So this is my talk page... |
| ||
This is where you ask me questions, tell me to do stuff, and complain about my edits. Please start every new topic in a new section at the bottom of the page, and always sign your posts. I will always reply on this page. If I have written on your talk page, please reply there. If I've promised to do something and haven't done it yet, send me a reminder. I get forgetful in my old age. —darklordtrom 22:34, 1 January 2012 (UTC) |
Admin conflict
Hey trom,
Just wondering, from reading BulbaBot's talk and MAGNEDETH's talk, whats going on between MAGNEDETH and TTEchidna? (I don't mean to flame) Alebcay 20:39, 2 January 2012 (UTC)alebcay
- Never mind. I think I just about figured it out. Alebcay 21:52, 2 January 2012 (UTC)alebcay
Featured content
I was wondering about featured content, do you just edit the corresponding template or does it have to go through you first? I have already offered my help on your last archive so I won't bother again. Thanks --Epsilonexus 07:34, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, the templates have been locked from non-staff editing. If you message any of the staff who've been involved with this, such as Jo The Marten, SnorlaxMonster or Maverick Nate they can put it up for you. Your help is appreciated and I thought I had replied to your last message. If not, I apologise. I have just moved house and Bulbagarden hasn't been my first priority. —darklordtrom 09:39, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
- Fine don't worry about not replying, is there any style (eg. your move, game on, where in the world, etc) which you would prefer (I'll write what ever's needed)? Thanks Epsilonexus 13:15, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
- Do me one of each of whatever you're interested in. Thanks so much for your help. —darklordtrom 20:38, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
- Great! Is it worth making a user subpage of mine (or someone else's) where I could dump a Who's that Pokémon for the entire 649, and can be used as needed. I don't have them written yet it's just I know I can after a few hours infronnt of a pc... Though if this page is created, I would probably write other stuff like Your move, and not restrict the page to one style. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Epsilonexus 20:19, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- Best not to do these on a subpage. That way they can be more of a surprise to readers. I'll see if I can get something set up on the forums for users to submit featured content. Until then, email is the way to go (either me or one of the staff listed above). —darklordtrom 09:56, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
- Okay fine. You should have a few within the next few days. Out of interest, what is your actual email, because the email user thingy on here doesn't let me attach files, and I don't want to give you an email a few miles long... Thanks Epsilonexus 10:41, 14 January 2012 (UTC)

With relation...
...to the one on top, wouldn't it be better to manually write the date, so we can easily tell whether if something is for an upcoming day or if it's from a previous week? -tc²₆tc26- 10:30, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

Help with Site
Hello i am IceLibira and since im amazed by ur work i was wondering if u can help me with my site at this location: http://pokemonlove25.webs.com/ plzz just try to help me IceLibra 04:37, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry, I'm really busy right now with Bulbagarden, work, and the rest of my life. Good luck anyway. (PS - advertising is one of those topics you should really not do on Bulbapedia talk pages.) —darklordtrom 09:53, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
Sorry for the unsourced info...
But I still don't have enough money to go to Japan and back. Anyways, I just turned in a job application to a local university cafeteria. They say that they don't have anything for me yet, but they'll let me know. But since I can't go to work yet, I'm not making any money, except for the money in my checking account, but my parents want me to use it for paying off my school loans.
And because I can't go to Japan, I can't talk to the executive of TV Tokyo, or have an interpretor translate our conversation. Do you think you might, if you have the time? ~~LDEJRuff~~ 14 January, 2011 5:33 (UTC)
- Sure, I'll put my best men to work on this vital job. I'll let you know if anything comes of it. —darklordtrom 05:14, 16 January 2012 (UTC)
Signing posts
Why are users required to sign posts with ~~ ~~? I understand the importance of seeing a time sequence, but rather than having a bunch of unsigned comments lying around, why not automatically sign comments on a talk page? - unsigned comment from Tk3141 (talk • contribs)
- Firstly because not every talk page edit is a talk page comment. Sometimes it's necessary to not have the signature. Secondly, because if there are multiple active sections on a talk page and someone replies to two of them that aren't the final one, an automatic signature system would place the signature in a part of the page that is not connected to either of their comments. Thus, even if it could be done with the software (which I don't think it can), it won't be done for practicality reasons. Werdnae (talk) 03:10, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

