Allows the player to pass through Route 111's harsh sandstorm, allowing them to obtain a Root Fossil or Claw Fossil from the northeast part of desertRSORAS/Mirage TowerE, which can be revived into Lileep or Anorith, respectively, at the Devon Corporation in Rustboro City.
Without them, when the player tries to enter the desert, the following messages appear and the player will be turned away:
- "The sandstorm is vicious. It's impossible to keep going." RSE
- "The sandstorm is too harsh!" ORAS
