As [[Crasher Wake]]'s Pokémon summon rain over [[Lake Valor]] and {{rt|213|Sinnoh}}, {{adv|Pearl}} continues trying to catch a {{p|Buizel}}. Under Wake's guidance, Pearl finally manages to capture one in a [[Poké Ball]]. He is reminded of [[Paka and Uji|Uji]], who also had a Buizel, and realizes that having the same Pokémon as {{adv|Platinum}}'s former bodyguards may lead him to become as strong as them. Pearl chooses "Zeller" as a nickname for his new Buizel.
 
Zeller's Poké Ball suddenly springs out of Pearl's hands and rolls away from him. Crasher Wake picks it up, noting that Pearl needs to train Zeller in order for it to listen to him. Pearl is ready to start training, but Wake explains that having four Pokémon may not be enough to face [[Team Galactic]]. He tells Pearl that he will need to catch two more Pokémon before the end of the night. Already exhausted, Pearl is nervous, but Wake laughs it off and steers him to {{rt|212|Sinnoh}}.
