This is where you ask me questions, tell me to do stuff, and complain about my edits. Please start every new topic in a new section at the bottom of the page, and always sign your posts. I will always reply on this page. If I have written on your talk page, please reply there. If I've promised to do something and haven't done it yet, send me a reminder. (Trainer class)
So should we move Team Rocket Grunt to Team Rocket Grunt (Trainer class) along with Team Plasma Grunt? Also should we move Magma/Aqua Grunt (Trainer class) to Team Magma/Aqua Grunt (Trainer class)? - unsigned comment from Landfish7 (talk • contribs)
- Unless there's some reason they weren't moved the first time... —darklordtrom 04:39, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
Wi-fi
Hey Trom (I'm dropping my formal tone), where do you live in NZ, exactly? If you want, I might be able to find a free wi-fi hotspot for you. Just trying to be helpful! ;} - Twisted Ivy 14:50, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
Help
Sorry I keep disturbing you :( You know my entries for the Christmas Improvement Drive? You know, the Pokémon Musical and Team Charm? Well, it still says there are missing sections in it. Would you give me some tips for filling those in with? I mean, I know the CID is over, but I'd still like to improve them. Twisted Ivy 15:47, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
- It says there are missing sections because they need to be manually removed. I'm not familiar with either the Musicals or any side games so I don't know exactly what's required. —darklordtrom 04:39, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
Nintendo 3DS
Hi, I'm not sure where to type but its regarding the "Nintendo branding the 3DS as dangerous" article. The Nintendo 3DS has been stated several times not to be part of the Nintendo DS line, it's a brand new handheld console borrowing the dual screen touch from its predecessor, which is all. Inside its a whole new machine, graphics - the lot basically. Just thought I'd let you know that :) --Craigybabyxo 08:55, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
Re:IAPL
Hello, I'm one of the guys in charge of the IAPL wiki (known as Anonymousse); and I have to say; I'm terribly sorry over the copyright deal. To be honest, I dislike using other's work and usually try to make my own. And I know I might sound like trying to put the shame on another; but I feel the need to say this. We used to have another webhost in 000webhost.com, and we had a wiki set up in there as well; This edit over here was made by a user named Ketsuban (we are still unsure about whether he used to be part of this community or not). I'm not sure if you've heard of him. Anyways, when he brought up the Party template, I started asking him about bringing that template in, but he said he asked and he got a 'yes'. So I went on and edited it. Regarding the RegionInfobox template, it's heavily based upon Bulbapedia's; but I can say it's a work entirely made by me. With that said, I must say that the Party template is only a placeholder, since I still was uneasy about using it; once I can learn about wiki markup better, I'll replace it with my own work (lots of people can prove that). But in the meantime, we'll put attribution to your work, how do you want it? Tell me and we'll change what's needed. Once again, I'm sorry over that. Mind if I ask something? How did you come across to the Project site? I look forward to your response. Masatoshi talk contribs 03:34, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
tl;dr by bigplrbear (2nd admin): Sorry about using your stuff; we were under the impression (thanks to a user named Ketsuban, whom we were under the impression that he came from Bulbapedia) that we could use the templates freely. We'll start replacing your templates with our own, but in the meantime, would it be okay if we gave credit to those who made it? If so, how would you like the credit to be displayed? Also, how'd you find out about our project, if you don't mind us asking?
If you have any further concerns and you want to reach us directly, you're more than welcome to get on the IRC at irc.rizon.net #iapl and send Anonymousse or I a PM. :) Bigplrbear 03:47, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks, guys. Just provide some documentation saying that the templates are taken from Bulbapedia and will be replaced as soon as possible. I think the Ketsuban user you refer to may be User:Missingno000; he recently filed a request to change his username here to Ketsuban. A friend and colleague of mine saw you guys on /vp/ and noticed you'd copied a few templates; as I'm the go-to copyrights guy around here, she asked me to say something to you. Again, thanks for your cooperation. —darklordtrom 06:45, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
