Toolbox (Japanese: どうぐばこ Toolbox) is the place items are stored in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX. In the original games, it has a maximum capacity of 20 items while in the remake, it starts at 32 and may increase as their rank goes up, up to 56. Items held by team members in the original games are not considered to be in the Toolbox.

If the Toolbox is full, new items cannot be obtained in mystery dungeons or purchased from the Kecleon Shop. Job rewards will be sent to Kangaskhan Storage if the Toolbox is full. In some dungeons, a Kangaskhan Rock can be used to exchange items between the Toolbox and Storage before finishing the dungeon.
