Walkthrough:Pokémon Ranger/Part 2

The Ranger Base is now visited by the Ranger Union's Chief of Technology; Professor Hastings, who is here to show Spenser the Super Styler that he has invented. After briefly being sent upstairs to check on Fearow, Spenser gives you the mission to escort Professor Hastings back to Fall City.

Mission 1: Escort the Professor

Head to the northern exit of Ringtown to enter Lyra Forest and follow the trail till Professor Hastings explains how the Grass Poké Assist works. (The Poison and Ground Poké Assists work in the same way.) Continue up a little further and stop again as Hastings explains the Water Poké Assist. (The Rock and Bug Poké Assists work in the same way.)

Further along the path you will be blocked by some bundled hay . Burn is needed to pass, so capture a nearby Torchic to help.

Follow the path (capturing the Pichu if you want to Recharge) until you reach a log blocking the path. This obstacle requires Burn to clear. Double back and capture a Combusken after it jumps out of a bush to use its Field Move. Now continue along the path and enter Krokka Tunnel.

After entering Krokka Tunnel, head east past the Dugtrio statue and go through the north door (all the south door contains are some Magikarp and a fisherman, but you are on a ledge so all you can do is talk to the fisherman).

Head east and stop as Professor Hastings tries to examine a Dugtrio. All of a sudden big boulders fall down splitting you from Hastings. The only way forward now is north but that way is blocked by a wood fence . Head back east to find a Paras that can use Cut to clear the fence.

Carry on north until you see another boulder, then head east and go through the door. Capturing both the Poliwag here can be useful for later. Continue through the southeast door and you will see the Go-Rock Squad take the Super Styler from the Professor. Before following them out onto East Road, capturing a Magnemite to Recharge and using the Save Machine is a good idea.

You discover a rampaging Rhydon outside the tunnel and need to capture it to calm it down. Use the Poliwag's Water Poké Assist for an easy capture.
