Events

Pokémon GO

An event titled What's That Poké Ball? was held on April 1, 2025, from 0:00 to 23:59 local time. The event involved catching Poké Ball-themed Pokémon, namely Voltorb and Electrode (and their Hisuian forms), Foongus, Amoonguss, and Galarian Stunfisk.[1]

Pokémon Masters EX

A one-day special event, Slumbering Snorlax, had the Pokémon Center filled with Snorlax that were put to sleep by Jigglypuff, and a new remix of Jigglypuff's Song replaced the usual background music. The event also involved a battle against a single Snorlax, in which all the player's sync pairs are caused to fall asleep at the start of the battle.

Fansites

The Subreddit r/PokeMedia had an event where, because of a prank pulled by Hoopa, various characters, including some Pokémon, had their personalities flipped.

Pokémon Showdown had two additional formats. April Fool's Day was a Random Battle format exclusive to the day where both players use six Leafeon named April. Every time they take an action, the Leafeon sends the message "Fool's Day" in the chat, resulting in lines that read, "April: Fool's Day". Each Leafeon had the moves Tidy Up, Bitter Blade, and a custom ??? move called Herbal Dagger. The final move was one of Strength Sap or Razor Shell. A custom Ability similar to Parental Bond made the damaging moves hit twice. All Leafeon could Terastallize into the Fire-type. Monkey's Paw Random Battles is a Random Battle format based on Random Battle, in which players can obtain benefits during battle by "wishing", a custom mechanic using the existing UI for Mega Evolution and Terastallization, Monkey's Paw Random Battle is still available.

Other

A Special Edition illustration was released for Pokémon feat. Hatsune Miku Project VOLTAGE High ↑ on April 1, 2025, where Miku was replaced by Kasane Teto,[2] a similar voice synthesizer character who debuted as an April Fools' Day joke and is consequently associated with the holiday.[3]

Google Search added a feature allowing users to catch Pokémon from the first generation by searching their names.
