Trivia

Origin

Electrike appears to be based on some kind of canine. It may also based on a demon of Japanese lore, the 雷獣 raijū, an elemental lighting creature that can take on the shape of various mammals.

Name origin

Electrike's name may be a combination of electric and strike. Its Japanese name, Rakurai, literally means 落雷, bolt of lightning. The French name probably comes from dynamo, as in an electrical generator, and volt, as in the unit for electrical potnetial and electromotive force.
