Trivia

  • There was initially some misinformation on some Pokémon websites, claiming that Shellos was the pre-evolved form of Lapras.
  • When Serebii.net revealed Shellos' US name, the site originally interpreted its name as "Snelios" or "Shelios" due to poor image quality.

Origin

Shellos is based on sea slugs.

Name Origin

Its English name appears to be a pun on Shell and the suffix -less, as Shellos does not have a shell. The Japanese name Karanakushi literally translates to "a snail without a shell."