- There's absolutely no way we can know about that. All I can say is that the guy used proper grammar and was a power-hungry guy; he was in charge of one of the Leagues; until he was removed because of his vandalic actions and some stuff in the game script. And regarding the templates, I know that the Party template will have that; as well as with the color2 one; but there's a thing I'm not sure about. The roundy template, since it uses CSS attributes that are global; should we rename the template or what? And what about the Hex colours? I'm not sure about that, since they are present in the games. And, are you okay with the style we're using? Since Bulbapedia's work is actually something inspiring to work on, and plus, I kinda hate square corners. I think I know who told you about the project :P. Anyways, thank you for being comprehensive; I'd hate being hated by Bulbagarden/pedia. I'll get to work on a Documentation, can I use Bulbapedia's logo for that, by the way? Masatoshi talk contribs 07:15, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
- We could confirm by checking IP addresses, I guess, but it isn't a big deal and shouldn't be handled in public. The roundy template, or versions thereof, is being used on many wikis. Although I think our incarnation was coded up by Bulbagarden staff, we can't really hold claim to rounded corners (despite what TTE may think). The hex colors were taken out of the game by Bulbapedia users, but I don't think we can justifiably hold claim to them either. I'll leave the rest to your judgment: if you've taken it directly from BP, then add attribution. If it's original work, it's original work. You are welcome to use Bulbapedia's logo in a link-back documentation message. —darklordtrom 08:31, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
- Possibly; gotta check Ketsuban's IP in the forum. The documentation has been made into a template (BulbaDoc), and it's put into the Party template and the Pokémon/5 (transcluded to only Pokémon); not sure if that's okay. And, as soon as I get to figure out how to use some parser functions correctly, I'll start to make the Party template for us. *sigh* I'm still sorry over this stuff. Masatoshi talk contribs 10:32, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for hearing us out. Like anonymousse said, we'll get on documenting anything used from Bulbapedia, and we'll give credit where credit's due. Anon's just a bit scared of copyright stuff (I, for one am not, since (thankfully) Nintendo has a well documented history for not caring, unless you make money and/or use their ROMs/Code), so this whole deal freaked him out a bit. As I said before, if you have any more concerns and you wish to contact us directly, feel free to PM us in the IRC or Forums. Bigplrbear 03:15, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
Blocking second account
Hey. I had a problem logging in with my first account (user:Weedefinition), which you tried to help me with back in October. Well I kept trying to get a new password since but It's obviously not gonna happen. So now would be a good time to block the Weedefinition account, since I can't use it anyway and I can't have two accounts. Thanks for all your help and apologies for all the hassle. User deletion request.
Hello. I'm leaving this comment on your talkpage because you were the last person to leave a comment on mine. If you are not responsible for what I am about to talk about, please ignore this and send my note to the correct person.
After two hilarious discussions about me doing to many edits in my namespace (BTW, when I want to talk with a robot, I visit Cleverbot), I realized that I am unable to edit my own pages. I truly appreciate your imagination and creativity in modifying terms like "democracy" and "my own possession". Hey, at last we're on wiki, where anyone can change anything! (insert laugh) Back to the point. You see, after that I found out that I cannot simply remove my account and I have to beg someone to do it. So here I am. Please, please, destroy my user account and all pages that has violated this precious, given by Arceus himslef "3 times per day" law. Destroy all my edits that were - what I thought - a mere and humble addition to the Bulbapedia, but - in fact - were "horrible, horrible crimes". I understand what have I done and decided to leave this place and never contribute to any online community ever (just in case they have developed as stupid laws as the ones here). I hope my dose of irony wasn't too big for your servers. And if it was - I will laugh even more. Yes. Sincerely, Piotr mil 15:37, 21 January 2011 (UTC)
- Don't be so pretentious. I'm not deleting your pages. That's not how I roll.
- Bulbapedia has rules for a reason. We discourage over-editing of userspace pages because we are, first and foremost, an encyclopedia. Your edits looked like they might have eventually benefited the wiki; however, you still have to stick to the rules. If you're making helpful userspace edits, we get more lenient with the limits, but you aren't immune. If you make a few mainspace edits for every userspace edit, you'll be sweet. If you choose to disregard this message and leave the wiki, that's fine too. Just don't be an ass about everything. I learned the hard way when I joined Bulbapedia - if you act like a dick, you'll get treated like one. —darklordtrom 10:51, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
R/S/E Remakes

