The Wayward Cave (Japanese: まよいのどうくつ Lost Cave) is a two-story cave in Sinnoh. Flash and Rock Smash are needed to navigate it, but the cave itself is optional. It is located on Route 206, beneath the Cycling Road.
There is a side quest inside the cave where the player can join a NPC Trainer named Mira and lead her out of the cave.
There is a hidden entrance directly under Cycling Road west of the main Wayward Cave entrance. This cave is notably the only habitat of wild Gible accessible in 3. In Diamond and Pearl, Strength is required to enter this area, but not in Platinum.
Geography
Main cave
Wayward Cave is just as the name suggests; it is very easy to get lost in. Most of the caves features are the same and are repeated at every twist and turn. The cave is very dark, and light is hard to find, which is why Flash is needed to light the path.
Hidden area
There is a hidden entrance obscured by Cycling Road that holds a basement floor, filled with various bike obstacles such as muddy slopes and jump ramps. Strangely, Flash is not needed to light the area in the basement floor. This is also the only place where wild Gible are found.
