Pasio Academy Opening (Japanese: パシオアカデミー開校！ Pasio Academy Opens!) was an academy event in Pokémon Masters EX. It was focused on the sync pairs Rosa (Academy) & Deerling, Lacey & Granbull, and Rei (Academy) & Braviary. It also marked the debut of Ilima as an NPC.
The "Lacey Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Lacey & Granbull for the duration of the event.
During this event, players could go through an academy experience with Rosa (Academy) & Deerling, obtaining custom sync orbs to customize their sync grid by completing battles and story segments. Each time the player completed an academy experience, they received 4 Custom ★ Power-Ups for Rosa (Academy) & Deerling. Excess Custom ★ Power-Ups could be exchanged in the shop for items.
First run
The event first ran from March 31 to April 18, 2025. When players teamed up with Rosa (Academy) & Deerling during this run, Deerling was in its Spring Form. The "Rei Costume Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Rei (Academy) & Braviary for the duration of the event.
The player could battle using Lacey & Granbull or Rei (Academy) & Braviary to obtain +1.0× sync orbs; Rosa (Academy) & Deerling to obtain +0.5× sync orbs; and any unlisted Sinnoh or Paldea sync pairs to obtain +0.1× sync orbs.
During this run, the artwork on the title screen was different than usual. From March 31 to April 15, 2025, it depicted Rosa (Academy) & Deerling, Rei (Academy), Lacey, and Ilima. In addition, a special voice-over line of Rosa, Rei, or Lacey saying "Pokémon Masters EX" would play as soon as the game's logo appeared on the title screen, chosen at random each time the title screen was loaded. From April 15 to 30, 2025, Marnie (Academy) and Morty (Academy) were added to this title screen artwork, and special voice-over lines of Marnie and Morty saying "Pokémon Masters EX" were added to the pool of lines randomly chosen each time the title screen was loaded.
Second run
The event reran from September 22 to October 10, 2025. When players teamed up with Rosa (Academy) & Deerling during this run, Deerling was in its Summer Form. The "Rei Costume Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Rei (Academy) & Braviary for the duration of the event.
The player could battle using Lacey & Granbull or Rei (Academy) & Braviary to obtain +1.0× sync orbs; Rosa (Academy) & Summer Form Deerling to obtain +0.5× sync orbs; Rosa (Academy) & Spring Form Deerling, Florian & Lechonk, Brendan & Marshtomp, Morty (Academy) & Typhlosion, Marnie (Academy) & Cyclizar, Iris (Academy) & Lapras, or Gladion (Academy) & Porygon-Z to obtain +0.3× sync orbs; and any unlisted Sinnoh or Paldea sync pairs to obtain +0.1× sync orbs.
In addition, two special log-in bonuses were available during this run. The first was available from September 22 to 29, 2025, and the second was available from September 29 to October 6, 2025. Players could receive five Stamina Tickets upon logging in for the first time during each log-in bonus period, with the first set being given by Lacey and the second set being given by Rei (Academy). These tickets could be exchanged for stamina refills in the shop, allowing players to have more stamina to try the academy experience. Extra Stamina Tickets were automatically exchanged with coins once the event was finished.
Third run
The event reran again from April 18 to 29, 2026. When players teamed up with Rosa (Academy) & Deerling during this run, Deerling was in its Spring Form. The "Triple Feature Costume Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Rei (Academy) & Braviary, Iris (Academy) & Lapras, and Gladion (Academy) & Porygon-Z for the duration of the event.
The player could battle using Rei (Academy) & Braviary or Lacey & Granbull to obtain +1.0× sync orbs; Rosa (Academy) & Spring Form Deerling to obtain +0.5× sync orbs; Perrin (Academy) & Noctowl, Sonia (Academy) & Corviknight, Jasmine (Academy) & Forretress, Kabu (Academy) & Camerupt, Iris (Academy) & Lapras, Gladion (Academy) & Porygon-Z, Marnie (Academy) & Cyclizar, Morty (Academy) & Typhlosion, Arven & Skwovet, Kris (Academy) & Igglybuff, Hugh (Academy) & Pignite, Rosa (Academy) & Deerling (Summer Form), Brendan (Academy) & Marshtomp, or Florian & Lechonk to obtain +0.3× sync orbs; and any unlisted Sinnoh or Paldea sync pairs to obtain +0.1× sync orbs.
Instead of Gems, Limited-Time Stamina Tickets were awarded as first-time rewards for completing event story areas in this run. Limited-Time Stamina Tickets were automatically exchanged with coins once they expired, which coincided with the end of the event.
Plot
The player arrives at Pasio Academy to participate in a trial enrollment. Clavell greets the player and explains a little bit about the school; then, Ilima and Lacey arrive to give the player a tour of the school. Clavell introduces them, explaining that they both attended school in their home regions of Alola and Unova respectively, and they are model students at Pasio Academy as well. Lacey says she's excited to meet the player, and Ilima says he's excited to advertise the academy.
Lacey and Ilima bring the player to the courtyard, which they say is a place where students like to hang out during breaks. Rosa and Rei call out a greeting to the player. The player is curious about the uniforms they're wearing, and Rei explains that at Pasio Academy, students can choose to wear their normal clothes or the school's uniform. The uniform can be worn as-is, which Rosa is doing, or it can be customized, which is what Rei did. Ilima explains that the school rules and dress code reflect the wishes of the students who helped establish the academy. Rosa is excited to see what everyone wears to school, and Rei says the academy reminds him of his time in the Survey Corps in Hisui. Lacey recalls that Hisui is the ancient name for Sinnoh and expresses interest in learning about history from Rei. She also comments that Rei's Braviary looks different than the Braviary in Unova, leading him to confirm that his Braviary is from Hisui. He explains that Braviary were used as Ride Pokémon in Hisui, and Ilima comments that Alola has Ride Pokémon as well that are used for transportation. This gives Rei the idea of riding his Braviary to school if he's running late, but Lacey takes offense at the notion.
Afterwards, Rosa and Rei join Lacey and Ilima in showing the player around the rest of the school. Once the tour is complete, they suggest that the player should sign up for any classes that sound interesting. They also wish the player well in their studies.
The group meets back up with Clavell outside the school, where he talks about what he wants Pasio to become and starts giving the player advice on what to do as a student. However, Ilima reminds him that the player is just on a trial enrollment. After admitting he forgot that, Clavell asks the player if they would like to officially enroll. The player can either agree to enroll or take more time to think about it, but regardless of the player's response, Lacey and Ilima say that they look forward to seeing the player enroll at the academy.

- The timing of the first run of this event coincided with the beginning of the academic year in Japan.
- In the story Rei's Braviary, Rei mentions that he battled Nate in the Neo Champion Stadium, referencing the event A Pure and Touching Heart.
- Roxanne's mention of a maze utilizing Nosepass's magnetism that the player helped her design is a reference to the events of her sync pair story.
- Due to a bug, the story Rosa and Teacher Cheren could not actually appear during the first run of this event.[1]
- Despite Rosa's Deerling being in its Summer Form, the second run of this event began on the first day of autumn in the Northern Hemisphere.