- Feel free to make one in your userspace by editing an existing template. The old GSDS template might be around - you could modify that if you can find it. —darklordtrom 10:51, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

Requesting a username change
Basically I was really absent-mindedly creating my account the other day after a year or so of lurking, and I accidentally mixed up my intended entries for the Username and Real name fields. I'm rambling, I suppose, so long story short, I was wondering if I could get my username changed to Zond. I would really appreciate it.GarthHalvorsen 00:55, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
- Hi Garth/Zond. Unfortunately, the tool we use to rename users is currently broken - we're looking into a fix. As you have only made a few edits thus far, you may wish to create a new account with the new username, provided it isn't taken. I will then close off (block) your misnamed account. —darklordtrom 04:54, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

Two Things
Hey Trom! First question I have for you is do we have a page detailing out the commonalities in each Region, such as that every game has the Fire, Grass, and Water Starters, a common bird Pokemon, and such? I think it would just be an interesting thing to compare up as we are getting more and more commonalities. While I'm at it I was wondering if you would a look at this when you have a moment, as it looks like Rex is busy. Thanks!! —MasterKenobi 23:00, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
- No, we currently do not have a page like that. I will reply about the mall tour on Rex's page, so as to keep the thread in one place. —darklordtrom 06:25, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
- There is a TLDR section about your commonalities article on Rex's talk page. BTW. —darklordtrom 06:58, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads up on that. I saw, and he does indeed disapprove. I think that I am going to try Userspacing it first and if we find any use for it we can Mainspace it (which I know is unlikely but we will have the resource if needed). I will also PM you on the forums in the next day or two about the details of that Tour. Thanks again Trom! —MasterKenobi 08:40, 14 February 2011 (UTC)

Even though Ankle Sweep's English Name was revealed as Low Sweep, the Japanese name was posted as Low Kick. Could you look into this confusing mystery? -Tyler53841 22:48, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
- From what I recall, the Japanese name of this move can be translated as both Low Kick and Ankle Sweep. Bulbapedia chose the second translation as we already have one English move with the name Low Kick. —darklordtrom 22:51, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks, I only asked because it looked confusing when I saw that page and wanted to help deal with the mystery so it would be less confusing, but it might make a good trivia piece just to make it more understandable. -Tyler53841 22:53, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

- Hi. Please send a PM through the forums to both me and RexRacer outlining what you want to write about - not just the general subject but also ideas for specific columns - and your planned update schedule. We would ideally want a sample of your writing (three or four columns) to see if you meet Bulbanews quality standards, but as you haven't written anything yet we'll just take the outline for now. Thanks. —darklordtrom 23:23, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
Query
As you seem to be in the know, just wondering what the rules were about deleting talk pages of articles? I guess that they would be to delete them as much as possible to save space? At least that is what I assume from what I am seeing? felinoel 08:37, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
- Depends what's on them. Redirects, yes; stupid questions, yes. The file talk page you edited earlier? That should go as Bulbapedia administrators are instructed not to let anything exist in the file talk namespace. —darklordtrom 08:45, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
- How about information requested to be changed on a locked page? Not a file page. felinoel 08:47, 21 April 2011 (UTC)

