Snowpoint Gym

The Snowpoint Gym specializes in Ice-type Pokémon and features an ice rink with slides and snowballs blocking passages. Fire-, Rock-, Steel-, and Fighting-type moves are effective against Ice types. Fire-type moves are particularly recommended for handling Candice's team.

Candice's Abomasnow can set up Aurora Veil to reduce incoming damage, while Snow Warning boosts the Special Attack of her Ice-type moves. Her Medicham has high Attack and wields Brick Break to defeat Dark and Normal types; use a Flying-type to counter it. Sneasel can hit hard with Avalanche after taking damage. A fast Fire-type attack is advisable to finish it quickly.

Upon defeating Candice, you receive the Icicle Badge and TM14 (Blizzard) x5. The Icicle Badge is Sinnoh's seventh gym badge and enables the use of Rock Climb as a field move.

Acuity Lakefront

Return to Acuity Lakefront, which is now accessible after defeating Candice. The Team Galactic blockade has been cleared, and you can now enter Lake Acuity.

Lake Acuity

Enter Lake Acuity from the island in the middle of Acuity Lakefront. When you arrive, you discover that Team Galactic Commander Jupiter has already infiltrated the lake and captured Uxie, the lake guardian. Barry attempted to stop her but was defeated.

The cave interior features Ice-type and Water-type Pokémon. You will not encounter Uxie here during this part of the story, as it was captured by Team Galactic. After you defeat Dialga (BD) or Palkia (SP), Uxie will return to this cavern.
