April Fools' Day 2026
April 1, 2026 was an April Fools' Day that fell on a Wednesday.
Hoaxes
Bulbapedia became Pokopedia, and received a Pokémon Pokopia-themed overhaul. Pokopedia was discovered by Professor Tangrowth and Ditto, who created a page for Human (not Pokémon) as a way to document humans and hopefully impress them enough to return to the Pokémon world.
Events
The Pokémon Company
- The Pokémon Company International uploaded a 10 hour livestream titled "LIVE! 🔴 TEN HOURS of the Star We Need 💜 | Pokémon 📺 Watch Now!", featuring an animation of Mega Starmie running through various backdrops and interspersed with images of Mega Starmie ex from the Pokémon Trading Card Game. The video loops every 20 seconds.

Pokémon GO
- Mimikyu debuted in Pokémon GO on April 1, 2026, during the "A Shockingly Good Time" event that ran from March 31 to April 6, 2026.
Pokémon Masters EX
- An unnamed event was planned where Sawyer and some male Swimmers would perform the Mochi Mayhem dance like in the Pecharunt Strikes Back story event, to Carmine's surprise, though they are not possessed and are simply dancing as exercise. However, shortly before the event would have started, an update moved the event date and effectively canceled the event. This would be the first time a datamined event in Pokémon Masters EX would be canceled, and the first year since its launch where Pokémon Masters EX would not have an April Fool's Day event.
Pokémon Pokopia
- Pokémon Pokopia introduced a one-day event that can be accessed from the Pokémon Center PC from 05:00 on April 1, 2026 to 04:59 on April 2, 2026 local time. By answering imitation-themed quiz questions from Pokémon, the player will receive an Inflatable Sudowoodo item.
Aesthetic changes
Bulbagarden
Bulbagarden received a theme titled "Let's Get This Place Humid! (April Fools 2026)", based on Pokémon Pokopia.[1] The theme features "Gyaru Bulbasaur", a humanoid interpretation of Bulbasaur based on how its personality is perceived by fans to be similar to common gyaru subculture tropes. The theme is named after one of Bulbasaur's dialogues in the game.
Bulbapedia became "Pokopedia", adopting a Pokopia and Ditto-themed front page design with a "Message from the Editor"-style post from Professor Tangrowth, including a link to a joke article titled "Human (not Pokémon)".
