The Slowpoke Tail (Japanese: おいしいシッポ Delicious Tail), formatted SlowpokeTail prior to Generation VI, is a valuable item exclusive to the Generation II games. They are the severed tails of Slowpoke.

Non-item appearances

In Pokémon Gold, Silver, Crystal, HeartGold, and SoulSilver, a man near the Pokémon Center on Route 32 offers to sell the player a Slowpoke Tail for $1,000,000; however, it cannot be purchased, as this is more money than the player can carry in these games. Later, the player discovers Team Rocket harvesting Slowpoke Tails from Slowpoke in the Slowpoke Well in Azalea Town.

In Pokémon X and Y, Slowpoke Tail is one of the dishes served by Restaurant Le Yeah in Lumiose City.

In the Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon Special Demo Version, a Police Officer at the Hau'oli City Marina stakes out what he believes is a Slowpoke Tail deal; instead, the meeting is simply two people fawning over each other's Slowpoke.

Slowpoke's Pokémon Sun Pokédex entry states that its tail often breaks off without harming the Slowpoke, and that it grows back later. Its Pokémon Moon Pokédex entry states that dried Slowpoke tails are often used in Alolan home-cooked stews.

In Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon, Peppered Slowpoke Tail on Salad, Slowpoke Tail Quiche, and Slowpoke Tail Sandwiches are listed on a shelf in the Thrifty Megamart, although the player cannot purchase any of them.

In Ursaring Major, Team Rocket had cut off the tails of a herd of Slowpoke by the Slowpoke Well near Azalea Town, planning to sell them for profit. However, they were stopped by Silver and his Ursaring before they could do so.

In the Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon arc, a pair of Team Skull Grunts sold grilled Slowpoke Tails at the Iki Town festival, with one of said Tails appearing in The Party Crasher and Guzma the Destroyer.

Trivia

• Despite being added to the games' data in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, the item is only obtainable in Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal.
• The first time that humans eating Pokémon is mentioned explicitly in the games is when a Team Rocket Grunt mentions the Slowpoke Tail's value as a delicacy.