Help spam
Hi, I'm Wikinezka's Administrator. On the Wikinezka there is problem associated with spam. I saw that also appeared on Bulbapedia. But you deal with it quickly. Can you advise me how can I get rid of this problem? Pawel10s 17:16, 14 March 2012 (UTC)

Pokemon Database
Hi, Magnedeth deleted Pokemon Database but he's away now so I was wondering if you'd be able to restore it please? It's a clearly notable site (pokemondb.net), at least the 5th most popular Pokemon fansite out of ALL of them, if not 4th or 3rd. Just look at how many non-notable and dead sites there are in the fan sites category. Thanks in advance.- unsigned comment from DisgruntledGoat (talk • contribs)
?
Um, sorry. haven't been on for a while, but how exacally does one beat bulbabot? For from bulbabot's page apparently TTEchidna and Shiningpikablu252 beat it. Still finding an article I can edit with my limited knowledge. (I ♥ Ralts ! 22:37, 24 March 2012 (UTC))
- That tag is for people who have made more total edits than Bulbabot, as seen on this list. As you can see, Bulbabot has since retaken its lead. Werdnae (talk) 23:37, 24 March 2012 (UTC)
New pages
Hello. Is it okay if I create a page about Pokémon Elite 2000 and The Pokémon World Forums? I've sent you an e-mail about this, but I'm not sure if you read it. ^^" Cooli 21:06, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
- Hi, I got your email but had not yet had time to respond. You can try but make sure they're up to the quality standard of existing articles. Otherwise one of the other administrators might delete it. Perhaps you could write a draft in, say, Notepad, and then save the page when you're done. —darklordtrom 03:46, 28 March 2012 (UTC)
Rumble
Can I add on each Pokémon's page (Kanto & Sinnoh) where they can be found on Pokémon Rumble? It'll give me something to do, and people won't have to go all the way to the area page and figure out which mode. Pringles 04:19, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
- I guess. I'm not familiar with this game and the way our Rumble information is set up. Try Jo The Marten. —darklordtrom 06:28, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
- They already are on the pages. Bulbasaur (Pokémon)#In side games. Werdnae (talk) 07:23, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
- I meant which mode/level they're on, as there are tons of different Pokémon in each level, and you have to search Bulbapedia to find the exact level and mode it is found on.Pringles 19:24, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
- So basically, I put for example:

Instead of:
In side games
Pringles 20:00, 13 April 2012 (UTC) I put it as:
In side games
That way you don't have to go thru tons of pages to find where it is. I could do this for Rumble Blast, too. The change is at the Rumble section, btw.
Front Page
It's me again. Can I do articles for the front page? I'll just write them and get them ready, then someone can program it in. I guess, at least. Pringles 04:20, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
- I don't have much to do with this part of the site at the moment. You're welcome to contribute; email anything you have to Jo The Marten or talk to her for further questions. —darklordtrom 06:28, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks! Pringles 19:25, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

Create pages
Trom- why cant I make new pages? TeamPlasmaN1212 (talk) 21:38, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
- In order to make new pages you must become "autoconfirmed" by the software. This requires making a fixed number of edits and being a member for a set period of time. Unfortunately, I don't remember either of the numbers. Just be patient and you'll gain the ability to create pages soon. If it's urgent, speak with an active administrator (i.e. not me). —darklordtrom 22:44, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
Thanks. And by the way, those numbers are supposed to be secret. TeamPlasmaN1212 (talk) 18:29, 31 July 2012 (UTC)

New idea for Bulbagarden's things!
In other words, I thought of this idea where you can read a half fannon half canon history of the Pokemon series (in-verse out-verse or in-in-verse) called, "The Bulb of Life", or something related to the "garden" or Bulbasaur. But only the admins (i want to be part of this too!) can edit the articles of history. Like this beta article...:
Article: History of Pokemon Part 1: An Egg from a Light
"First there was nothing. Blank"...etc...
...."Then all of a sudden, a light came and made an egg appeared." But enough of that, (btw it was about the birth of Arceus) this would solve all fights about the history of Pokemon.
As well as plots about the games, magna, tcg, real-life Pokemon and everything Pokemon, history is important. And The Bulb of Life will change EVERYTHING....FOREVER!! Reply if you agree or not.

