Lisa Ortiz (born December 11, 1974) is an American voice actress as well as the current casting director and a former voice director for the English-language dub of Pokémon the Series and Pokémon Horizons: The Series.

Biography

Ortiz first became interested in voice acting when one of her brothers took her car and she went to search for it. An employee of Central Park Media accompanied her during the search and casually mentioned the company was searching for voice actors during the ride. She subsequently auditioned for and landed the role of Deedlit in Record of Lodoss War.

Ortiz later became one of the original voice actresses on Pokémon. She provided voices for Pokémon the Series until the end of the eighth season, when Pokémon USA and TAJ Productions took over the dubbing and distribution of the series. She later returned to the series in Hungry for the Good Life!. She mostly provides voices for minor characters, but gained a more important role in Pokémon the Series: Black & White, providing the voice of Ash's Oshawott.

She also began to serve as an assistant voice director starting in Pokémon the Series: Black & White, before succeeding Theresa Buchheister as the English dub's primary voice director and casting director during the nineteenth season, a role she would hold for the rest of the English dub of Pokémon the Series and for the first two seasons of the English dub of Pokémon Horizons: The Series. She was then was succeeded by Felecia Angelle and Laura Post in her primary voice director role, though she remains the dub's casting director and serves as a creative consultant for it.

She appeared in the Vanity Fair video "How Pokémon Is Dubbed From Japanese to English", where Sarah Natochenny explained how the animated series is dubbed.
