Walkthrough:Pokémon Diamond and Pearl/Part 23

This is the Bulbapedia walkthrough for Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.
These pages follow the original Nintendo DS iteration, not Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. The guide for those games can be found here.

Snowpoint City

To New Horizons

When you return to Snowpoint City, speak to the Sailor at the pier. He asks if you would like to set sail for the Battle Zone, a large island to the northeast of mainland Sinnoh. The rugged terrain and powerful wild Pokémon provide an excellent opportunity for Trainers to hone their skills. Agree in order to board the S.S. Sinnoh, and the ship departs.

Fight Area

Fight Area
Battle Park

Located between Route 225 to the north and Route 230 to the east, Fight Area is a tiny port town where Trainers who love battling gather to prove their skills. The gateway to the Battle Park is located here.

Island of Ambition

When the S.S. Sinnoh docks at the pier, you find Barry waiting for you. He wants to be "the greatest Trainer ever", so he is here to toughen up both himself and his Pokémon. A young man nearby overhears Barry, and warns that it will be difficult as Barry is talking about the young man instead. To prove himself, he is heading to the volcano on the north side of the island, which is said to hold a treasure. Barry believes that obtaining this treasure will make him the greatest Trainer and is about to go looking for it, but decides to stop at the Battle Tower first. After he leaves, the young man introduces himself as Buck. He asks if you and Barry know each other, and asks that you tell him not to underestimate the volcano. As he turns to leave, he advises that you both toughen up at the Battle Tower first, as reaching the volcano is no easy feat.

Battle Park

The gate to Battle Park is located on the east side of the Fight Area. The Battle Tower, where the best of the best gather to test their skills, is located here.

Welcome Committee

When you first enter the gate, you are greeted by the five receptionists and given a Point Card. This card tracks the number of Battle Points won at the Battle Tower until they are redeemed for prizes. These receptionists can then be consulted for more details about challenging the Battle Tower.

Exchange Service Corner

The Exchange Service Corner is a large, grand building in the middle of Battle Park. There are two entrances on the ground floor, with an elevated walkway linking the two sides. Inside, Trainers can redeem their hard-earned Battle Points for goods such as TMs and held items.

All in the Family

As you attempt to pass under the elevated walkway, a blond-haired man suddenly runs into you with a loud thud. He quickly apologizes, and soon recognizes you as Dawn/Lucas from Twinleaf Town. He mentions how that brings back memories, and if you are here then "he" can't be far behind. He seems excited about the prospect, then hurries off toward the Battle Tower.

A moment later, Barry runs into you as well. He is here to see how he measures up before heading to Stark Mountain. Barry mentions the man who you were just speaking with, and how it won't take long until he sees him. The young Trainer is anxious to toughen up, and rushes off toward the Battle Tower, as well.

Battle Tower

Battle Tower, 1F

The Battle Tower is a battle facility located on the north side of Battle Park. It was built to provide a challenge to all those able to defeat the Pokémon League, with the best and brightest Trainers from across the region competing to determine who among them is the strongest. Challengers push on through seven battles in a row, with three Pokémon per side in Single Battle mode or four per side in Double Battle mode, and levels capped at 50. No two Pokémon used by the same Trainer can be holding the same item. After defeating the seven opponents in each room, challengers are awarded Battle Points.

Restrictions

Nearly all Pokémon are available to participate, however there are certain restrictions.

Awards

After reaching a winning streak of a certain length, special prizes are awarded. These are all decorations to be displayed in a Secret Base.

In addition, commemorative Ribbons are awarded for reaching other achievements.

Tower Tycoon

On the 21st and 49 consecutive Single Battle, Palmer will appear and offer a challenge. Defeating him earns 20 Battle Points each time.

Score the Super Rod

After visiting the Battle Tower, the four Trainers that initially blocked the way northward and eastward from the Fight Area have left. Speak to the Fisherman outside the gate to Route 225, who declares that a Super Rod is “really good”. Agree with him to receive your very own Super Rod. This high-end fishing rod is the best model available and can reel in some of the strongest sea creatures.
