Route 126
This section of the walkthrough will help you defeat the Elite Four and Champion.

Before you challenge the Elite Four...
The waters of 126 surround a massive crater, inside of which lies Sootopolis City. There's no way to reach the city from the surface, but an entrance is hidden beneath the waves in the southern area.
* Make sure you have a lot of Hyper Potions to heal your Pokémon, as well as a few Max Potions or Full Restores. You may want some Revives as well. You'll need to heal after every battle, so don't skimp on supplies. Many times hyper potions works same as max potions in terms of healing hp.
* Make sure your Pokémon are Level 56 or higher before challenging the Elite Four. As you probably know, you have to defeat all of them, as well as the Champion, in one shot— if you're defeated, you have to start over.

If you think you're ready, step through the door!

Sidney
The first Elite Four member is Sidney, who specializes in the Dark type. Bug- and Fighting-type moves will be supereffective against his Pokémon. Bug-type moves will deal four times the normal damage against his Cacturne and Shiftry, as they are both Dark/Grass-types. (Note: Heracross is an excellent Pokémon to fight Sidney with.)

{{Party
Sootopolis City rises from the crater of an inactive volcano and can only be reached by sea or sky. The final Gym in the Hoenn League is located here, but there are more urgent matters to attend to first. With Hoenn's weather becoming increasingly oppressive, you must race to the Cave of Origin and stop the super-ancient Pokémon from destroying the entire region! A girl named Kiri lives here and will give you two Berries each day, but she will not give out Berries while Groudon and Kyogre battle. If you visit Sootopolis City before completing Seafloor Cavern, you can collect all items here early (except 07). The Gym will still be closed.

When you surface inside the crater, you find Groudon and Kyogre locked in battle a short distance ahead. The unending shifts in weather have frightened many of the city's residents into their homes with their doors locked tight, while others brave the elements to witness the super-ancient Pokémon fighting. Maxie and Archie stand outside the Gym, which is also closed, begging the two Pokémon to stop their battle, but to no effect.

The Cave of Origin is said to hold a great source of ancient power. Whatever lies in its uncharted depths, it has drawn the attention of the super-ancient Pokémon. It must be stopped, and only you can save Hoenn from its destructive influence! No wild Pokémon appear in Wallace's room.

The lowest floor is lined with sapphires and rubies. Visit the south side of this mist-filled room to meet Wallace. He was once the Sootopolis Gym Leader, but something came up that caused him to leave the Gym in the care of his mentor, Juan. According to Wallace, Groudon and Kyogre are not the only super-ancient Pokémon—there is a third somewhere, named Rayquaza. It's believed that it was Rayquaza that becalmed the two combatants in the distant past, but even Wallace can't be sure where it's located now. He asks if you might know where it is, and after you mention Sky Pillar, he sets off in search of the ancient creature. To follow him, you'll need to trek through the southeast ocean beginning with 129.

