Sand Force (Japanese: すなのちから Sand Force) is an Ability introduced in Generation V.
Effect
In battle
During a sandstorm, Sand Force increases the power of Rock-, Ground-, and Steel-type moves used by the Pokémon with this Ability by 30%. A Pokémon with this Ability will take no damage from the sandstorm if it otherwise would.
Affected moves
The table below lists the moves affected by Sand Force, as well as the Pokémon that can have Sand Force and learn those moves.
Although other Rock-, Ground-, and Steel-type moves are also affected by the Ability, they cannot be learned by any Pokémon with Sand Force. They may, however, be called via Metronome, Mirror Move, Copycat, or Mimic, or be used by a Pokémon that gained Sand Force by an Ability like Trace or Receiver or a move such as Skill Swap or Role Play.
Outside of battle
It is unknown if Sand Force has an effect outside of battle.