I'm quite new and I'm not sure if I may ask it here but.. After reading the username policy, do you think my name is Misleading? some people refer the black glasses as Shades. If so, how can I change my name? Shadess 10:11, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
- Hi Shadess; welcome to Bulbapedia. You're most welcome to ask any questions you have here :) Rest assured, your username is just fine. That policy is in place to prevent, say, someone signing up with the username "User:The Dark Lord Trombonator" (note the difference in capitalisation) or "User:Satoshi Tajiri" (the name of a real-life person). You have nothing to worry about. —darklordtrom 10:14, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
Saving on server space...
Hello, dark lord trombonator. I'm a pretty new user here, and as always I've been concerned about the stress on Bulbapedia's server space. May I know if clearing userspace pages (such as my own talk page) periodically will relieve server stress, and if it will help a lot? Thanks! Cheers, Haxorus 13:21, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
- You're free to clear your userpage, but user talk pages fall under the same rules as any other talk page: Deleting comments is prohibited except under extenuating circumstances (such as vandalism). So no clearing your talk page. --AndyPKMN (talk) 14:53, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
- Wait, so deleting comments on talk pages that don't break the rules is against the rules? felinoel 15:50, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
- You got it. We like to keep those there as a record of what discussions have contributed to the current state of the article/user. If talk pages get too long, we archive them in a subpage. --AndyPKMN (talk) 16:22, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
- HOWEVER, spam and useless comments ARE allowed to be removed without notice. —♥ Jellotalk 16:40, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

As for my new signature it is just a friendly warning because that week long ban really was an annoyance as my email inbox filled up with edit updates and was quite bothersome. So yea, please stop bothering me. felinoel 19:58, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
- I was only clarifying a misunderstanding you seem to not be able to let go, because it was clear what you were trying to imply. I requested in my edit summary that you not reply to this comment either, but I knew you weren't going to listen. But yeah, if you weren't so biased in your hatred against staff, you wouldn't have left that comment after mines, and of course your signature wouldn't say what it says right now (which is anything BUT friendly). Like it or not, it is a personal attack against any one that is staff. I will stop "bothering" you though, and let Trom take care of this. Again, have a nice day. —♥ Jellotalk 20:18, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
- First of all, I asked you to please stop, this has nothing to do with you and only you are making it have something to do with you, you are cluttering up someone's talk page with your claims that my inquiry had anything to do with you. My apologies again to your ego. Second of all, if paraphrasing a member of staff is a "personal attack" then I apologize, but it is true, and if you have a problem with my signature please take it up on my page and not the page of someone else to clutter up their page. felinoel 20:31, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

All of you, get a life. If you can't handle the talkspace, go fix up a stub. Jel and fel, try and avoid each other for a bit. And fel, get rid of that signature. I'm all for self-expression, but it's rude and counterproductive. Signatures ought not to be defamatory to other members, staff included. —darklordtrom 01:13, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
- I'm sorry but I did nothing, I was only asking a question and Jel assumed it was about her? I begged her repeatedly to please stop posting and I somehow get yelled at?
- My signature is entirely truthful, saying it is defamatory implies it is untrue? felinoel 03:09, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
- For real, follow Trom's advice and don't interact with Jello. Including the above comment. Sometimes, you just have to let things go whether you like it or not. And in this case Trom is giving you a pretty long leash by giving you a warning. Arguing over the truthfulness (or not-truthfulness) of your sig is rehashing the issue Trom told you (and Jel) to drop. So, drop it. -- evkl (need to talk?) 03:36, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
- Jel attacked me, then later she commented on my signature so my signature has nothing to do with that. As for whether or not someone stated what my signature says was stated is true, and then as for people getting banned for just trying to help out that is also true based on previous happenings. So I don't see the problem here? Especially since the only person who did not drop the issue was Jel even though I begged her to drop it multiple times and I somehow am the only one getting yelled at? Admins say Fhey don't do thEir job but don't try to heLp or you will get banned. 03:59, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
- Wait I just realized... I have admin plural, is that the issue? I only did that to keep the signature within the rules of character limit, that is also why I put fel in there in green, kinda confusing but it follows the rules I guess. If the plural 'admin' is the issue I am sure I can find a way to reword it? Admins say Fhey don't do thEir job but don't try to heLp or you will get banned. 04:02, 10 May 2011 (UTC)

