Goh's Farfetch'd (Japanese: ゴウのカモネギ Go's Kamonegi) is the twenty-fifth Pokémon that Goh caught in the Kanto region, and his thirty-eighth overall.

History

Farfetch'd and Goh

Goh caught Farfetch'd in Dreams Are Made of These! while he was participating in a Pokémon Orienteering competition. During his first two attempts to catch it, Farfetch'd deflected the thrown Poké Balls with its leek. During the third attempt, Goh faked it out and caught it while its guard was down.

In Panic in the Park!, Farfetch'd was one of the Pokémon that suffered from a lack of food at the Cerise Laboratory. Though it resisted the urge to eat its leek, Goh's other Pokémon wanted to eat it, which made it fly away in a hurry. In the end, Farfetch'd joined the Laboratory's other Pokémon to help Goh's three Cascoon evolve safely into Dustox.

In Toughing It Out!, Goh started training Farfetch'd. To this end, he took it on a trip to the Galar region so it could watch a World Coronation Series battle between Leon and Raihan. When Ash and Goh encountered a Galarian Farfetch'd, Goh used Farfetch'd against it in an attempt to capture it. Despite its best efforts, Goh's Farfetch'd was defeated. The next day, Ash and Goh's Pokémon got together to eat breakfast at the Wyndon Pokémon Center. However, when everyone's food started to disappear, Farfetch'd joined the others to find the culprit, who ultimately turned out to be a Sobble.

In Betrayed, Bothered, and Beleaguered!, Goh used Farfetch'd in a battle against Ash's Riolu. Despite the type advantage, Farfetch'd was defeated without much effort.

In Time After Time!, Goh used Farfetch'd along with Scyther to break through the Ilex Forest. Along the way, Goh managed to capture an Ariados and a Pineco at the same time, triggering some memories of Goh with his childhood friend Horace. Farfetch'd was present with Goh and his other Pokémon when he finally managed to see Horace again.

In This Could be the Start of Something Big!, Farfetch'd attended a surprise party hosted by the Lab members commemorating Goh and Ash's departure.

Personality and characteristics

Facing its regional form

In Panic in the Park!, it was revealed that Farfetch'd is aligned with the group of Goh's Pokémon who prefer to rest next to Golurk. When Golurk's seal broke, Farfetch'd and the other Pokémon in its group worked together to try to calm the giant Pokémon down. Despite its reluctance to be caught in its debut, Farfetch'd quickly grew close to Goh, to the point where it gladly followed him to the Galar region to watch the match between Raihan and Leon. Goh's Farfetch'd appears to have a mutual rivalry with Ash's own Farfetch'd. While the two are normally friendly towards each other, they are prone to bickering, which leads to them clashing with their leeks.

As is common in its species, Farfetch'd is quite protective of its leek. While it briefly considered eating its leek during the food shortage in Panic in the Park!, it quickly decided against it, and fled before Goh's Taillow and Spearow had the chance to do the same. Farfetch'd appears to have a talent for deflecting projectiles, using its leek like a baseball bat to send them back. This made capturing it difficult for Goh, who had to fake it out before throwing. In Toughing It Out!, Goh was seen training Farfetch'd by developing this special talent.
