Guyana is a location in South America in the Pokémon world. It is known to be the habitat of Mew. It is based on the real-world location.
In the games
While Guyana has not directly appeared in the games, Mr. Fuji apparently visited Faraway Island, a small, forested island which contains a wild Mew. This island could possibly be the area referenced in the Pokémon Mansion journals, which was described as a jungle in Guyana.
In the anime
Guyana was briefly seen in Mewtwo Strikes Back, when an expedition team funded by Team Rocket was seen traveling through a jungle somewhere in Guyana in search of Mew.
