When you fell to this land,
what stirred in your heart?

Possible new templates

{{tt}}

Before mainspacing it, consider requires a custom CSS, which is best possible with the TemplateStyles extension, which is not on Bulbapedia yet. TemplateStyles can reduce load in some cases, as the sitewide CSS is not always loaded for templates that are not used on the page.

This version of the "tt" template has several advantages over the old one:

  • Support for mobile devices. (On them, a single tap is needed to show the tooltip. To hide it, one must tap once somewhere else.)
  • Now supports wikitext for the second parameter, not just plain text. The ASCII quote mark (") is also supported.

Because of the way it works, display is set to inline-block. If it were inline, then there would be a line break-related quirk when it comes to positioning the tooltip. If you find the solution, notify me on my talk page.

Tooltip text.Really long hover text, however, practice usually avoids such texts. Supports links: a wild Chimchar used Solar Beam on Ash's Mudkip!

The CSS is located at User:C.Ezra.M/tooltip.css. To test it, copy-paste @import url(//bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/w/index.php?title=User:C.Ezra.M/tooltip.css&action=raw&ctype=text/css); to your custom CSS. If you want to test how different CSS formatting would look like, put selectors AFTER the @import rule.

I am still unsure if I have to remove the power, accuracy and PP columns.

Why doesn't Bulbapedia officially have a template like that?

Random stuff

Stat calculation

Stats (except Shedinja's HP) are calculated like this:
Stat=(2b+d2+s)×l100×n+f+p
where:

  • b is the base stat value.
  • d is the number of individual values (IVs), now ranging from 0 to 63. This is to make sure that their last bit only affects Hidden Power's type.
  • f is the following: b×m25×(1+l100).
  • l is the Pokémon's level.
  • m is the effort level multiplier. Effort level ranges from 0 to 10 and is translated to a multiplier as follows:
EL Mult.
0 0
1 6
2 12
3 18
4 25
5 35
6 45
7 56
8 70
9 84
10 100
  • n is the nature multiplier. If the nature hinders the stat, n is 0.9, if it helps the stat, n is 1.1. Otherwise, and for HP, this is always 1.
  • p is 10 for HP and 5 for other stats.
  • s is 100 for HP and 0 for other stats.

Hidden Power

Hidden Power's type is determined by the Pokémon's IV values in the following way:

  1. Provide an array of IVs for all 6 stats.
  2. For each list item with index i: imod2.
  3. Multiply each by the factors in the table below.
    Stat multipliers
    Stat Mult.
    HP 1
    Attack 2
    Defense 4
    Speed 8
    Sp. Atk 16
    Sp. Def 32
  4. Sum the numbers, multiply by 16, and divide by 63. Floor the result, and call it t.
  5. Output Hidden Power's type, depending on the value of t:
    • If t=0, make Hidden Power
      a Fighting-type move
    • If t=1, make Hidden Power
      a Flying-type move
    • If t=2, make Hidden Power
      a Poison-type move
    • If t=3, make Hidden Power
      a Ground-type move
    • If t=4, make Hidden Power
      a Rock-type move
    • If t=5, make Hidden Power
      a Bug-type move
    • If t=6, make Hidden Power
      a Ghost-type move
    • If t=7, make Hidden Power
      a Steel-type move
    • If t=8, make Hidden Power
      a Fire-type move
    • If t=9, make Hidden Power
      a Water-type move
    • If t=10, make Hidden Power
      a Grass-type move
    • If t=11, make Hidden Power
      an Electric-type move
    • If t=12, make Hidden Power
      a Psychic-type move
    • If t=13, make Hidden Power
      an Ice-type move
    • If t=14, make Hidden Power
      a Dragon-type move
    • If t=15, make Hidden Power
      a Dark-type move
    • If t=16, make Hidden Power
      a Fairy-type move

Alternatively, steps 1-4 can be replaced with the following equation: HPtype=[(amod2)+(bmod2)×2+(cmod2)×4+(dmod2)×8+(emod2)×16+(fmod2)×32]×1663

If the subexpression before 16 is replaced with a sigma notation, the equation can be written like this: HPtype=[i=16(ximod2)×2i]×1663 The x array represents the IV values: HP, Attack, Defense, Speed, Sp. Atk, and Sp. Def, in that order.