Sidney sends out his Mightyena first. It knows Crunch, a strong Dark-type move, Double-Edge, a very powerful Normal move, Roar to force your Pokémon to switch, and Sand-Attack, which lowers your Pokémon's Accuracy. Mightyena's best stat is Attack, so watch out for Double-Edge! Crunch is a good move that gets STAB, but Mightyena's Special Attack isn't that great, so don't worry about it that much. Sand-Attack and Roar may get annoying. The best thing to do about Mightyena is to just knock it out as quickly as possible with strong Bug or Fighting attacks. Sidney's Cacturne and Shiftry have a 4x weakness to Bug. Cacturne knows Faint Attack and Needle Arm for attacking, and you'll really need to watch out— it has an excellent Special Attack stat. Leech Seed will drain the health of a Pokémon hit by it, harming you and healing your opponent. Cotton Spore will harshly lower your Speed. You really need to watch out for this thing— hit it with strong Bug-, Fire-, Ice-, or Flying-type attacks and don't mess around. Thankfully, it has low Speed. Sidney's other Dark/Grass-type, Shiftry, has slightly lower attacking stats, but it is faster and has more HP. Oddly, it only knows one attacking move— Extrasensory, which is of the Psychic type. Shiftry knows Double Team to boost its evasiveness, Torment to prevent your Pokémon from using the same move twice in a row, and Swagger, which will confuse your Pokémon but also sharply raise their attack. Shiftry shouldn't be too much of a problem; It has the exact same weaknesses as Cacturne, so just get it out of the way. Crawdaunt has a somewhat unusual type combination: Water/Dark. It has a massive Attack stat (which can't be lowered, thanks to Hyper Cutter), so do not mess around. It knows Strength, a Normal move, and Surf, a strong Water-type attack. (Interestingly, these are both HMs.) Crawdaunt also knows Swords Dance to sharply boost its already deadly Attack stat, and Facade. Facade will double in power from 70 to 140 if you poison, paralyze, or burn Crawdaunt, so don't use moves like Toxic, Thunder Wave, or Will-O-Wisp on it! Crawdaunt is weak to Fighting-, Bug-, Grass-, and Electric-type moves, so use those to get rid of it. Sidney's highest-leveled Pokémon is his Absol, which has even higher Attack than Crawdaunt! It knows Rock Slide, Aerial Ace (this never misses), and Slash to attack, and also has Swords Dance to boost its already incredibly high Attack. Being a pure Dark-type, Bug and Fighting moves will take it out. Basically, the strategy with Sidney is this: Keep attacking and don't mess around with status moves.

Phoebe
{| class="expandable" style="margin: auto; background: #; roundy; border: 5px solid #;"
Your next opponent, Phoebe, is a specialist of the Ghost type. Normal Pokémon are completely immune to Ghost-types moves, while Dark- and Steel-type Pokémon resist Ghost attacks. Ghost-types are weak to Ghost- and Dark-type attacks. Don't use Psychic Pokémon, as they are weak to Ghost (unless their second Type is Steel, as in the case of the Metagross family).

Phoebe sends out her Level 48 Dusclops first. It knows Curse, which will lower its health by half, and causes a Pokémon hit by it to lose 25% of its health every turn until it faints or the battle ends. Dusclops also knows Confuse Ray to Confuse your Pokémon, Protect to block your attacks, and Shadow Punch to attack. Hit Dusclops with a Dark- or Ghost-type move to get it out of your way. it has massive defensive stats, so it might be harder than you expect. Next, Phoebe has two Level 49 Bannette, both of which know the powerful Ghost attack Shadow Ball. One has Grudge, Will-O-Wisp, and Faint Attack as its other three moves, and the other knows Thunderbolt, Psychic, and Facade. These two aren't especially hard to defeat, although Will-O-Wisp causes a burn if it hits, Grudge can be annoying, and Facade can hit hard due to Bannette's high Attack stat. Don't paralyze, poison, or burn either Bannette because it's hard to tell which one you're after. Facade doubles in power if the user is affected by a major status condition. An interesting Pokémon you'll have to deal with is Sableye, which has no weakness. It has Double Team to boost its evasiveness, so knock it out as quickly as you can before things get annoying. Any move that isn't Normal, Fighting, Psychic, or Poison will deal normal damage to Sableye, which has stats that aren't the greatest. The most dangerous Pokémon on Phoebe's team is her quite dangerous Level 51 Dusclops. It's hard to knock out due to its massive defensive stats, and it knows very powerful attacks: Ice Beam, Shadow Ball, Rock Slide, and Earthquake. With this one, go all-out with your best Ghost and Dark attacks until you've knocked it out.

Once you've defeated Phoebe, heal up your team and continue on to the next room.

130 is a short, straightforward route that links Routes 129 and 131. The waterway is occasionally occupied by Mirage Island.

