Reflect Type (Japanese: ミラータイプ Mirror Type) is a non-damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation V.

Effect

Reflect Type changes the user's type to match the type or types of the target. Reflect Type works through Illusion, but fails when used by a Pokemon with Multitype.

Learnset

By leveling up

# Pokémon Type Level
I II III IV V VI
120 Staryu Staryu Water Water 46 '
151 Mew Mew Psychic Psychic -- '
380 Latias Latias Dragon Psychic 70 '
Bold indicates a Pokémon gains STAB from this move.
Italics indicates a Pokémon whose evolution or alternate form receives STAB from this move.
A dash (−) indicates a Pokémon cannot learn the move by the designated method.
An empty cell indicates a Pokémon that is unavailable in that game/generation.

Trivia

  • Staryu is the only non-legendary Pokémon and the only non-Psychic-type to learn Reflect Type, though it does evolve into a Psychic-type. This marks the second time Staryu has had some degree of exclusivity over a type-changing move, after Camouflage, which was its signature move in Generation III.
  • Reflect Type's effect is that of Conversion in Generation I. From Generation II onward, however, Conversion has instead changed the user's type to that of one of its moves (aside from Curse, when the move was Template:Type2).
