Trivia

  • Agatha makes her anime debut, meaning that all the members of the original Elite Four of Kanto from Generation I have appeared in the series. This also makes Ash and Pikachu the only known characters to have met all of them.
  • Agatha is in charge of the Viridian Gym until a new Leader can be found. Giovanni's loss of status is not explained.
  • Jessie talks about Antarctica, the place where their next assignment is located. She doesn't appear to know that it is the coldest, driest, and windiest of all seven continents.
  • This is the last episode to feature Ted Lewis as Giovanni (until The Thief That Keeps on Thieving!), Andi Whaley as Cassidy, and Eric Stuart as Butch.
  • When James says "Castle in the Sky," he makes a reference to the Studio Ghibli film.
  • The English title of this episode is a pun on the term "the dream team".
  • Professor Birch is shown at the end with his jeep, however, there has never been shown to be a connecting body or bridge between Kanto and Hoenn.
