The Explorers (Japanese: エクスプローラーズ Explorers) are a mysterious organization who are after Liko's pendant and the main antagonists in Pokémon Horizons: The Series. Their real goals and motivations are currently unknown.
History
The Explorers group was introduced in HZ001. In this episode, Amethio introduced himself as a representative of Liko's grandmother. His real purpose was to keep the pendant she had, Liko eventually tries to run away from the group but is intercepted by Conia and Zir. During the battle that takes place, Amethio has a battle against Friede, and has the first confrontation with the Rising Volt Tacklers group. The confrontation ends when an Amethio's Ceruledge move activates Liko's pendant powers for the first time.
In HZ002, the Explorers entered into a new confrontation with the members of the Rising Volt Tacklers, after invading their enemy's ship. The battle ended when Amethio managed to take Liko's Sprigatito hostage.
Members
The trio
Similar to previous anime series, Pokémon Horizons: The Series introduces a new trio of villains. Unlike other trios, however, Amethio, Zir and Conia are more competent and serious in their actions, getting to the point of being more violent too. Although the three perform the same function, Amethio appears to be the leader of the trio, taking the lead in battles and giving orders to his other companions.
