UTC)

Shadinja can change name at given time?

Hello, I was wondering regarding this edit how and when exactly Shedinja's name can be changed? Because mine in Explorers in Darkness cannot be changed in the Assembly or in a dungeon as far as I know. --Raltseye prata med mej 09:17, 23 December 2016 (UTC)

Well, the one I evolved in Blue Rescue Team has that option. I guess it only works if you got it from evolving Nincada. Unowninator (talk) 16:14, 23 December 2016 (UTC)
I see, well I just evolved an Exploud in Blue Rescue Team and it did not ask for a nickname. Did you use any items to make it evolve into Shedinja? In that case it could be when using items to evolve that makes it ask you to choose a name. --Raltseye prata med mej 20:21, 23 December 2016 (UTC)
You have to select it in the menu. Unowninator (talk) 20:39, 23 December 2016 (UTC)
You're probably going to see this in my other edit, but I found proof from an old miiverse post of mine. https://miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYMHAAADAAB2V0etjbzpZQ Unowninator (talk) 20:50, 23 December 2016 (UTC)
How weird indeed this is not on any other Pokémon as far as I know. How does one evolve Nincada into Shedinja then? I mean the Poké Ball empty slot thing can't be true here, right? At least it wasn't in Explorers of Darkness as I tried there. In Blue Rescue Team my Nincada had too low level so I couldn't check there. --Raltseye prata med mej 21:46, 23 December 2016 (UTC)
I just evolved Nincada & got the two Pokemon at once. I think the only requirement is having an empty space in the Friend Area (or in DTS's case, just enough for an extra space). Unowninator (talk) 22:42, 23 December 2016 (UTC)
Yep you're right I just evolved a Nincada two times and both times I got a Shedinja in my Assembly regardless. So space is the reason.--Raltseye prata med mej 23:16, 23 December 2016 (UTC)

User talkpages

If you notice a user editing a page a lot without previewing, please add the preview button template to their page by writing . This is intended to be the standard way of explaining the preview button to new or inexperienced users. (There are a couple of other warning templates as well, but this is the one that is needed most often.) Only if that warning is already on their page should you write anything else. Thanks. Tiddlywinks (talk) 21:19, 23 December 2016 (UTC)

Okay, thanks for the link & sorry if I messed up. Unowninator (talk) 22:40, 23 December 2016 (UTC)

TMs edit

Sorry, I accidentally hit the enter key when writing my edit summary. I meant to say: "I'd say genderless Pokémon fall under the 'few exceptions' mentioned at the start of the sentence." Sorry about that. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 07:07, 12 January 2017 (UTC)

Instruct

Hey. I noticed you've been doing quite a lot of research these days, obviously in an attempt to improve Bulbapedia. That's a good thing, and I'm really glad you're doing this. However, could you please pay a little more attention to what you're actually writing, please? To me, it seems you're investing quite a lot of time and effort to acquire knowledge Bulbapedia lacks, only to make edits that improve articles by far less than you actually could. I don't know if you just hastily paste what you have, and then hope that someone else improves the wording etc., but I've seen you do really good improvements elsewhere (I mean ones where others needn't modify). There's lots of value lost. I believe you can actually get everything out of your findings. If you just try.

The reason I came here is this edit (and the fact that I couldn't really fit everything I wanted to say in an edit summary). If you read the sentence after you modified it again, you will surely notice that you changed it to say you can actually flinch individually, but you're edit summary just says you tested something else (that you can flinch the second, but not the first time). So, your edit summary doesn't match your addition here, and your addition doesn't match whatever you tested. I hadn't originally read your edit summary, so I assumed that someone tested it, and you could actually flinch individually; but, by chance, I tested it again while I was testing other things, and it turned out that wasn't true: when you flinch for your first move this turn, you will also flinch for your second move (same message). I was confused, and then I read your edit summary, which isn't evidence for what you made the page say. As I said, I think it's purely a matter of paying attention; writing detailed edit summaries is good and you do that, but actual page editions are just as important (or rather, they're even more important), and I guess you could try to pay a little more attention there as well.

But, in general: I think you're doing really well, so keep up the good work! Nescientist (talk) 23:25, 12 January 2017 (UTC)

Wow, that's quite a wall of text. The truth is, you're right: when it comes to the format & such, I usually just add the facts & hope someone else takes care of it for me. I was never good at Language Arts. I don't know how I passed it in high school.
I do love experimenting though, especially if it's one I thought of. Although there are some things I didn't think of testing, like flinching -> Instruct -> normal turn. I'm glad my work's appreciated though. Did I miss anything? Unowninator (talk) 01:41, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
You forgot that part where you'll say you'll try. :P (And sorry for the wall of text, I guess those are my interpretation of language arts.) Nescientist (talk) 18:41, 13 January 2017 (UTC)

Startup and Speedup Amounts

Can you clarify what that means? Only been playing again for about a day (after a year hiatus LOL) and don't quite get this, but am guessing new items have something to do with it. CycloneGU (talk) 16:20, 5 April 2017 (UTC)

Cyclone, many Megas now have reduced icons to Mega Evolve or can take an increased number of Mega Speedups.
Unowninator, the entire list is documented on Reddit, so you can add it yourself if you want. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 16:33, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
Thank you for answering. I wasn't aware of changes to that info. If it's not added in a little while, I may look at it myself. CycloneGU (talk) 16:37, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
On glancing at that, I see there is a lot of new data. New skills and changes in HP are the things I initially understand. I'm thinking about the best way to show the old data while reflecting the new data, and I think we might need to use tooltips to reflect the older information. For now for anything you change, please tooltip the older information. I'll make updates to the HP data and add the new skills (I may or may not cover what appears to be new skills, I'm still making sense of that one), but the "MSU Capacity Increase and Mega Icon Reduction" I'll leave to you, and perhaps also the powered up skills. If there is a desire not to use tooltips and instead have prose, I'll reply further. CycloneGU (talk) 17:03, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
I don't mean to be rude, but could you please talk about this somewhere else? It notifies me every time someone posts here. Unowninator (talk) 19:28, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