Userspace issue
Greetings, in 2009 I created my userspace and I was able to edit it normally, but in 2010 I decided to remove info from it but I was unable to, I see "view code" instead of "edit this page"... I did read the help desk several times and checked settings from 2010 until now, no success, I don't see anything about protection or block.. As I can't find the reason, I'm finally contacting a staff member as the help desk says recommends. Please tell me if I'm mistaken. I need to edit my userspace..if it's not possible anymore, you can remove the page then. Waiting for a quick reply. --Caique 00:39, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
- The time you lost the ability to edit your userspace was the time that settings were changed to remind users that userspace editing is a privelidge, not a right. As a result, you now need to make a number of edits to the mainspace (i.e. actual articles) before you can edit your userpage again. Even once you can edit it again, remember that this list should always be significantly longer than this list. If it becomes the other way around, or you make too many userspace edits in a short time, you may find you lose the ability again. Werdnae (talk) 03:56, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
- Is that so, arigathanks! I didn't suspect that at all. Now I gotta find articles I can give a hand with... --Caique 03:07, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

PokéFanon wiki Creative Commons
Hi, this is Universalguardian1003, 1/3 of the bureaucrat team there and head of templates. What are your concerns? I'm sorry for sounding so commanding, I'm just a little more official when my wiki is involved. - I'm a Girl. People Don't get that.... Speak To The Master...DialgaMaster! 22:04, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
- I outlined my concerns on the other user's talk page. Bulbapedia templates cannot be used on commercial websites like Wikia due to the different licenses. You've got a whole category full of stuff you nabbed from here (and more stuff that isn't in the category) and it all needs to be changed so it's your original content, not ours. —darklordtrom 08:25, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
Hm. Me and ATTH will try. He made most of the templates that look like yours, but I thought he disclaimed and changed them. I'll delete any templates not made by him that don't have a disclaim, since those are all unofficial. - I'm a Girl. People Don't get that.... Userspace / Talk Page
I am aware that you currently can only edit userspaces once a day, which I have already done today for the first time. I notice, though, that your talk page is also customized. Do edits to both stack or are they counted separate from each other's edits? EvilKirikizan 21:10, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
- User talk personalization edits are loosely included in the userspace limit. It's not written down as a formal "no" but the general aim of the policy is to discourage non-productive edits so it would be best if you took user talk personalization as an extension of the usual userspace. —darklordtrom 09:35, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
- Got it. And, also, i am guessing that extensive customization (like usertags) aren't appreciated there? Thanks from EvilKirikizan 01:25, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
Userpage question
Yes, i know a bunch of my questions are on userpages and yes i know this is my second time in arow asking you something. Anyway, i had a funny idea for a section for my userpage - where i take current events from Bulbanews and revamp them in a sort of comedic parody. Since Bulbanews is officialy part of this site, i decided that I'd ask an admin for permission. Please reply. EvilKirikizan 21:20, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
- That's fine. Just keep withing the userspace limit of one edit per day. You may also find this better suited to the blog system on the Bulbagarden forums. —darklordtrom 21:32, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

