A Meringue Donut made by Ansha and Hoopa

Donuts (Japanese: ドーナツ Donuts) are specialty food items made by Ansha which can be fed to Hoopa in order to awaken its powers, allowing it to open paths to hyperspace.[1] They were introduced in the Mega Dimension DLC of Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

Feeding donuts to Hoopa is required to open up distortions found in Lumiose City into hyperspace portals, allowing access to different areas of Hyperspace Lumiose. The types of Berries used to make donuts can activate different effects while in hyperspace, such as powering up the player's Pokémon. Berries found in Hyperspace, known as Hyperspace Berries, result in donuts with better effects than those made with regular Berries.

Depending on what Berries the player uses, Ansha can create special donuts that allows the player to meet Mega Evolution Pokémon, Legendary Pokémon, and even Mythical Pokémon in Hyperspace Lumiose. The player can store up to 999 donuts.

Ordering

Donuts can be ordered by talking to Ansha at Ansha's Donuts and selecting "I'd like to make a donut". Initially, donuts can be made using three Berries with Lumiosian Butter. As the player brings back other kinds of butter, additional Berries can be used up to a maximum of eight with Hyperspace Butter.

There are five special donuts that allow the player to access a particular distortion where a Legendary or Mythical Pokémon can be encountered. They can be ordered by talking to Ansha at Ansha's Donuts and selecting the appropriate dialogue option after obtaining the necessary ingredient. The player then must select a combination of Berries that meets the requirements of the recipe before Ansha will make the requested donut.

Flavor profile

A donut's flavor profile (Japanese: フレーバー flavor) depends on the flavors of the Berries used to produce it. The flavors of the resulting donut are calculated by adding together each flavor of all Berries being used (sum all sweet values, all spicy values, and so on). For an overview of the influence that various Berries will have on flavors, refer to the list of Berries by flavor.

Flavor Score

Flavor Score (Japanese: フレーバーランク Flavor Rank) is calculated by summing each of the five flavors of a donut. It is displayed both as a number and as a ranking ranging from zero to five stars. An additional star is earned for reaching 120, 240, 350, 700, and 960 total points of flavor, which applies a ×1.1, ×1.2, ×1.3, ×1.4, and ×1.5 multiplier to both the Level Boost and Donut Energy, respectively.

Level Boost

Level Boost (Japanese: プラスLv.(レベル) Plus Level) increases the levels of the Pokémon in the player's party in Hyperspace Lumiose, allowing a Pokémon to reach a maximum of Lv. 200. It is calculated by adding together the Lv. Boost for each Berry in the donut, then multiplying this sum by the Flavor Score multiplier.

Lv. Boost Berries

+2 Lum, Sitrus, Pomeg, Kelpsy, Qualot, Hondew, Grepa, Tamato, Hyper Pecha

Donut Energy

The donut's Donut Energy (Japanese: ハラモチエネルギー Satiety Energy) determines how long the player can remain in Hyperspace Lumiose. It is calculated by adding together the calories for each Berry in the donut, then multiplying this sum by the Flavor Score multiplier.

Flavor Power

Reason: Full details on how Flavor Powers are determined (like Meal Powers)

Each donut can have up to three Flavor Powers (Japanese: フレーバーパワー Flavor Power). Each Flavor Power has three levels, and the chance of obtaining a donut with a given Flavor Power depends on the flavor of the donut. Rainbow donuts have a higher chance of having slightly stronger Flavor Powers than other donuts.

For example, a 4★ Sparkly Tanga Meringue Donut would be a four-star sweet donut with Sparkling Power that included at least one Tanga or Hyper Tanga Berry. The appearance of these donuts depend only on its rank and primary flavor. The name and appearance of special donuts do not vary, however.
