Kiawe's Marowak (Japanese: カキのガラガラ Kaki's Garagara) is Kiawe's third caught Pokémon.

In the anime

History

Kiawe first met Marowak in SM034 when it stole the treasured Crown of Wela from Wela Volcano Park. It beat Kiawe's Turtonator during its initial battle, but when Kiawe challenged it to a rematch the next day, it lost when Turtonator attacked it with Inferno Overdrive, which was powered up with its recently learnt Shell Smash. Marowak then chose to join Kiawe's team.

Personality and characteristics

Marowak has shown to be a brash and self-centered Pokémon, which was shown when it stole the Crown of Wela and attacked anyone who got in its way. After it stole the crown it proceeded to dance, despite the ruckus that it caused. It was also shown to be an eager battler and to have temperament issues, when it repeatedly attacked Kiawe's Turtonator, even after it was defeated and caught by Kiawe, until its head got stuck in the hole on Turtonator's chest.

Marowak is shown to be a strong Pokémon having managed to defeat Kiawe's Turtonator along with a Hiker's Magmar twice.

In the Pokémon Adventures manga

Marowak first appeared in the Sun & Moon arc. It was first used to battle Sun's Dollar at Heahea City. Dollar was initially bewildered by Marowak's ability to manipulate its flames, but Sun quickly figured out how to avoid the flames and fight back. The battle was called off after Kiawe decided to call his boss at the Thrifty Megamart and apologize for leaving work without telling anyone. Despite this, it has still shown to be a happy Pokémon by its fondness for dancing.
