[[Category:{{{type1}}}-type Pokémon|{{{ndex}}}]] Carnivine (Japanese: マスキッパ Muskippa) is a Template:Type2 Pokémon.
It is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon.

Its appearance is based off of a Venus Flytrap. Instead of having legs like other Grass Pokémon (like Bellsprout), it has vines attached to the end of its stem, giving them the appearance of tentacles. The leaves act as arms, and the inside of its mouth secretes a sweet-smelling saliva, which it uses to attract prey.
Gender differences
None.

Trivia
- Carnivine is the only Template:Type2 Pokémon to have Levitate as its ability.
- Carnivine and Tropius are the only non-legendary Template:Type2 Pokémon that do not have any evolutionary relatives.
- They also share their immunity to Template:Type2 moves, Tropius by being part Template:Type2 and Carnivine because of its ability.
- In Pokémon Battle Revolution, Toxic is depicted as two purple orbs spinning around each other towards the target. However, when Carnivine uses Toxic the orbs travel erratically.
Origin
Carnivine is based on a venus flytrap.
Name Origin
Carnivine's name is a combination of the word carnivore and vine. Muskippa is derived from Dionaea muscipula, the scientific name for the venus flytrap.
In other languages
- German: Venuflibis - From Venusfliegenfalle (Venus fly trap) and Biss (bite).
- French: Vortente - From carnivore (carnivorous) and possibly tente (tent).
- Korean: 무스틈니 Musteumni
- Chinese: 豬籠蔓 Zhu Long Man