Sounds
You're one of the more approachable admins, for me at least, so could you answer this for me: Would it be possible for the wiki to adapt adding sound files for music samples and such. For example, in the promotions article, we could provide the sample provided by Global Link for that recent Japanese Musical show. Since YouTube videos have now been allowed, unlike before (and sound files were previously allowed), I thought this might be possible too :D tc²₆tc26 09:52, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
- Sound files have been tricky in the past. I don't ever remember having working sound files on wiki pages that weren't links to external sites; we tried to get 493 cries once and the server exploded. We're trying something else to get the cries back on the species pages, so I'll bring this up with the others and see if there's a consensus for incorporating non-cry sounds and how we could do it. —darklordtrom 22:05, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
- I've seen a few fansites with cries, like Marriland and UPC, that hold all 649 of 'em. If anyone at all is in any kind of affilation with one, we could see how they did it.
- Yes, fansite, i know. This is just a possibility, and possibilities are possible to be proven wrong by other possible possibilities. So, it's possible. EvilKirikizan 23:38, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- We are looking to work with our German colleagues at Pokéwiki to see how they did it. It's possible that the person who set it up last time just missed something. But of course, we'll let you know how this goes when it goes anywhere :D —darklordtrom 04:14, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
- Makes sense. I'd most likely have suggested that, if I ever bothered to try to read German. :) I do believe that it should work; Bulbapedia is just as reliable in Germany. Assuming you can speak their language. EvilKirikizan 23:37, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Darknesslover5000/Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire remake speculation
My "Darknesslover5000/Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire remake speculation", is it blocked?--Darknesslover5000 14:54, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
- It's been protected because you broke the one edit per day userspace limit on it. You've also edited that page seven times since your last mainspace edit which was back in February. The protection will expire in one month, but you need to make some mainspace edits before you edit it again. Further information about the userspace restrictions can be found in the Userspace policy. Again with the userspaces
I was going to ask Werdnae at first, but i decided that it would be funny if i bothered you about userspaces again. Some people have pages that go along with the userpage, like Deth's ugly sprite page (the sprites are ugly, not the page). So, some questions.
- Do edits to these stack up with your main userspace edits?
- What is the maximum number of these one is allowed?
- May i make one?
- Should i ask a different person about userspaces next time?
Thanks!
P.S. Yes, this is the last userspace related question i will ask you until the 19th of September at my earliest. EvilKirikizan 01:17, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
- Feel free to ask me what you like; if I don't reply straight away I'm sure someone equally knowledgeable will.
- You may make one userspace edit to the entirety of your userspace (including subpages) per day, provided you make a balanced amount of mainspace edits too.
- There is no limit to how many userspace subpages you have, but keep it practical.
- You may make whatever you want provided you keep within the limits.
- Nah. But some of your questions may be able to be answered by reading the userspace policy. Check that every time before you ask a question; it might save you some time.
- Always glad to help, —darklordtrom 01:36, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

If I'm getting quotes from a game back when the capitalization was crazy (POKéMON, etc.), should I maintain that capitalization on the page or change it to standard capitalization? Right now I have it as done in the game, as much as it pains me. Ikarishipper900 02:14, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
- Use standard capitalization. Apologies for the belated reply. —darklordtrom 06:09, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

Can you help me please?
I need to know how to delete my bulbapedia account. I signed up yesterday just to edit an article, but I never did. I posted something on a Pokémon's talk page questioning a possible mistake for its physiology description. However, I feel like it was very stupid of me to do this, because I asked a common sense sort of question. I kinda feel ashamed for doing this, so I want to delete my account in order to protect myself from doing something stupid like this again.
I'm very sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place, but I've looked everywhere on the site, and I can't seem to find this issue.
Please respond, thanks! --Emdude 23:20, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
- Hi Emdude. Due to the nature of a wiki, we cannot delete accounts as this causes gaps in the page histories, etc. If you don't wish to use the account, that's fine. You're free to leave at any time. But please don't embarrassed about your rocky start; I myself got off on the wrong foot with some of the administrators and, well, you can see how that ended up. To summarize, we are unable to delete your account, you can go away and not use it if you wish, or you can ignore your error and have some fun here. Cheers, —darklordtrom 08:15, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
User Talk Page
I just made a set of rules for my user talk page recently and was wondering if I broke any rules unknowingly. Some rules from it are: No Swearing, No Disrespect Towards Anyone (a.k.a. Follow the Golden Rule), Don't Come to me With Questions, Don't Change the Rules, etc. I was wondering if I could do this to keep my talk page the way I want it to be: a clean, safe place where users could talk to me and other users with any issues about my edits. But did I violate the Code of Conduct or Manual of Style in any way? I'm just wondering because I like most of the rules I set up and I hope I can keep them on there. If you don't think any belong there or need some tweaking, just tell me first and I'll change them almost immediately.
For a complete list of my rules, go to my Talk Page. (You don't have to make any changes there if you don't want to. I'm not forcing you to do it.) Just click the "9000" in my signature to get there easily. Have a nice day!

