White Smoke (Japanese: しろいけむり White Smoke) is an ability introduced in Generation III. Only two Pokémon Pokémon have this ability, both of which are Template:Type2.
Effect
In battle
White Smoke prevents stat reduction. Therefore the Pokémon's stats cannot be reduced from moves such as Scary Face or abilities such as Intimidate. However, White Smoke does not prevent self-inflicted stat reduction from moves like Overheat.
Outside of battle
From Pokémon Emerald onwards, if the Pokémon with White Smoke is leading the party, then White Smoke decreases the wild Pokémon encounter rate by 50%.
