The Secret Garden at dusk

In the film, the Secret Garden is the home of the Legendary Pokémon Latias and Latios. It is also home to other wild Pokémon, and of the extremely rare Soul Dew. It is an incredibly large place surrounded by a stone wall, and has many fountains made of brick and contains grassy fields, all sorts of flowers, and both natural and man-made ponds, trees varying in size and essentially looks like a Venetian garden. It is invisible to outsiders. Its existence is only known by few people, including Ash, Misty, Brock, Bianca, and Lorenzo.

During the film, the thieves Annie and Oakley found out about the Secret Garden, sneaked in, captured Latios and stole the Soul Dew. As they wreaked havoc through using the Soul Dew to power the Defense Mechanism of Alto Mare, the Soul Dew became corrupted and was destroyed. As a result, Alto Mare was threatened with destruction by an immense tidal wave. To save the city, Latios sacrificed himself to destroy the tsunami, in the process becoming a new Soul Dew that was later installed in the Secret Garden.

The Secret Garden briefly reappeared in Ash and Latios, where Latios and Latias flew through it during their brief visit to the city, flying past the resident Latias in her human guise.
