Psycho Shift (Japanese: サイコシフト Psycho Shift) is a non-damaging Psychic-type move introduced in Generation IV.
Effect
Generation IV
Psycho Shift transfers any non-volatile status condition from the user to the target, curing the user in the process. It will not transfer volatile status conditions (confusion, etc.), and will fail if the target is immune to the status condition via type, Ability, Safeguard, or is affected by a status condition already.
If a badly poisoned Pokémon uses Psycho Shift, its target will be badly poisoned (if the move succeeds).
Psycho Shift will cure the user before inflicting the status condition on the opponent. Therefore, Synchronize will reflect status conditions when Psycho Shift is used (if the user of Psycho Shift is susceptible to the status condition).
Generation V
Psycho Shift will now cure the user after inflicting the status condition on the opponent. Therefore, Synchronize will fail to reflect status conditions when Psycho Shift is used.
Generation VI
Psycho Shift's accuracy changed from 90% to 100%.
