If you were looking for the heroes of Unova legend, see Heroes of Truth and Ideals.
The legendary heroes,[1][2][3] also known as the Legendary Warrior Pokémon,[4][5] are a duo of Legendary Pokémon consisting of Zacian and Zamazenta. The legendary heroes are also referred to as the hero duo by fans. The duo plays a major role in both the main story and post-game of Pokémon Sword and Shield. They reside in the Galar region.
In their Crowned forms, Zacian and Zamaenta are the game mascots of Pokémon Sword and Shield, respectively, on top of sharing a secondary type in Steel and the category of "Warrior Pokémon".
History
The two Legendary Pokémon are believed to have been born from a place far beyond the Slumbering Weald. They are described as being the heroes of the Galar region that worked alongside the two kings of Galar to save the region from the rampage of Eternatus during the Darkest Day, before becoming statues and disappearing into the Slumbering Weald. The two were eventually forgotten by history, their role in the Darkest Day being attributed to a pair of human heroes instead.
In the core series games
Pokémon Sword and Shield
During the events of Pokémon Sword and Shield, the truth behind the legend was discovered by Sonia, with the help of the player and their friend and rival, Hop. The truth of the legend was eventually published in a book, and became a point of contention from two brothers, Sordward and Shielbert, who claim to be descendants of the old kings.
They are encountered by the player for the first time in the Slumbering Weald. Eventually, one will be obtainable during the post-game segment after Sordward and Shielbert are thwarted atop the Energy Plant. In Pokémon Sword, the player will obtain Zacian and Hop will obtain Zamazenta, and in Pokémon Shield, the player will obtain Zamazenta and Hop will obtain Zacian.
