Walkthrough:Pokémon Scarlet and Violet/Part 5

South Province (Area Three)

South Province (Area Three),
in southeast Paldea

South Province (Area Three) is a rocky region in southeastern Paldea. It borders Mesagoza to the west, South Province (Area Five) to the south, East Province (Area One) to the north, and the town of Artazon to the east.

Picnic Time

A short distance from Mesagoza, you find a man and his Pikachu at a picnic table. Speak to him to find that he bought too many ingredients, and decides to share some with you. Before you can leave, he invites you to picnic with him and his Pikachu so that you and your Pokémon can take a rest. Doing so here restores your Pokémon to full health, leaving them ready to continue their adventure. The man invites you to visit again anytime.

Continue along the path to reach the South Province (Area Three) Pokémon Center, which unlocks the building as a fast-travel point.

South Province (Area Three) Pokémon Center

A Pokémon League representative can be found near the South Province (Area Three) Pokémon Center. Speak to him, and he offers a prize for defeating seven Trainers in the area. Do so, and he rewards you with a Shell Bell.

On the Trail of a Titan

As you continue on from the Pokémon Center, you receive a call from Arven. He informs you that the Stony Cliff Titan is said to lurk around the area, but that he hasn't been able to find it. He wonders aloud if maybe it is hiding high up on a cliff, but dismisses the idea as too unlikely and warns against doing anything too dangerous while trying to find it. He suggests checking the Map app if you get stuck, then ends the call.

South Province (Area Three) Watchtower

The South Province (Area Three) Watchtower stands on the north side of the main road, about halfway between the Pokémon Center and the town of Artazon. Reaching the tower unlocks it as a fast-travel point.

Lower level

Climb to the lower level, then continue to the top.

Upper level

Another suspicious-looking treasure chest can be found on the upper level. Examine it to trigger a battle with a Chest Form Gimmighoul, and collect the Gimmighoul Coins that it leaves behind.

A copy of TM080 (Metronome) can also be found here.

Picnic Time

On the opposite side of the road from the watchtower, you find a man and his Rockruff at a picnic table. Speak to him, and he gives you some of his extra ingredients. Before you can leave, he invites you to picnic with him and his Rockruff so that you and your Pokémon can take a rest. Doing so here restores your Pokémon to full health, leaving them ready to explore the rest of the area. The man invites you to visit again anytime.

The Stony Cliff Titan

The Stony Cliff Titan

"Witnesses claim they've seen a giant stone moving on its own in Area Three of the South Province. And the stone has big, swiveling eyestalks?! Perhaps it's a Titan camouflaging itself to catch prey."
—Map description

East of the watchtower, there is a wide open area with a tall rocky structure to the north. A massive crab-like Pokémon can be seen hanging on the cliffside near ground level. It hurries away as you approach, climbing higher and around the side of the structure. Run up the ramp to the east to follow it to the upper level. Approach it here a second time, and the Titan Pokémon leaps off of the cliff and attacks!

VS Titan Klawf, Round 1

The Sweet Herba Mystica

Rock-type Pokémon like Klawf are weak to Fighting-, Grass-, Ground-, Steel-, and Water-type moves. Beware its Anger Shell Ability; when its HP falls below 50%, its Defense and Special Defense drop in order to boost its Attack, Special Attack, and Speed! When its health is nearly depleted, it suddenly flees from the battle by jumping down the cliff's edge behind it.

VS Titan Klawf, Round 2

Run back down the ramp and approach the Titan a final time. Cornered, it suddenly turns around and attacks the cliffside, revealing a massive cave. The Pokémon then begins eating a pink-colored plant, just as Arven appears. He's amazed at the Titan Pokémon's size, and is afraid that it will be stronger now after consuming the herb. Klawf prepares to attack, while Arven and his Shellder join you in a Multi Battle against it.

Herba Mystica, Secured

With the Titan Pokémon defeated, Arven decides to investigate the cave before Klawf can return. The two of you soon reach a cavern with glowing moss and a shining, pink herb: the Sweet Herba Mystica! Arven consults his book for details, and finds that the herb aids in digestion. He wonders aloud if he could get "him" to eat some of it, then goes on to make sandwiches for you both. He also rewards you with the Rock Badge, a homemade treasure that he calls a Titan Badge, as thanks for taking on the Titan Pokémon.

The two Trainers are about to eat when KoraidonS/MiraidonV suddenly appears from its Poké Ball. The dragon sniffs longingly at your sandwich, which gives you the chance to feed it. The dragon is thrilled, but Arven is disappointed that you now cannot appreciate his hard work. He reluctantly shares half of his sandwich with you, just as the dragon begins acting strangely. Consuming the Herba Mystica has given it enough power to reclaim one of its abilities, and is now able to dash as a result! Arven begins to pack things up, and urges you to start searching for the four remaining Herba Mystica.

Once you and the dragon have left the cave, Arven then lets an unseen Pokémon out of its Poké Ball to eat.

An Update from the Professor

When you exit the cave, you receive a call from Professor SadaS/Professor TuroV. The professor has detected that the dragon has regained some of its original power, and explains that it will now be able to dash at high speeds. After encouraging you to continue exploring Paldea with KoraidonS/MiraidonV at your side, the professor then ends the call. Pressing the Left Stick allows the dragon to move at high speed, but watch out for trees! If it strikes a tree while dashing, Pokémon lurking in the branches will fall from their perch, allowing you to battle them.