Beware! One of her Glalie knows Explosion which may deal great amount of damage to your pokemons. However ghost type pokemons like Haunter are not effected by explosion but they are super effected by crunch and Shadow Ball. Her Sealeo are like to start with hail , here is your chance to defeat them in first turn. But out of all her pokemons biggest challenge is her Walrein which knows Sheer Cold - an OHKO move! Sheer Cold will deal damage as same as your pokemon's current HP , making ' em instantly faint. However this attack will Fail if your pokemon's level is more than Walrein's level aka 53. If your pokemon is also at lv. 53 than it has [your pokemon's level + 30] % chance to hit.
Pacifidlog Town (optional)
Lv. 50 Sealeo knows encore which will make your pokemon use same move turn by turn for some turns.
After chasing Team Aqua out of Lilycove City, you can visit Pacifidlog Town and the three routes to the west anytime you want a rest from the action. This town is a humble community resting on the calm waters of eastern Hoenn. These floating homes surround a central Pokémon Center, where weary Trainers can catch a break from the waves.
Lv. 52 Sealeo knows attract which may not allow your pokemon to attack if gender difference exists. However it also knows Double Edge which not suits its low attack and also deals recoil damage to it. But Blizzard which has 120 base power super suits on it and deals damage as attack with base power of 180 because it receives STAB for this move. .Both Glalie are hard to beat because of their counter move usage. Level 50 Glalie is also known to use Light Screen
Walrein has very powerful sp. attack so Ice Beam can cause your pokemon super damage. Surf can also be cause of problem. However Body slam is not sp. attack but it can cause paralysis. Walrein also owns one sitrus berry All you have to do is attack without wasting any turn and finish it as early as possible. You can use fire type pokemons so when you got frozen solid you can use your fire type move which makes you free from it. But Sealeo and Walrein have ability of Thick Fat and Water as their secondary type which will make fire moves more ineffective.

Shelgon is going first. It mostly uses Protect as his first move. So don't use move which is less on PP because it will not done any damage and decrease amount of PP , you can also heal your Pokémon if you haven't done it before or can also use item or switch to another pokemon. In whole battle Shelgon will use Protect many time. Drake also switches his Shelgon. Shelgon can use Double - Edge and will not receive any recoil damage thanks to his ability Rock Head. Rock Tomb doesn't deal much damage. Dragon Claw has 80 power. Ice type move or Pokémon should not have any trouble against this. His second Pokémon - Altaria also uses Double-edge but receives recoil damage for it. Don't try any evasion moves against his Altaria because it uses never missing - Aerial Ace! You should make it faint early because this Altaria will raise his attack and speed by Dragon Dance. Now , comes real problem... Kingdra. Note that this pokemon doesn't have any weakness except Dragon type it self. Even it is dragon type it doesn't know any damage dealing move of dragon type which may be good news because if it knows any , than it would be super effective against its only weakness - dragon type. Smoke Screen will cause you a super ammount of PP loose and Damage. It also knows Dragon Dance. Surf and Body slam are also attacks that can cause problem. It is hard to inflict damage unless you have dragon type Pokémon in your party. You should deal with it as early as possible. Now comes one of his real dragon type master proof - Flygon. Flygon doesn't have any effect from ground type even it is ground type it self thanks to his ability. From now , Grass types are weak due to their Flamethrower. Earthquake is very powerful and DragonBreath is also damage dealing. Crunch is going to defeat Ghost type. So here you have to use ice types and it is better if they also have levitate ability or immunity to crunch or DragonBreath. You have to finish early because his best Pokémon named - Salamance , is waiting to cause trouble and make your way to champion hard. Salamace known moves are - Rock Slide , Flamethrower , Dragon Claw and Crunch. If you have ice types , than go .. don't waste time. Sleep Powder or hypnosis is thing which can help you in all battles if it strikes and works. It is hard if you don't use your Pokémons and items in right way. Sceptile users can use some of their items with free hand because small surprise is waiting for them in next room. Be sure that you don't waste any time or give them even a one chance.

Route 126

Route 126
Route 126 (underwater)

The waters of Route 126 surround a massive crater, inside of which lies Sootopolis City. There's no way to reach the city from the surface, but an entrance is hidden beneath the waves in the southern area.

Sootopolis City (first visit)

Sootopolis City

Sootopolis City rises from the crater of an inactive volcano and can only be reached by sea or sky. The final Gym in the Hoenn League is located here, but there are more urgent matters to attend to first. With Hoenn's weather becoming increasingly oppressive, you must race to the Cave of Origin and stop the super-ancient Pokémon from destroying the entire region! A girl named Kiri lives here and will give you two Berries each day, but she will not give out Berries while Groudon and Kyogre battle. If you visit Sootopolis City before completing Seafloor Cavern, you can collect all items here early (except HM07 (Waterfall)). The Gym will still be closed.

