Reckless (Japanese: すてみ Life-Risking) is an Ability introduced in Generation IV. Eleven Pokémon have this Ability. Prior to Generation V, it was the signature ability of Hitmonlee.
Effect
In battle
Reckless increases the base power of moves which cause recoil or crash damage by 20%.
Outside of battle
Reckless has no effect outside of battle.
Mystery Dungeon
Reckless doubles the base power of any move which is affected.

Trivia
- Despite Submission, Volt Tackle, and Wood Hammer all being affected by Reckless, no Pokémon that has this ability naturally can learn any of these moves.
- Hitmonlee can be taught Metronome and Mimic in Pokémon FireRed, LeafGreen, and Emerald and occasionally summon these moves with it. However, since this Ability did not exist in those games, Hitmonlee cannot legally have both those moves and Reckless at the same time.
