Walkthrough:Pokémon Ranger/Part 1

You arrive at the harbour of Fall City and start to explore, speaking with the receptionist at the Tourist Centre and interacting with the crate to discover either a Plusle (if playing as Solana) or Minun (if playing as Lunick). The Pokémon runs across the bridge and you follow, only to be stopped by Spenser, a Ranger Leader.

Spenser starts to welcome you to the region but is soon interrupted by a commotion nearby. The two of you investigate to find that the Pokémon from before has angered a Houndoom. Spenser takes this as an opportunity to demonstrate the capture process and calms down the Houndoom through capture. He then asks you to have a go at calming down Plusle of Minun.

If playing as Solana;

After a successful capture, Spenser hands you your Ranger certificate, and then flies you to the Ranger Base in Ringtown on his Fearow with the Pokémon you've just captured coming along for the ride.

In Ringtown, you are introduced to the other Rangers at the Ranger Base and are taught about recharging the Capture Styler and about saving your progress.

Larry then enters and asks the Rangers to help find his partner Pokémon, who has gone missing in Lyra Forest. Spenser decides that this would be an ideal mission for you to prove your skills and gives you the Ranger Mission.

Rookie Mission: Don't Fear Failure!

You and Spenser follow Larry to the entrance to the forest. Unfortunately, Larry is too upset to give you an accurate description of his Pokémon. There's only a few here though so surely one of them is the correct choice.

Capture a Chikorita and Zigzagoon and bring them to Larry. Neither of these are the Pokémon we are looking for. Resuming the search, a new Pokémon has appeared, maybe this Taillow is the right one. Capture it and reunite it with Larry.

After the reunion, a boy comes over and tells you about a small fire that has started in the forest. Spenser takes you over and explains how to use a Field Move on Obstacles such as this burning tree.
Near the river you can find a Mudkip with Soak to put out the fire.

Mission Clear

After completing this mission, you return to the Ranger Base and become a Rank 1 Ranger. However, more trouble soon stirs. Outside the base the Pokémon you captured in Fall City has upset Larry's Taillow. You need to capture it again to calm it down. Plusle or Minun will help you this time by using Discharge on Taillow.