- Please include a link in your signature so others can contact you. Anyway, Bulbapedia is for factual information, not fanwank, so I would recommend posting it on the Bulbagarden forums. But I can't speak for trom, so he'll have to respond for a decision. --Abcboy (talk) 04:06, 24 October 2012 (UTC)
- This won't fit on Bulbapedia. It's an encyclopedia, not a storybook. The information is taken from game data and other sources -- we can't make it up ourselves. —darklordtrom 09:15, 24 October 2012 (UTC)
Eatfish (talk) 00:23, 12 January 2013 (UTC) is my name please let me edit the main page! I am good at writing and editing pages! Thank you.
What
So, you're leaving? That's what I understood from MAGNEDETH's talk page. ★☆Togetic45☆★ 12:56, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
Well, well, well...
Welcome back to Bulbapedia, the dark lord trombonator. Since you have been away so long, let me give you a few helpful tidbits to make your return easier:
- Kogoro is the new Editor-in-Chief of Bulbapedia. You are expected to make regular sacrificial offerings, while constantly bowing down to her almighty grace and glory. Failure to do so will result in immediate termination.
- Due to your large absence, you are considered an Inactive Staff member. Good luck ever getting out of that, so enjoy that black Poké Ball you'll have until the end of time.
- Trombones are prohibited by recent policy. If we find you even thinking about playing one, you'll be fired and banned with extreme prejudice.
Now that you are up to date with Bulbapedia's workings, you can go back to complete inactivity until some time in 2015. Much love, - Kogoro - Talk to me - 08:16, 8 May 2014 (UTC)
- I'd say it's good to be back, but I'm crying with pain as I type this. Get off my page, you scamp, you're getting in the way of my ninja stealth editing of popular (locked) pages. The sooner I make this encyclopedia worth the reams of A4 paper I'm printing it on, I'm getting out of here. —darklordtrom 08:23, 8 May 2014 (UTC)
- Never going to happen, my dear Underling. Whenever you appear and decide to edit, we will know... We will know. Joking aside for a moment, will we be seeing more regular Trom editing or will you be vanishing back into oblivion once you're finished? - Kogoro - Talk to me - 08:27, 8 May 2014 (UTC)
- Probably oblivion. Let's see how this ORAS thing turns out, though. Maybe I'll need to buy a 3DS after all. —darklordtrom 08:30, 8 May 2014 (UTC)
- Tisk, tisk. You disappoint, Trom! Yes, you should buy a 3DS and I'd suggest the 3DS XL since it's much better than the original 3DS. Now, get back to work! *sips coffee* - Kogoro - Talk to me - 08:37, 8 May 2014 (UTC)

Editing "Today in History"
Hello,
I wanted to add some dates to the "Today in History" page, but it seems that I cannot. The text in the page says we're free to edit it, but I don't have permission. The page also says to contact you if we don't know how to help, so here I am. What do I do?
--MeatWing (talk) 03:55, 8 February 2015 (UTC)MeatWing
- Man, you're lucky I still get email notifications that people are writing to me. Hello everyone! I'm back! It's only been six months since the last time so you probably didn't miss me, but it's okay—I didn't miss you either. Especially Kogoro. Definitely didn't miss that old sack of wait is she still running this joint?
- Ahem. The reason you can't edit that page is because it's in my userspace still. To be able to edit in the userspace (that is, the section of the site in which all pages are prefixed by "
User:
") you need to be autoconfirmed. Details on how to have your account autoconfirmed are on the preceding link. - It might be worthwhile moving that project into a different namespace. But I'll leave that up to someone who has more to do with the current site than I do.
- (P.S. You don't have to write your name after you put the four tildes for the automatic signature.) —darklordtrom 08:09, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