thanks anyway. How do you do a signature with a pic in it?(Raltslover 09:32, 16 September 2011 (UTC))- Maybe you got the spelling wrong? BP definitely does work. Good job using cat. You can't have images in your signature; it's in the signature policy. Also - upload your image to an image sharing site, such as photobucket. I can upload it from the url if it's better than the old one. —darklordtrom 09:37, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
would flickr be okay? search up "sinnohroute205" (one word) on galleries and how do I design a signature?(Raltslover 10:15, 16 September 2011 (UTC))
- I can't find it. Can you post the url here? To see how to design a signature, have another look at the signature policy. That'll give you some basics. The rest you might be able to figure out by looking at html helpsites or other people's signatures. —darklordtrom 21:20, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
List of Pokémon by effort value yield
Hello, I'm new to the Bulbapedia wiki. I just got an account like a week ago and I'm still learning all the rules and stuff. But before that I have went on Bulbapedia for about a year, researching EVERYTHING ABOUT POKEMON that I could possibly figure out. All I can say is that Bulbapedia is SO AWESOME!! I learned so much here than I have learned anywhere else. I decided to be a member because I think that I finally know a lot about Pokemon than all of my friends. Anyway, I have a Excadrill whose EV's for Attack I want to be high. On this page, http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_Pok%C3%A9mon_by_effort_value_yield, I saw that you only get 2 EV yield points by defeating Excadrill, and 3 for defeating Gigalith, even though they both have 135 for their base attack stat. Can you please tell me why? Also, it says defeating Tornadus and Thundurus gets you 3 EV's in ATTACK, even though they have 115 attack and 125 in Sp. Attack. Aren't you supposed to get 3 EV's in Sp. Atk instead? And why does defeating Accelgor, who has 145 for Speed!, only give you 2 speed EV'S?? Chandelure has 145 for Sp. Atk and it gives away 3 Sp. Atk ev's on defeat! Why does Accelgor not give 3 speed ev's upon defeat then?? I saw a lot of other mistakes like these, and I knew then that they couldn't be typos. SO WHY??
Please answer my questions, I am reaaallllly confused!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THANKS A LOT.

- For the most part, pokémon give EV yield based on evolution. A Litwick will give 1, a Lampent 2, and Chendelure 3. There are some exceptions, such as the legendaries and maybe a handle of other "regular" pokémon, but that's the basis. So Accelgor will ONLY give two, because it's the second in its line. EV Training
Hi, its me again. I just have a simple question: I understand now that ev's are mostly based on evolution, but can you answer why Metagross gives 3 EV's for defense upon defeat instead of attack? I mean, you can see that Metagross has higher ATTACK, not higher DEFENSE. Thanks again.

- There's no a real reason. Some Pokémon just give EVs than are not from their highest stat.--電禅Den Zen 17:18, 22 October 2011 (UTC)
- Type helps as a factor, looking at the statistics. Most primary Steel types will yield Def EVs to some amount (Jirachi and Dialga, not so much). Luna Tiger * the Arc Toraph 17:58, 22 October 2011 (UTC)
EV Training
Also, I found that Samurott gives 3 Sp. Atk ev's on defeat, but its sp.atk stat is 100 and its ATTACK Stat is 108!! Can you please tell me why?

