Hear the Cheers! (Japanese: エールが きこえーる！ Hear the Yell!) was a villain event in Pokémon Masters EX. It tied into the second part of the Galar chapter of the villain arc, featuring battles against Team Yell. It was one of the Galar villain events, the other being Lamenting a Millennium.
During this event, players could earn vouchers and Zamazenta Crystals from battles against Team Yell that could be redeemed in the shop for rewards, including a power boost for Hop & Zamazenta that would give them additional tiles on their sync grid. Obtaining 2,000 vouchers would reward players with a medal. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day.
This event featured the Battle Challenge, where players were challenged to defeat a team of strong opponents. Players could complete event missions by clearing these areas using various theme skills, earning medals and other rewards.
All sync pairs with the Galar theme skill received a bonus to their Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk and Sp. Def stats when used for this event, with the amount of the bonus varying between areas.
First run
The event first ran from July 31 to August 19, 2023. The "Leon Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Leon (Alt.) & Dragapult for the duration of the event, and the "Gloria Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Gloria (Alt. 2) & Cinderace starting on August 2, 2023 and lasting until the end of the event.
In this run, players could earn Event Vouchers A from battles. Event missions rewarded players with Gems and Battle Points for completing any of these battles a certain number of times, and the Battle Challenge mission rewards included a Tech and a Support Move Candy Coin.
Additionally, the music and artwork on the title screen were different than usual. The title screen artwork depicted Rose & Copperajah, Oleana & Garbodor, Leon (Alt.) & Dragapult, and Gloria (Alt. 2) & Cinderace, and the background music was
Decisive Battle! (Leon) (Pokémon Masters EX Version). In addition, a special voice-over line of a Trainer saying "Pokémon Masters EX" would play as soon as the game's logo appeared on the title screen. This line could be spoken by Rose, Oleana, Leon, or Gloria, chosen at random each time the title screen was loaded.
Second run
The event reran from March 21 to April 2, 2024. The "Double Feature Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Rose & Copperajah and Oleana & Garbodor from March 19 to the end of the event.
In this run, players could earn Event Vouchers T from battles, and the amount of vouchers received as completion rewards was increased slightly. In addition, the mission rewards were changed to only award Gems and medals.
If the player had already received Hop & Zamazenta's power boost, exchanging for it in the shop again would reward the player with a 3★ Power-Up.
