Surskit (Japanese: アメタマ Ametama) is a Bug/Water-type Pokémon.

Pokédex entries

Pokémon Ruby
From the tips of its feet, Surskit secretes an oil that enables it to walk on water as if it were skating. This Pokémon feeds on microscoping organisms in ponds and lakes.
Pokémon Sapphire / Pokémon Pinball: Ruby/Sapphire
If Surskit senses danger, it secretes a thick, sugary syrup for the tip of its head. There are some Pokémon that love eating this syrup.
Pokémon Emerald
They gather on puddles after evening downpours, gliding across the surface of water as if sliding. It secretes honey with a sweet aroma from its head.
Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen
They usually live on ponds, but after an evening shower, they may appear on puddles in towns.

Name origin

Surskit's name comes from a combination of surf and skit. Ametama is probably a combination of 雨 ame, rain, and 玉 tama, sphere, although the latter could also be 魂 tama, spirit.

This Pokémon is based on the water strider.

In the anime

Surskit first appeared in AG049. It was owned by a boy named Max, but not the same one who's May's little brother.

In Destiny Deoxys, Catherine had a Surskit. The Pond Skater Pokémon's only major part was by helping to rotate the fan blades of the windmills in LaRousse City.

May faced against a Surskit in the Izabe Island Contest during AG103. Harley tricked May into thinking that Surkit was slow and she almost lost because of that lie.