<subject here>
While I could always to to the Main Page talk page, I thought it would be better to go to you directly. Hope you don't mind :) I just noticed that with the new format, the Bulbanews looks a little too cramp. Is it possible to either shorten the months (October -> Oct., September -> Sept.) or reduce a bit the size of the center (one with 3DS) or the "Start here" portion? Also, shouldn't it be November 1, not 1 November since the site uses American English? -tc²₆tc26- 06:52, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
- I can't shorten the months, but I can make the box a little wider. I'll also change the date. Thanks for spotting those. Check the page after midnight UTC tomorrow; a few more things might have changed :) —darklordtrom 07:02, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
Today in history
Well, the title says most of it but: I really want to help with the work-in-progress Today in History page but I don't know where to start. Please can you point me in the direction of stuff that needs working on in there and I'll help. Thanks Epsilonexus 09:12, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
- You could add the TCG expansions release dates if you want. Basically, pick something from the list at the top you're interested in and find the dates. For something a bit more research involved, you could find official sources to verify video game release dates (because some of them are disputed) or get anime premiere dates (Japanese and English) or find birthdays for voice actors... there are lots of things to do, so find something that interests you and work on that. —darklordtrom 09:19, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks. Personal interests lies in games and I'm going to look at release dates. Any other aspects of the games need covering? If not I'll start on the anime. Out of interest, when I find the info, do I directly place it on User:The dark lord trombonator/TodayInHistory or somewhere else. Right, to those dates... EDIT: There is no edit this page button, and when I click View source it says I can't edit it. Could this be because I am a new user (less than 48 hours old) and haven't made many mainspace edits so am not allowed to edit the user space. Thanks Epsilonexus 10:53, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
- That'll be it. There's a time requirement and an edit requirement. So hang around for a while and edit the mainspace until your preferences say you're autoconfirmed. Sorry for the inconvenience :/ —darklordtrom 11:16, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
- That's annoying. Do you know how long I have to have existed for and how many main space edits I have to make before I can help out. Does editing Appendixes count as main space edits because I want to brush up the B/W walkthroughs? Epsilonexus 12:17, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, but I can't tell you. Appendices can count, but the mainspace is preferred. Look into those dates - see if you can find old press releases or news articles or something - and you can add references to the game articles. —darklordtrom 12:28, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
- I'm compiling a list of dates so when I can hit the user space I can put a lot of work on at once. I'll go with the main space for edits then. I have worked as a WikiGnome on other places and I'll gnome this one. Epsilonexus 12:39, 5 November 2011 (UTC)

Linking to Pokémon body styles
Is there any reason why people haven't linked to body styles when mentioned in the Physiology or is it just becuase no one has thought of it? (before I go and do all 649 Pokémon). An example of what I have done is Blastoise. Epsilonexus 12:29, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
- I guess no one thought of it. While I think it's not a bad idea, the body style is in the infobox. It doesn't link to the sections of the page, but we could easily automate that. That would save you the time of going through 648 more Pokémon, although linking in-text may be more obvious for readers.
- I know half the staff (and non-staff, too) are watching this page, so feel free to share ideas, guys :D —darklordtrom 22:24, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
- The body styles are set in the infobox by number, but it wouldn't be too much work to make each of the numbers link to the corresponding sections. Especially since the sections seem to be in the same order as the numbers. We'd just have to assign a link to each number. Werdnae (talk) 23:00, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
- Fine, yeah. I'm just throwing ideas at you. If you could link in the infobox by editing the template, then that works. If you feel it would be more obvious and handy enough to put it in Physiology then I'll go through and do them (I don't mind, I am addicted to gnoming). Whatever works for you. Just a thought...
Since you've been doing this "hiring" thing, is it possible for you in the future to gather/"hire" people who are able to understand Korean and work on the Korean aspect of the franchise, especially the games? We have people working on the NA/EU/JP side of things, but when it comes to the Korean part, it has been hard for quite a while now. It's become more obvious with the release of Global Link. (Re-)see for yourself. Sure, there are other countries to work on, but the franchise highlighted Korea, as seen on its own Global Link. :D -tc²₆tc26- 01:19, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