Note: No surfing Pokémon can appear during the battle between Groudon and Kyogre.

A Battle of Legends

When you surface inside the crater, you find Groudon and Kyogre locked in battle a short distance ahead. The unending shifts in weather have frightened many of the city's residents into their homes with their doors locked tight, while others brave the elements to witness the super-ancient Pokémon fighting. Maxie and Archie stand outside the Gym, which is also closed, begging the two Pokémon to stop their battle, but to no effect.

Catch Up with Steven

Surf westward from the Gym to a grassy shore to meet Steven. He assumes that your presence here means that you're prepared to become involved in this crisis, and has someone he would like you to meet. He leads you around to the north side of the crater and the entrance to the Cave of Origin. After a word with the guard, he asks you to search the cave for someone named Wallace.

Cave of Origin

Cave of Origin
Cave of Origin, Entrance
Cave of Origin, 1F
Cave of Origin, B1F

The Cave of Origin is said to hold a great source of ancient power. Whatever lies in its uncharted depths, it has drawn the attention of the super-ancient Pokémon. It must be stopped, and only you can save Hoenn from its destructive influence! No wild Pokémon appear in Wallace's room.

Entrance

There's not a moment to lose! Sprint down the entry hall to reach the cave's interior.

1F

Head in a clockwise direction to reach the ladder in the northeast.

B1F

To follow him, you'll need to trek through the southeast ocean beginning with Route 129.

Note: the entrance to the Cave of Origin is blocked for the rest of the game after awakening Rayquaza.

Route 129

Route 129

Route 129 lies to the south of Route 128. The several Trainers found here make it a worthwhile place to explore.

Route 130

Route 130
Route 130, with Mirage Island

Route 130 is a short, straightforward route that links Routes 129 and 131. The waterway is occasionally occupied by Mirage Island.

Mirage Island

While Route 130 usually appears as a simple stretch of ocean, it is sometimes home to a strange island that seems to appear and disappear. This rare island is inhabited only by Wynaut, which range in level from 5 to 50. A soft soil patch on the island's east side holds a single Liechi Berry tree. This is the best Berry to use in Pokéblocks, as it will produce Gold Pokéblocks.

Route 131

Route 131

Route 131 lies between Route 130 to the east and Pacifidlog Town to the west. There are no underwater trenches in this stretch of ocean, but several Trainers on the surface are looking to battle. On the route's north side is a large island that is home to the towering Sky Pillar.

Pacifidlog Town (optional)

Pacifidlog Town

After chasing Team Aqua out of Lilycove City, you can visit Pacifidlog Town and the three routes to the west anytime you want a rest from the action. This town is a humble community resting on the calm waters of eastern Hoenn. These floating homes surround a central Pokémon Center, where weary Trainers can catch a break from the waves.

An Old Legend

Visit the northeast house and talk to the girl inside. She tells you a mysterious bit of wisdom passed down from her grandfather: Six dots open three doors. Her father also remembers hearing tales of three Pokémon representing the powers of Rock, Ice, and Steel. It seems that Hoenn still has some secrets to discover!

Mirage Man

The old man in the southeast house spends his time by scanning the horizon for Mirage Island. Speak with him every day to learn if the island has appeared.

Move Tutor

Visit the Pokémon Center and speak to the young man near the entrance. He offers to teach the move Explosion to a Pokémon, one time only.

Time for a Trade

The boy in the south-central house is having trouble catching different Pokémon around town. He wishes to trade his Horsea for a Bagon. Horsea can be found on Routes 132, 133, and 134 to the west, while Bagon can only be found in Meteor Falls.

Friendship is Everything

Stop by the southwest house to meet the brother of the Pokémon Fan Club chairman. Have him evaluate your relationship with your lead Pokémon, and he'll reward your friendship with TM27 (Return). If your Pokémon is unfriendly toward you, he'll give you TM21 (Frustration) instead.
