Blurb
Two Charcadet have been inseparable since they were young.
One day, the mischievous Charcadet encounters a boy and, after losing a battle to him, decides to follow the boy to grow stronger.
Meanwhile, the quiet Charcadet is left behind, living a lonely and solitary life.
They once believed they would always stay together...
Will their separate journeys eventually bring them back to one another?
This is a heartfelt and bittersweet tale about Charcadet!
Plot
Across the rooftops of Paldea's own Mesagoza, an Armarouge and a Shiny Ceruledge are staring down at each other, seemingly worn down by a battle. Then, they rush forward and jump over the gap.
As Charcadet, they were trying to reach some Sitrus Berries up on a tree, but fell short every single time. Driven by hunger, the regular-colored Charcadet spotted a traveler passing by and took the chance to startle him, snatch a sandwich from his backpack, and scurry away. Once it noticed what happened, the Shiny Charcadet became nervous, but eventually gave in to its hunger and shared the meal with its friend. After finishing the sandwich, they lied on the grass and laughed together as the regular-colored Charcadet's stomach growled as if it didn't just eat.
Some time later, the two of them were running across West Province (Area Three) when they found a Rotom Phone. The device flew into the regular-colored Charcadet's face and began to display clips of a recent battle tournament held in Mesagoza. The little Pokémon was so enthralled by the content that it failed to notice the phone's rightful owner, Yūto, approaching it. He challenged it to battle in order to take back its phone, and his Shroomish managed to defeat Charcadet with ease despite being at a type disadvantage. Yūto then asked if it wanted to learn how to battle like that and extended his hand, inviting Charcadet to his team, which it accepted. All the while this was happening, the Shiny Charcadet was struggling to pick up a Sitrus Berry, only for its friend to already be going off with Yūto when it finally reach the Berry. It traveled through the region to try and find its friend, but did not accomplish it, instead finding refuge inside an abandoned building, under a painted glass depicting the alternate paths a Charcadet could choose when evolving.
Now one of Yūto's Pokémon, Charcadet watched its Trainer battle against Gym Leader Kofu. At one point, however, it was unable to contain itself and interfered in their battle, launching an Ember at Kofu's Crabominable without any warning. In retaliation, the Woolly Crab Pokémon quickly defeated it with a single Crabhammer. Yūto, contrary to what Charcadet expected, was not mad, instead recognizing its strengths and vowing to hone them. Then, they battled left and right until Charcadet was able to defeat Yūto's Breloom. Afterwards, he took the Fire Child Pokémon to a room of his house where a set of Auspicious Armor was kept and told it about a legend involving Charcadet. Compelled by the armor, Charcadet touched it and evolved into Armarouge. After it evolved, its teammates offered it a sandwich, which sparked a memory of the time it and its Shiny friend shared one. Elsewhere, the Shiny Charcadet was ambushed by a group of four Bronzor and a Gengar, which had been eating its food. Gengar easily overwhelmed it in battle, so Charcadet steeled its resolve and touched a set of Malicious Armor, evolving into Ceruledge and harnessed its newfound power to triumph over its foes.
Some time later, another battle tournament began in Mesagoza. Ceruledge, driven by its grudge, which manifested as a dark aura around its body, rushed to the battlefield, where it awaited for Armarouge's arrival. The moment they locked eyes, the Fire Blades Pokémon immediately attacked, but its opponent blocked in time. Yūto ordered an Expanding Force followed by a Fire Spin, but Ceruledge managed to avoid all attempts with its agility or by using an unsuspecting Grimmsnarl as a shield. At that moment, Armarouge finally recognized who was its attacker and it took over the battle's reins from Yūto. They took the battle to the rooftops, where both parties exchanged blow after blow.
Then, Armarouge and Ceruledge are across the rooftops, staring down at each other. They jump over the gap and unleash their final moves, which leaves Armarouge only barely standing over Ceruledge's defeated body. The crowd cheers for the Fire Warrior Pokémon's achievement, but Yūto seems to see it differently. As the dark aura leaves Ceruledge's body, Armarouge arrives and lies by its side. For the first time since a while back, they share a laugh together as the regular-colored Pokémon's stomach growls. Yūto calls out for them, bringing their moment together to an end, and invites Ceruledge to his team, seeing how they get along, but the Shiny Pokémon refuses. They bid farewell to one another and follow their own paths.

Trivia
- This episode was originally supposed to be released on November 6th,[1] but was delayed.[2]
- The Shiny Charcadet's battle and Evolution against Gengar references the Charcadet's Adventures book[a] found in the library of Naranja AcademyS/Uva AcademyV, which Yūto also reads to his Charcadet. This short may be taken as the continuation of that story, where Charcadet ultimately selects an armor and uses its strength to defeat the Gengar that once tormented it.

Notes
- ↑ Charcadet’s Adventures
Charcadet, the Fire Child Pokémon, may have been little, but did that stop it from being a mighty hero? Not one bit! When a mean Gengar came along to play tricks and scare people, Charcadet stood tall! “Raaah! Hi-YAH!” it cried!
But soon, brave little Charcadet got bound up tight in Gengar’s looong tongue! How could the Fire Child Pokémon get out of this mess? Just as things started to grow hazy before Charcadet’s eyes, the sound of a voice came...
“Two paths lie before you, young Charcadet,” it said. “Choose between these two sets of armor and assume a new form so you can defeat Gengar!” And sure enough, two sets of armor appeared before Charcadet... (To be continued)
