Expedition event
Expedition events (Japanese: 探索イベント Exploration Event) are a type of limited-time event in Pokémon Masters EX. These events feature area info consisting of multiple stages that players can explore.
Search for the Ball Pokémon!
This event ran from March 21 to April 7, 2023. It was focused on Ball Guy. Players could work with Ball Guy to search for Voltorb that had escaped.
Plot
Sophocles and Molayne are looking for something in the forest, and Ball Guy offers to help them. They explain that they're looking for ten Voltorb that ran away after being scared by an explosion. Ball Guy says he can handle that, and Sophocles and Molayne thank him for the help.
The player and Ball Guy search through one area, finding three Voltorb uneventfully. Upon arriving in the second area, Molayne calls and tells them that Sixtorb is a Shiny Voltorb. Ball Guy thinks he's found it, but it turns out to be a Spheal. Luckily, Spheal's Trainer shows up with Sixtorb and explains that it had gotten mixed up with his other Spheal. The player and Ball Guy collect Sixtorb and the two other Voltorb in the area. In the third area, Sophocles and Molayne call and tell them that Seventorb is a friendly and energetic Pokémon, so it might be playing with children somewhere. After interrogating a Preschooler about it, they find that Seventorb played with her and her friends so much that it evolved into Electrode. Another Voltorb in the area is blocked by a small tree, so Ball Guy uses his secret technique to chop down the tree and get to the Voltorb. After they find another Voltorb in the area, the last Voltorb finally comes out of hiding, so Ball Guy and the player manage to round up the whole group.
Later, Sophocles and Molayne are standing in the forest, surrounded by all their Voltorb and Electrode. They thank Ball Guy again for his help, and Molayne says that Ball Guy's an expert on all things ball-like. Ball Guy is flattered by the compliment.
If the player and Ball Guy give up before finding all the Voltorb, they meet up with Sophocles and Molayne to report their lack of success. Molayne suggests that they take a break and come back to search later, and Ball Guy promises that they'll find all the Voltorb next time.
